I'd like to ask an Ed a question. In other team forums who's teams are near top of the table do posters winge and bitch as much as on here? While I agree that things are not exactly great at this moment for Leeds but I still believe it can be turned around.

{Ed001's Note - every time a team hits a bad patch the fans whine and the site gets busier. However I have to say Leeds fans are currently way ahead of the rest in terms of throwing the toys out of their pram when still right up in contention.}

I had an inkling. Cheers for the reply.,

{Ed001's Note - Rangers push it close to be fair. Even when they won 4-1 this weekend their site was as much full of people complaining as celebrating!}

to be fair name one othr club fans with as much right to moan as leeds fans

i don't mind being rubbish i just hate under achiving and throwing a good situation away.

{Ed001's Note - if you think you are underachieving then I have no words. It is quite the opposite with the team you have if you ask me. None of you thought you would be in contention before last season started, now you seem to think you have a right to stroll away with it because you overachieved. I don't get it. Your owner keeps selling your best players and weakening the squad, how can you expect to compete? You talk about Wilder performing miracles, but Wilder was backed fully by the club and given the players he wanted and no one he wanted to keep was sold. Bielsa didn't want to lose Clarke or Roofe, they were key players for him. Particularly Roofe. I am quite sure he would love to have Vieira available too.}

Some good points Ed001 about Wilder and Sheffield United.

{Ed001's Note - just find it difficult to believe people can compare the two. They are working in completely different circumstance. Wilder is a manager, Bielsa is a coach. It doesn't matter how good either are though, if they don't get complete backing from within their respective clubs then they are operating with one arm tied behind their back.}

Indeed Ed001.

100% agree Ed, Roofe was a key player for Leeds, don’t think Radrizzani wanted to meet his contract demands, plus he probably felt that Bamford at the time was the preferred striker.

{Ed001's Note - for me he is the one you really miss.}

I was very surprised that with the recent loss of key players that haven’t been replaced sufficiently that Bielsa himself didn’t say “I’m off”! He did it at Marseille when Payet, Florian Thauvin, André-Pierre Gignac we’re moved on, same at Lazio. I don’t think he normally tolerates meddling chairmen.

{Ed001's Note - there was more to it at those places.}

Ed. Great points. I think we are most certainly over achieving, given what Bielsa has to work with, and this, in the main, is why I can’t understand all of the “whining and bitching” (IM JOKING! ) , I mean negativity, toward the coach, who is solely responsible for achieving what we have this year, and last. Roofe a massive loss, yes, but if indeed he did indicate that he wouldn’t be signing a new contract, then the only option was to sell.

{Ed001's Note - it wasn't the only option. There was a choice between making money on him or keeping him to help push for promotion. He could have been the difference this season for you, imo.}

Exactly ED001 . Roofe should havr been kept regardless of not signing a new contract. he went for a measly paltry £6 million too

He would have made the difference indeed.

11 Feb 2020 10:04:56
Not if he didn’t actually want to be here anymore. And whilst £6-8 mill seems paltry, it’s better than a disruptive influence, and nowt at the end of the season, on top of paying his wages for a year.
