What do fans expect if we have a different system. If you have a system where your striker is in front of goal with the ball and he repeatedly misses what system would get him to score? Systems if good help create chances they don't put the ball in the net. Unless Bamford can start scoring no system devised will help him. He's got to do it.

Agree hess, Bamford isn't a natural striker, he may be better served playing in midfield. No amount of practice is going to make him a better goal scorer.

i think many are hoping for a system where bamford supports eddie as eddie is a gifted finisher. also eddies threat could give bamford more space which could help him find his goal scoring touch. I think the problem is bamford is getting no help from costa, harrison, klich etc. i don't think it is odd that when pablo was playing bamford was scoring.

Pablo provides the opportunities though doesn't he - sometimes the quality of the ball to the striker makes a difference to how it is converted. one of our issues is we are not creative enough and we don't create enough clear cut chances. If a striker has more time and space to finish they tend to have a better conversion rate.

Hess You seem to think the Bam Bam scoring problem is curable. It's not. He does what he does for the team. He'll still end up with 11 or 12 goals by end of the season presuming he stays fit. A change in system which I have wanted for the longest at home is not for his benefit. Why did you think it was? It's for the benefit of the team. It will play into Nketiah's hands and result in goals. Bam Bam isn't the goalscoring type whatever system is being played. His long playing career at different clubs proves it. He's a valuable player nonetheless but a change in system (at home) is for the team's benefit, not his. Don't know why you'd think it was to benefit him.

Alf Again, that's due to the style of play. Our football looks pretty and we retain possession but that's to the detriment of fashioning clear cut chances.

I cannot help but think that the relative positions of Eddie and BamBam remind me, and equate to, the very fruifull positions of Clarke and Jones, in the glory days. BamBam can do the hard work and upset defences up and down the league, laying the groundwork for Eddie to knock in 30 a season.

agree leodis,

neither are as good as the dons boys but at this level they can do the business if unleashed.
