Surprised at that one too Woody, especially the four year deal given Sams injuries over past couple of seasons.

But that’s where the business model kicks in, given he will be on circa 40k a week both Sam or rather more importantly his agent will do extremely well out of this move and irrespective of what honours successes Sam has in his career he probably already knows at this tender young age he will retire a very wealthy man.

Good luck to the lad doesn’t mean I don’t miss the old days of club loyalty and what medals you achieved. Having said that had a lock in at Malcolm McDonalds pub once where he was emptying ashtrays and working all hours, plus £300 a time on the after dinner circuit due to poor contracts and his declared gambling issues meant he was certainly not a wealthy man, he actually had to close the pub too due to debts.

Tv money has changed everything forever, just 50plus something’s like me wish it hadn’t, whilst still wishing Sam all the best. Confused? I know I am 😂.

It’s another good example of how difficult it is to keep youngsters in championship or lower prem clubs if the bigger fish come fishing! 25 k a week I think he has been earning, has he been satisfied as a footballer, has he fulfilled his potential, does he mind. Imagine a number of other people have earned good money off him as well. He’s possibly going to end up back in the championship with Norwich, having earning a stack more cash in the process possibly whilst not playing very much!

called it at the time,

Bryam was never that good, let's be honest he wasnt even the best right back at leeds so we pushed him to right wing which he was never good enough to make his own in the prem.

taylor was quality and was gutted when byram went i laughed and knew it was a waste of money and mocked many a west ham fan who thought he was going to be an england player with them.
