Trouble is Corkwhite, Bielsa is flexing his muscles and wants Pontus gone. Think if we were offered less than the £5.5 million we probably would have took it. Yes we are selling him for less than his true worth. Yes he's been a good player, and yes we are left considerably weaker without Pontus. This transfer seems not to be driven by the fact that Radzs wants some cash brought into the club, this seems solely on Bielsa's say so. Only time will tell if we have shot ourselves in the foot. If we trust in Bielsa then we got to trust his decision. I am more worried personally that we could be losing Phillips and Roofe. At least we are calling apart at the beginning of the season this time lol.

Think about the leaks re Pontus, a bid from a championship club, possibly Brentford possibly 5.5 million, but nothing can be sorted for a week because of Brentford. It’s like saying, Pontus is for sale, if you fancy him for more than 5.5 million, come and get him! Nothing has been signed yet! Are you telling me that if a Southampton or Sheffield really wanted him they couldn’t come in at this stage and buy him and offer Pontus premiership football and a better salary, course they could and can, but will they.

The odd thing about this is that apparently Bielsa thinks that Pontus is a bad influence in the dressing room but did the lads look divided to anyone last season? They seemed to be a great team spirit to me.

Earlier in the summer, George, I and a few others were arguing for Pontus to be captain in order to motivate him and get the best out of him. Clearly Bielsa and possibly Cooper would not see that as a good idea. Remember, the captain and vice captain positions have gone to Cooper and Ayling when the players voted, not to Pontus. He sees himself as a leader and we have done as well, but perhaps the other players don’t!
These are decisions that Bielsa is taking to improve the feeling and performance of the team, time will tell.

Spaniard I think with Pontus he liked to have his say regarding just about everything. Way club was run, finances, need to recruit, playing tactics. I think he threw his weight around because for a time he knew he was the only top quality defender at the club. Others did eventually improve thanks to Bub but Pontus didn't adapt. He probably was disruptive but I see him as a good disruptive keeping others in senior management accountable and on their toes. Low fee which is wrong, had better be replaced but for me the much bigger picture is in my opinion by Christmas we are hopefully going to have much superior more powerful owners so in the meantime I don't mind a bit of house cleaning.
