Lukic was my hero in 91 against wimbledon I met the whole team (hodge was injured so he showed me around to meet everyone) . I met batty, speed, mac, Champan and Lukic. I loved that whole team but meeting him and having my photo with him was amazing (still keep the photo in bedside cabinet) to this day he is my favorite leeds player. It is amazing the hold football has and how you never grow out of your boyhood heros.

Wow Berm what an amazing experience for you particularly as a young boy meeting the whole Leeds United team of 91/ 92 ( the best Leeds United team aside from Revie's teams) .

By the way you mentioning Stevie Hodge; what a vitally important player Stevie was that season wurh his goals from midfield especially the winner against Liverpool.

yeah hodge was injured so couldn't play so he met me at the club shop and walked me through the stadium to the dressing room. He really looked after me and was a lovely bloke. and yes such an amazing experience, I was leeds man and to meet all the players and my hero lukic was amazing.

I also met Grayson and some of the leeds squad the year we won promotion as the team was staying in her hotel. I met him in the lounge and we spoke for about 20 minutes (he was shocked to see a local man who was die hard leeds) he also got me a signed shirt from the whole of the sqaud which is framed and on the wall.

outside of that I have also met Jimmy Floyd hasslebaink at her hotel (he was lovely and said leeds fans were best he knew) and beat pete sweeny and jason brown in a football tourlement. Just realised I am starting to sound like a stalker. which to be fair guess is spot on.

Lol BW you should change 'Bermondsey White' to 'Berm the Stalker' as your username 😂😂 don't you think?

One of my favourite memories is getting a hello and an autograph of one of my Leeds United 1970s heroes Tony Currie ( 1976 to 1979) .
Also remember fondly how two Leeds fans seemingly tanked up with booze got onto the pitch and came up to Tony Currie during the warm up at QPR in the League Cup and got on their knees and started prostrating and worshipping TC much to the considerable cheers and amusement of the entire crowd of Rangers and Leeds fans.

Happy Days.

In the 70s i moved to Wetherby and bought the then wife a hair salon. Few of the team were regulars, F. Gray, Flynn, Jordan, Graham, and sometimes Yorath. My best memory was eating at a restaurant in Collingham and Peter Lorimer was there with his wife and we had a good chat and a few bevvies. Good times.

great stories Bige and BV,

my step dad fav player was Tony Currie, sadly don't know much about him but I know he was very popular with the fans.

Love reading these and think it shows the power of football and what it means to the fans and part of the reason I love this site and hpe football comes back sooner rather than later

people say football is not life or death but i think for a lot of people it is life.

Hodge is a top fella. Did a presentation at one of my lads football awards.

Just don’t ever mention Leeds to him and you’ll be fine. I did, because it amused me greatly

Still, he’s a great bloke and a massive improvement on Des Walker who was arrogant and unpleasant each time I was unfortunate to meet him.
