Jack Clarke interview gives a real insight into the mind of a modern day 18 year footballer tipped to do well in his career. I'm sure that they are thoughts influenced by parents, advisers and agent. It shows how ever much we might want to see players pledging themselves to the club for life like we do, these days just ain't going to happen! It was " inevitable" that he was going to leave Leeds! So when a premiership club makes it clear they are interested and dangle a contract that effectively offers an 18 year security for life, how does a championship club compete with that!
I hope Jack does well, but I seriously think he needs a lot of development and hard work to contribute effectively throughout 90 mins of a top 6 premiership sides game!
At least we have him back for a year where hopefully he has real motivation to show that he really does deserve a premiership move. Let's see.

Spaniard He's a total tool. By all means think it (still ethically wrong) but another to actually say it and what's worse is he knew he was coming back on loan. He's just rubbed our noses in it.

Only solution is to get promoted Spanish . Then we will have a chance of keeping our young stars . Just hope Radz shows the necessary balls and ambition in what’s left of this window as I’m sick of regularly losing my favourite players and the loan back is a small consolation as I don’t think we will see him at his best for another couple of years . On a more positive note that goal from Costa against Guiseley was a thing of beauty and more to the point none of our other players have the combination of power, pace, close control and finishing to score that type of goal . He really could be the difference this year .

agree RHC 100% have to speculate to acculate
the players that have left this club could of won us the prem maybe three times, it is heartbreaking to see our top talent leave
I also agree with spansih i thought the clarke interview was a interesting and telling read. i think clarke come across well and showed a decent head on his shoulders.

Thing is top teams have always had scouts at our U23 and U29/ 19s. You could spot them in the old days with their pencils and notebooks but now they just video it and watch it back. I think you will find that a few of the young ones brought in will look upon us a stepping stone as we are a high profile club with a well respected academy. Even lads who have worked their way up through the age groups will be tempted by big clubs if their way is blocked by players being brought in, think players like Huffer will be contemplating their futures at the club. So yes i am happy with the talent we have at youth level but do not expect them all to be here for long unless we get promoted.
