Question for Villa Dave (leedswannabe dave) , I noticed last night Jack Grealish stayed on his feet, didn't through himself to the ground like he does villa, his he told to do this by Smith, or has Southgate told him not to.

Good post Richie . Smith definitely either encourages or tolerates diving. its endemic with Villa.

To be fair, he did throw himself on the floor at the start when someone breathed on him, but the ref gave him no joy, so he stayed on his feet thereafter!

Hi Rich, He has done it since he was 6 years old mate.
His Dad had a word, Personally I hate it, if you are going to invite a foul, do it in the box and get the penalty.
Now surely that proves I ain`t stupid "right"

Leedsdave lol you can always ask those fine gentlemen of integrity, honesty and fair play Smith and Grealish to scratch that itch for you ( or see a doctor) 😉.

Duping the ref is sadly a skill these days. If players are allowed to get away with it then it will surely continue. Up to the authorities to stamp it out if they want to but as they allow it to continue they must surely advocate it. A shrewd player will take every advantage they can get and would you really be upset if a dive by an England player won us the Euro Cup, or if a Padbameyang dive won Leeds a penalty? People only seem to get upset when they are on the receiving end.

got to be honest leeds fans are hard on Grelaish
I love Bamford and Ayling but both of them love a dive and seen a few dives in the past. One from Beradi which was awful and when I mentioned that I got shouted down. Kwelle as well won us a game against Barnsley I think by a dive in 85th minute.
it is part and parcel of game and will only be eradicated when they ban players for a year for doing it, Var has helped.
One thing annoys me more than diving which is when players stay on feet after being fouled and the ref don't give a free kick. it literally vailidats going to ground.

For me it's to ref I would leave them on grass they would soon get up when they know there getting nothing when I used ref kids Sunday morning you used get all parents shouting free kick pens and so on I used turn to them and just say tomuch match of day you lot and all them what have played game would say your right ref end of now talking of divers what about Franny Lee now he could dive him MOT everyone.
