Last post from me tonight, but reading so much now about Pontus being a nasty SOB in the dressing room, and on the training ground, particularly after the Ipswich defeat to Kiko. I've said before, I loved the guy for his passion, but if you can't control it, yer not a team player. Maybe that's why he never made it as a top pro!?

Remember the rumours of him and Bartley almost fighting in training with one or the other grabbing the others throat?

I still like Pontus. can't see why selling him to another club has to make me suddenly dislike a player

I disliked Taylor, because he didn't play his last game for us, but even then I hope it was bad advice from others and I understand the threat of bad injuries to a footballers lucrative career

Pontus, good luck in whatever you do in the future and thank you for being part of my team. You aren't the best Leeds centre back I have ever watched, but also your not the worst

Now. to the present day
Wouldn't Biesla working wonders on Shaughnessy or maybe even Pearce (both over 6ft) for the centre back role be a wonderful idea
After all last year he was prepared to use Beradi, Ayling and Phillips in that role and they were no were near 6ft. Maybe Biesla needs something different from his centre backs.

On very specific point of 'dressing room' friction was that Pontus was definitely pissing off Alioski towards the end of the season, with what could have been felt to be mock gestures of affection. One such incident caught on camera Was the kiss during the home match with the Wendies. Video footage emerged of another incident in the Thorpe Arch canteen, and it is possible stuff like that happened on other occasions. Alioski was clearly angered by these incidents and I did wonder at the time whether he might have felt Pontus was questioning his sexuality. This may not have been his intention, but Alioski was obviously uncomfortable about it in some way. I'm pretty sure Bielsa would have picked up on this friction.

Alioski is just . Alioski . you can’t work him out or what he’s thinking

Can’t fault the lads effort.

Bottom line is that his attitude in general, and occasionally towards others was not appreciated, and viewed as disruptive. Much as I liked his passion at times, he did bottle it sometimes too. Like Axe, I’m pleased he has been part of our team, but this is the right time to move him on, albeit for a stupidly low price! He looked delighted when signing his Brentford contract, didn’t he!?
