Rodrigo is a great footballer although not a great goal scorer which is what I feel we needed . I also think he's a bit of an ego / vanity signing . Ok MB loves him and Orta and Radz can please him and show the world they can bring in a marquee signing . But I can't help feeling that the likes of Watkins, Origi or Edouard would have been more sensible long term signings at our stage of development. Guys who could fit into the Bielsa system, score goals and be worth potentially much more than we paid for them in a few years time . Rodrigo is knocking on 30 and will be worth next to nothing towards the end of his 4 year deal . Furthermore, if he doesn't work out we will be saddled with his £100 k a week wages . The others would have been on around half that . Be that as it may I think Rodrigo will make us stronger and the capture of Koch is great news . Phil Hay is suggesting that MB is coming round to the idea of signing two CB's which is a relief and with an attacking midfielder / winger to follow, we will be well set for a mid table finish .

Origi yes, but as I think you would agree has a big tendency to just disappear and his overall goal tally ain't the May West either, hence he being moved along soon I feel .
Rodri has played in the berna + nou camp regularly has big match experience and is a Spanish international .
Yes he's 30, but let's not attach that age to over the hill just yet, players are far more entuned into sport science +longevity nowadays .
Lets just be happy Radz has payed the going rate for big players now, and let's not look for the flaws of the lad so soon, let's accentuate the pros,

Chris Chris, watkins a championship player, what like all our players last season, but were expecting them to step up, so y wouldn't watkins step up.

Richie my point was should we take a gamble on another championship player and how be might adjust to premiership as he woyld need to hit the ground bolting, or should we pay for a full international who has played in a top division against world class players
