Think MB might be trying to use some players as sparingly as possible. Knowing that he will only get a certain number of top quality minutes out of players. Will use others to do donkey work and all the running, then if not ahead bring on the quality players later in games when goals are needed. Think this is his strategy. What's the point of players leaving their best performances away at Barnsley in September. Need them on fire for the bigger fixtures.

1970 You miss the point. It's not about players leaving their "best" for Barnsley. It's about developing a consistency throughout a season and realizing goals win football matches. Both subs were involved in both goals. Great having a powerhouse bench but Houdini acts can only be performed for so long. Berm mentioned correctly that better sides would have gone ahead before we introduced our subs. Our form at home is worrying. 4-4-2 is the solution. Paddy dragging players away leaving Eddie in a spatial paradise would see us improve our home form.

agree with george I think bamfords movement and eddies pace and finishing would terrorise a lot of prem defences let alone this league.

Not sure I agree - against Swansea they didn't score until the 90th minute - should have been 19 minutes after the introduction of Costa and Eddie for us to score before Swansea did - what makes you so sure the Baggies and whoever else you see as being the top teams would have scored by the 70 mins?

Alf Their better players! Last time I checked Baggies are superior to Tykes. Barnsley would be the first to admit it! Swansea result was bad luck but this is what you risk when your big guns are on the bench. Homes games, we must attack from the off. We need to get into a home rhythm of going 2 goals up by half-time due to the combination of quality of chances we produce and the undoubted skill level of Ian Wright's adopted son (along with the pace and class of Coffee Man) .

Just taking that game as it was I think a better team would of scored the ample chances given but then every game is different

I do get the tired legs idea and it is working but I think just start with strongest 11 otherwise we will be outshined sooner rather than later I fear.
