This is for those who attend ER regularly.
How many of you have ever worked with/ listened to or read about sports psychology?
I had little knowledge of anything to do with it until my youngest was competing at a very high level (it made a huge difference to his performance level, he ranked 6th in Canada and beat an Olympian at 16!) .

I'm certainly no expert but please do a quick google on 'sports psychology negativity from supporters' and see if any of it resonates.
Wondering what the ER atmosphere is like and whether any of you believe our negativity (fans) could be affecting the performance of the team. How does it compare with away games?

I believe Brits in general are negative and us Yorkies are even worse than average so just wondering if we are part to blame!

Agree1 Disagree0

I’ve only been 3 times but are the supposed beat fans in the land now why our team can let in goals and not score?
Easy. Nobody go.

I think psychology has a huge part to play and ER is not a place for the faint hearted to play. that is sometimes why certain players fail when they come to Leeds and others flourish.

Canada, This is a very important and relevant philosophy in sports. The negativity of anticipated bad luck and failure actually helps to create them because it contributes to us not putting our best foot forward. It blocks the flow of positive energy and directs the Law of Attraction to attract negative consequences rather than positive outcomes.
From fans to players to management absolutely 100% it has an effect.

Aus, luck can cause the initial issue (or simply a mistake or off day) which can affect us as fans and we can then further make things worse by showing our frustration and nervousness.
That's why strikers who are on a roll often continue, confidence. Similarly slumps can go on too long.

firstly canada well done to your boy that is a real achievement and well impressed!

i posted something a while back the crowd definatly can affect in any sport (and in my industry as well) but it is not just the neigitive i think the positive is just as bad

leeds are going up. top of the league. all puts pressure on the players

i mentioned before wall v brighton, gulls were wining and singing going down. wall sung so are we. the wall players lifted it was like the pressure went. wall won the game and went on a run and stayed up

id like to hear a lot leeds leeds going up and more marhcing on togheter (which must lift the players) and even maybe more leeds falling apart again as it might ease pressure

on another note. cry your eyes frank lampard defiantly lifted derby. he who laughs last and all that.

I think each player will react differently.
I always do well under pressure, some dont.
We all feel pressure for different reasons.
Dont have answers just generally think positive is better.
For example next time Bamford misses a sitter why not sing:-

'The next one's going in,
Next one, next one's going in'.

Would show belief (even if we doubt! ) And hopefully help confidence.
