U can never believe much u read but I think Clarke is going for 15 mil and loaned back for season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I object vehemently to a loan back.

I don’t really get it, business wise ok but what if we get promoted with him and then he immediately becomes our opponent, we obviously don’t have a pot to pee in and we looking at desperate times, if there really was genuine interest from Qatar we missed the boat again!

The positive way of looking at it is that if you think that this year can be another serious crack at promotion, the spurs deal gives you cash to cover loans and an additional player and we keep JC for another year as a regular sub at least. I would imagine the potential sale of JC was covered with Bielsa and agreed on certain Terms. Not a bad piece of business in my book. Not totally convinced that JC will continue to develop in the way people hope. This season really important for his development and needs to show more resilience for the whole season at this level. Won’t do him or us any harm to have him hear for the year.

Ah. Logic, Spanish. Well thought out posting! I can’t wait for the day when you somewhat disappoint me with your thinking. 😉😉🤔😂.

Needs to work on his fitness too Spaniard as he looked knackered after 30 mins last season.

The young lad Stevens is supposed to as good as Clarke maybe it will be his breakthrough year.

23 Jun 2019 08:26:02
From what I've seen of Steven's is, in one half of a game he can look a real diamond that would compliment the first team, then look like a real novice that shouldn't be playing football in the next.

George, I am with you on this. I would rather take full price IF Clarke has to be sold

All that happens if he us loaned back is that his performance doesn't have to be as intense, as if he was a Leeds player, to get a place in the squad. because you can bet that Spurs will put a clause in to say their asset has to play when fit. So a below par Clarke gets in infront of a bustin-a-gut Shakleton, or Steven's, or Gott. How will that affect the moral of our own up-and-coming future stars?

My be gut wrenching for establish stars to see an 18yo turning up in his Ferrari and bigger wage packet, to sit on the bench

No, if he is going, please let him go.

Spanish there's always a positive.

Thanks Brighty, just trying not to write the season, the chairman, the club and the team off before anyone has kicked a ball in training!

TTIAO, spot on about Clarke and being knackered, saw him for the under 23s at Guiseley early last season and he was absolutely dead on his legs. He is still very much a developing young player.

Axe, understand the fears but don’t think you will see that from Jack, if he stays for a year, he will want to be part of taking us up and Spurs will be keen that he is developed carefully and I don’t think playing him every game from the start will do that. There will be some trust in Bielsa.

Farsley, my view of Stevens exactly, would have thought there was enough there for Bielsa to get his teeth into. For me has an incredible burst of speed but doesn’t use it a lot and is still learning the backtracking that Bielsa requires. Hopefully see more of him at least on the bench this year or needs a more JC type of year with the under 23s to kick on.
