After we played QPR last season, it was a bit of a turning point, so very good to put that one away yesterday.
We have all said lots on the Bamford subject, one scenario not being mentioned is, when he fell foul of the authorities last season, he became the target of some very poor decisions against him from the officials.
This has been a contributing factor to his form, confidence has suffered and as a result his goalscoring.
His work rate and contribution is very good.
Chelsea thought he had the potential be a top, top striker.
Our system does not suit him as much as it could in that the team are creating half chances.
If you watch the highlight programmes all the other teams are missing chances.
If he can get his confidence back and the team start creating better chances, he could come good.

I disagree with the quality of chances 1970. The chance in the first half was guilt edged and a shot should have been taken earlier.

100% he is generally treated poorly by referees. Same as Alioski, who has dived so much he doesn't get decisions when he is fouled.
Unfair on Bam as he doesn't dive much at all.

Notts I'm not saying he hasn't missed good chances, but that all clubs miss them. We are not creating enough clear cut chances based on possession and too many of our chances are only half chances.
Combined with the other factors mentioned, this has had an effect on his goalscoring.
To me his game seems to be a half a second out of sync with some of the other players. That cohesion appears to be missing. Very similar to Wood.

We have a poor conversation rate, I believe that before yesterday we had had a period of over 100 shots but only two goals. The pressure on Bamford to score has increased due to others not contributing and supporters believing that due to his price tag he should take that responsibility. Bielsa's expectation of what Bamford should be doing actually doesn't help him to score goals as he is ploughing a lonely furrow up front but is personally desperate to score goals. My feeling is that he needs to be a bit more efficient in his running so that when the opportunity presents it's self he has the energy and acceleration to get on the end of chances and start to be a tad more selfish whilst concentrating on hitting the target. Goals will then come.

Agree, very like Aldridge for Ireland . 1 goal in first 28 internationals or something along those lines.

Radz should be looking at hull city's Bowen as a January purchase. Bowen been a consistent scorer in the championship and with him in our ranks would I believe he a better option than bamford.

I still believe Paddy will score 15 plus this season if he stays fit. And obviously stays in the first eleven!

Bowen is not a centre forward, so I don't think a like for like purchase would be in the offing there

He is a wide player, and as such I am with you on the idea of a purchase, but in that position.

I do think we should be looking at a better quality centre forward, so that our dominance in this division is underlined, but also because Bamford should be a bench option should we gain promotion.
Our problem is to attract a top quality CFO whilst in the Championship.

Way he is used does not help but he has chances which other strikers would bury. He may not have many clear cut chances but who does. the ones he gets he needs to score if they are at such a premium. Yes he puts a shift in but he has to score as well, think he will be lucky to get 12 this season, if that. Think its become a mental thing with him as well now which will only make it harder for him. At least midfield took some weight off his shoulders this weekend.

I believe or maybe it’s a hope but he can score 15 plus this season. All it takes is a goal off his arse or shin as it’s a confidence thing and the goals will follow. The lad showed last season and early this campaign he can score although I realize he’s probably not a one in two scorer but hopefully he can be a one in three.

When I say last season I realize he was injured a lot but he did score some excellent and important goals.

03 Nov 2019 19:26:39
Chelsea sold him though when they realised he would not make it high enough.

Bowen was valued at £20m in the summer. Not going to happen in Jan for us, I don’t think.
