I think a lot of negativity around Tyler Roberts but he is only 21 still, looking at the squad we have players who are around that age that haven't made the same contribution as him yet they are lauded . So think given his age he can still develop under Bielsa .

There is no doubt that Roberts has got talent, but he just doesn’t seem to be able to transfer that into games.
Maybe he will push on now we are in the Premiership, but I do think we should be seeing more of an end product at the age of 21. Most players that are very good/ great, have already shown what they are capable of by this age, but I don’t think we have.
Time will tell and I hope he makes the grade, but I am not putting any money on it!

You could give Tyler Roberts as many years as you want. HE WILL STILL BE A CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER! NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I love the lad but calling it as I see it!

Great post Mighty and it certainly made me think. There are other youngsters like Gotts and Shackleton who are roughly same age as Roberts yet as you say are lauded by sone yet only have limited first team playing time.
There’s a reason MB is picking him above other young lads such as Shackleton and who are we to disagree!
Must admit i really do rate Shacks though.

He hasn't managed to develop in the last 2 years due to injury si he is now behind where he would have been with fitness and game time. Maybe he can make up that lost ground and maybe not. I don't see him as a starter at the moment unless we have no choice but continuing his development and coming on as a sub maybe he will.

the lad has something but still lacking in this team. I see it more as the rest are really good rather than him being poor. that said sadly he is the weak link so for me should be dropped but not written off just yet.

Agree with you Bermo, Roberts should definitely not be written off. I reached the City match and two good passages of play showed what Roberts can do.
The no-eyes reverse pass on the edge of their area, in to the path of the on running Dallas, whose shot was smothered. Maybe lucky, but may be he reacted to a call and had the technique to pull it off. I like to think the latter
The other was the long range pass out to the right wing, perfectly weighted and in to the path of the on running attacker.
I think the lad is a talent and will develop.
