Carrying on thread below the only real problem I have is the lack of investment in the squad. Both last season and this I would have liked to have seen another 3 or 4 quality players.
On Bermos point about our weaknesses, if we had the type of players to play the type of football he advocates, big no nonsense defenders, we would sacrifice our ability to play the Bielsa type of possession football out from the back. We cannot have it both ways. Our strengths are also weaknesses and vice versa.

sorry leeds i can see your point but disagree

yes with white we have a classy defender who is not great in the air but in cooper and Beradi we have defenders who are not great with a ball and useless in the air. if we had two defenders like white then fair enough but cooper and beradi are both weaker at defending than players like pontus and bartley and weaker with the ball.

Think Bubs will know we will need to add height to the squad to do well in PL and CB is obvious place. However if we keep Augustin, Meslier, Harrison and Costa that's 45mill. If Brighton let's us buy Ben add 30 mill to that. So we will have to look at loans again in certain areas but the good thing is that lots of fringe players at top clubs will love to come play for us in PL. Although we may not get the players we all want i think we need to look at staying in the PL and remain financially sound. Keep the teamwork and work ethics and build from there.

One point I’d differ on with you Bermo is Coops being poor with the ball. He had been great on that front up until the season stopped. See what you’re saying re Barts and Pontus, but agree with 1970, that two players in the team of that ilk would prevent us playing real Bielsaball.

Maybe the plan for 20/ 21 is to move on 2 or 3 and bring in some young, hungry, talented, Bielsaball players?

Cooper one of the best ball playing CBs in the division.
Strange thing to say that he’s not Bermo?

I think white is quality with the ball but cooper while competent I don't think is great with the ball and can make a few mistakes

and Bige I am not sure regarding Belisa. last year we was poor in the air and weak at set plays. so he sells pontus and gets white. which while white is great he is useless in the air and it has made us weaker to the point that our best defender of set plays is bamford. hence why when bamford is not playing we conceed three times as many goals.

so going by past form and logic Belisa will address our lack of height and weakness at set plays by selling bamford and replacing him with Tyrion lannister (he is a dwarf for those who don't watch game of thrones) and within five seasons our team will consist of Dopey, Sneezy, Bashful and Doc (they are four of the seven dwafs for those who don't have disney plus)

also benifit of the doubt to cooper (who is for me a weak link and nt good enough) let's say he is decent with the ball our third choice is beradi.5'8 useless with the ball (sunday league) can't defend high balls, is a mistake waiting to happen. so a big lump would be better as 3rd choice if nothing else.

Ba Jebus Bermo.
There is such a massive gulf between being a top semi pro, and having being a pro, that you wouldn’t believe it!
I’ve played and coached at a decent level, and then done charity tourneys and been mugged every single time by pros like Liam Brady at 30yrs my senior. Berra is a pro, and is not what you deride him to be. Respect, please.

get out of town Bright are you seriously comparing Liam brady who was a real class act to Beradi?

yes i have the upmost respect for players like Liam Brady, I have played with many pro footballers and they always showed class. I played with Kenny Samson and his effortless strike of the ball seemed unhuman and of course most really show there class

My team also played in a number of torlements in honour of my best mate from school who sadly passed of bowl cancer aged only 25. His dad played for Chalton and Millwall as well as a few other teams and was a coach so these cups always had a number of pros who had just hung up there boots. (players from teams like milwall, palace, charlton and even a couple of leeds players pete sweeney and jason brown) . now while these players were decent (and i am not saying they was trying all out) my team of fitness insturctors (whoes best player played for welling) always held our own and one year won it.

now I am not saying pros are not great or we was as good as them. my point is you can not compare liam brady with the likes of the players we beat every year. and beradi is closer to peter sweeney than he is liam brady. come on.

BW agree we could do with a big fella but this season Bub has done what he had to do with what he had to play with. We are top of division, can't get any higher than that. Sure he will know what to do in PL.

Can not argue with that BIGE spot on.
