Talking about our forward play. Don't know if I am the only one who sees it this way but to me the players seem to take the wrong option, rushing the pass, the understanding between Bamford and the others does not appear to be there. We do not seem to have the same control, ability or quality in the final quarter of the pitch as we do further back. Crossing is poor from a number of players, mis directed passes also. Bamford appears to be on a totally different wave length or his reaction time is not right, his thinking seems to be out of sync with some of the others, at times it can make us look amateurish. It used to look that way with Wood a lot as well then it came good for him.

Bamford hasn't come good in 4 seasons now in fact I'd nearly argue that he has had 1 good season in his career.

Yet Bielsa thinks he is a better option than Eddie as our main striker. If Bamford has to play then drop him into midfield and play Eddie up top. But doubt this will happen as everything if working well and we are top of the league.

To me it is simple. We are predictable!
We always try the same thing. If you've ever coached that's the easiest thing in the world to work out a plan for.
Of course we are very good at what we do so sometimes our quick passing is just too good and can be effective but we need more variety.
For once try and take someone on in the box so the defenders can't just wait and play the % game (think Bamford penalty win and Costas should have been a penalty in injury time) .
Yes there is little space but even if it doesn't work you have the defenders second guessing which will create doubt and force a mistake.

If we were predictable, and everyone could come up with a plan, we would not be so dominant in possession and creating so many chances. The only problem we have, is our inability to convert.

I think if our crossing was better then Bamford would get some better opportunities. I think he’s pretty decent in the air.

Bright you missed the point.
We are better than most teams yet a good coach is happy to give up the possession (as they know we will have it anyway) and look to stifle and frustrate us. Pack the box and take away our space so the passing game doesn't work.
Any team that goes head to head with us gets destroyed. So any half decent coach tries to hit us on the break and absorb the pressure.
There is a distinct difference in teams home and away expectations so the above is much more likely to happen at ER.

IMO this is becoming part of the oppositions plan now. when playing Leeds. Let leeds have possession in ²/ 3 of the park, because we are not converting the possession to goals ratio that we should be. You would imagine that a lot of managers know now we don't convert an awful lot of our attempts on goal. So we are now open to classic counter attack tactics late on. Because as the stats show we concede most goals late on.

But Derby didn’t “let†us have possession! We took possession! They didn’t have a clue what to do. And it’s much more of an energy drain to chase the ball, than to have the ball!

ya i hear you bright but hear me on this, let / take ultimately both sides of that coin have the same face in a leeds context, possession galore no goals though, that as you know is irrefutable bright . We desperately need to score the goals that the possession says we should.

On that I totally agree Chris. Make chances, take them / make them count, and we don’t right now. Like I’ve said, something has to change, otherwise the domination and chances count for nowt!

you can hear the other manager saying. don't worry lads we only need one chance and we are in this. the players would all be lifted. to be fair if we can see the other team look like scoring the players on both sides must be able to sense it as well.
