Knowing that we all really dislike man utd and that is a massive understatement.
If any on here watched the post match discussion on Sky yesterday after the Barcodes beat them.
The panel discussed the dire straits they are in.
Its worth watching and applying some of the wisdom and logic to our own club.
The problem everyone concluded was they kept getting rid of managers.
They lost any form of continuity.
They kept buying players for different styles and ended up with a complete mishmash of a squad.
Then some one said some of the players they destroyed like Fellini, the wish they had back.
We are in a far better place than we have been for a long time.
We will not win every game.
We do not need to rip up all the hard work.
We need to stick the course, add a few decent recruits and keep building and improving.

Makes sense, if Bubs does go would like Carlos to step up as first team coach to keep that continuity. However you can only do something for so long without success then some times you need a fresh pair of eyes.

Carlos is trained the bielsa way so it would be more of the same.

Think Carlos is more likely to play players in form and drop under performers. Bielsa way yes, Bielsa mentality no.

1970 Good post but the real problem with Man United was the need they felt to get rid of Jose because many no longer wanted to work with him due to his commander like arrogance and haughtiness. He probably would have kept his job and the slow momentum they were building had he dialled it down and managed the club's expectations better.

He failed to do that so felt disrespected when the media started to hound him. Managing expectations is everything in the PL so the real fault lies with the owners for thinking they have a divine right to be at the very top all the time. Liverpool have the whole thing nailed down perfectly. They waited their turn patiently. Newsflash for Man Utd. You're not the only club with money anymore.

I am an advocate of continuity and rather than look outside if/ when Bielsa goes Corberan is my man same ethos but different pair of eyes and hopefully not quite as stubborn. Who is in a better position to give the kids a go?

07 Oct 2019 13:48:11
GIW yes, but my point was also in relation to the constant changing of manager,
it brought with it its own problems and did even greater damage.
We have a new template for the club, its not broken, it just needs tweeking and some improvement in personnel.

the only comparision i can find with us and utd is we both got managers that started flying and then wheels soon fell off.

if belisa is not the man and can't get us up I am not sure why we would go for belisa mark 2 with carlos? I personally would prefer a change that is proven

if i was rads i'd let belisa know he is on a knifes edge and close to being sacked and be sounding out chris houghton as his replacement. he got brighton up and kept them up. for me that c. v. is good enough to get us back where we should be.

Good post 1970 fully agree with the wisdom of ( future) continuity . and it would also help significantly if Radz and Orta improve the quality of player recruitment from now .

07 Oct 2019 14:21:27
BW seriously?
'Radz telling Bielsa ( the Leeds manager with the best win ration in history ) that he is close to being sacked when Radz lack of player recruitment in January is the main reason we are not in the EPL this season.

1970 I agree but the tweaking required isn't happening due to the stubbornness of Bielsa. That's my point. He's basically a good manager but he's not doing what I want him to do.

07 Oct 2019 17:21:03
no point tweaking a team if what is coming in to replace is worse than what went out. Our squad isn't good enough - even Jesus couldn't work any miracles with what we have.

07 Oct 2019 19:40:53
yeah bazooka. our form since xmas has been poor and is only getting worse. why would you stick with something that ain't working

poch did well at spurs but time to go

ole started well and man utd but wheels have fallen off

look at belisa since Xmas. his record ain't that great. don't let the new manager bounce fool you. that is the same with ole at utd. and we can all see through that.

He couldn’t afford to sack him. It’s true that actors really are barking mad.
