For me all this talk of Ben White's price being in the £40m bracket is way off the mark.
If he is worth that and saying Cooper and Pontus are not worth quite as much, they must still be valued in the £20m bracket each, even if you half that again to £10m each.
We sold Pontus for around £5m
Based on selling Pontus for £5m I really don't see Ben White at any more than £10m with additional payments based on achievements like becoming a regular international, Leeds winning trophies, then only payable if we sell at a profit.
Think I would much rather spend our reported £45m transfer kitty on 6 or 7 players who strengthen the whole squad.
Also I would much sooner see us as a mid table team rather than spend stupid money on greedy has been or never would be players like we did before.
While I will always wish to see money spent, I am very happy to accept a prudent budget so long as it is spent wisely and we do not end up going backwards.

Name 6 players who are Prem standard that we could get for £45million. That will only get us 3 at a push that are good enough and maybe not even that. Costa was £19million and he wasn't even that brilliant in the Championship.

1970 Your baseline of Pontus is misconceived as it was halfway to a firesale due to our need to comply with FFP and his deteriorating relationship with Bielsa. He was probably worth £9m truthfully. Most first teamers and squad players who make the bench regularly in the PL are going to be worth minimum £15m as we saw with Costa and the fee talked about for Adams. Only value to be had is when there's only a year or less on their contracts. The deal we should be looking to do with Seagulls for White is £25m now, 3m if he plays for England and another £4m if we're in the PL for the 21/ 22 season.

£25 mill up front?! You’re having a laugh George.
Who needs a MD when you have supporters such as Georgy who can do negotiations for ya free of charge 😂.

Cork Why? He's rated in the £35m bracket. I was the first to post on here about how much it would take to prise him away and it was you who said that valuation was about right. By "up front", I mean the amount we pay but also relying on the 2 or 3 instalments we're allowed to use.

Hope Georgey you are a tad better at your transfer negotiations than you are your transfer predictions 😉🤣.

Alf if you go on transfer market web site it gives a list of all the players transfer fees with Lalana, Moreno, Wilson on loan, Ings, Mooy and Cavaleiro it came to about £40m. I'm not saying we should get those players but similar players who fit our style would certainly improve the squad at a cost of £45m. I trust Bielsa on recruitment as I think he is at Professor level with his knowledge of the game and can see a player. His interest alone got Dan James a transfer at a over inflated price and where James now looks if he is starting to struggle. James missed his chance to come to Leeds where Bielsa would have made him a great player, he has a very make or break season coming up.

Ok Georgy you now recognize that most transfers are not paid up front.
And stop with the name calling, though it’s not beneath you, as it’s just immature and rude.
We can all be unpleasant and say that you are such an arrogant person that you actually believe the crap you type.
MOT.
