I see that the ever excellent (not) Teamtalk has run a supposed exclusive claiming Angry Deano has offered " (our) pick of" his cast-offs plus Hourihane as part of his proposed improved deal to prise KP from us. As if Bielsa, our players or our fans would ever have welcomed that Hourihane into our squad - let alone after his treatment of Klich and general tosserdom at ER last season. He fits right in with Deano's preferred player profile - considering the shameless diver Olly Watkins and sly headbutt Sergi Canos at his previous club.

Agreed Clueless. I started writing similar earlier but then stopped for some reason.
Whatever the truth of this ‘report’ I wouldn’t want Hourihane. Aside from his antics in that last match at ER, he isn’t good enough for us and neither is Bree. Henri Lansbury is a good player - and always seems to score against us - but there’s something not right there as every team seems to use him as a sub - attitude, fitness, who knows. On a separate note, MB is clearly not giving up on someone - Kent, Wilson, or some other Liverpool youngster? - or some emerging talent at Bradford? - and I’d rather he was doing that than promenading on tour the other side of the world. Great country (fact) and great commercial opportunities no doubt - but MB clearly wants to be preparing over here.

Clueless Hourihane Lansbury and Bree are the ones said to be on offer.

George - I know those are the three specifically named but couldn't be bothered to type the other two, and the supposed report does say those two are among the cast-offs on offer for us to 'pick' from.

Hourihane signed a contract extension with Villa last week, so I doubt he's going anywhere.

Manston - agree on Bree (if not good enough to be challenging for a start in the dodgy Villa defence last season) then he's not good enough to be back-up for Ayling this season, and yes, it would seem that despite his undoubted talent, Lansbury would be more likely to be competing for a place on the treatment table than challenging for a place in our starting 11. As for the unnamed Cast-off supposedly also on offer, if their not deemed good enough for inclusion in a dodgy Teamtalk article, they're not likely to be of interest to us. And I'm sure we would all wish Bielsa to devote his definite talent for improving players into those who started for our U23s last term (or new signings he's identified as fitting his mould) , rather than Deano's misfit has been or won't be's.

I'm certainly intrigued to find out who Bielsa was watching the other night, and pleased that he's sticking to his principles and not allowing himself to be distracted to much by Radz's vanity project trip down under.

Surely if we are being offered cast-offs they are still going to be expected to be paid. And if memory serves we right I think I read somewhere that a large percentage of Villa's turnover is taken by wages. If that is the case then presumably the "cast-offs" are on a large wage

So Villa think they can offer less than market value, but add a couple of players on to the fee. Players we then have to pay more for than Phillips' salary.

Can't see Radz going for that, let alone Biesla.

i would bite hand of for Houihane, did he not cause us no end of problems and didn't he score quite a few as well?

i don't care what they have done, do they improve leeds? are they stronger than what we have? then they are welcome

for me money plus hoiluane who is the better player would be a great deal but i can't see it happening.
