anyone seen that story about Bouy? - we brought him in, he has never played for us, he refuses to play for us or train with us and has no desire at all to play football. he is just sitting taking a wage, travelling back and forth from Holland and we can't even get rid of him with 2 years left on his contract.

wtaf? what a waste of time and money and they can't even terminate a contract with someone who refuses to play football. He probably gets paid more than I do per week and does literally nothing. He would soon fall back in love with football if he had to serve burgers at McDonalds I can tell you. Meanwhile we are paying for another 'one for the future' that is already a has been.

Classic Orta.

If he refuses to play he'd be in breach of contract.
Club simply have to say arrive for work at x time and if he doesn't would be in breach som could terminate the contract.
Where'd the info come from?

It’s already with the legal team, or so I read, and I think there is more to it than meets the eye. He’s basically gone on strike, but will be made to pay his dues in time.

That’s what I thought Canada but evidently we can’t shift him and he refuses to come to a termination agreement.

Alf, it depends on what agreement we want.
We would have the right to simply fire him, but for arguments sake let's see he wants to go to another club and we won't let him so he does his strike thing maybe we won't fire him as he could then go to the other club for free. Maybe we are not prepared to allow that.
I would assume we can simply not pay him but retain his rights if we don't fire him.
