Carrying on the thread from below, there was an initial £20 million promised for transfers when Rads bought the club. This has never been spent on players. Rads net investment in the club probably stands at zero . Profits and funds taken out of the club have most likely reimbursed him for any initial capital outlay he spent on purchasing the club.

He has had in over the last 2 seasons £45m a season in turnover. that's £90m, add to that £10m from the 49'rs and the transfer money added as well, Woods, Taylor, Viera and Bridcutt £25m. that's £125 million he has had in if you add in the £20 million he promised plus Saiz money you are up to £150m.

We are told we have the lowest wages in ratio to turnover in our league at circa 50% about £45m over two seasons. If we are to be generous Rads has spent about £15m on players. This adds up to about £65m. The other £65m is what I think Rads may have used to buy the club and the ground at and £20m respectively.

Why do people post about stuff they know bog all about? yes you are entitled to your opinion, but PLEASE none of us with the odd exception (not me) know the ins and outs at ER! So WHAT if we have made money from transfers?, we have also spent money on transfers and what most people forget LOAN PLAYERS, and yes we may have surplus money from said transfer activity, but factor in wages, improvements at ER and at Thorpe Arch, the apparent AVERAGE year on year losses by Championship clubs of circa £ 15 million each and that surplus soon disappears.

So put yourself in ARs position. You own LUFC and have ambitions to get promoted, and yes you may have considerable personal or business wealth behind you, however are you prepared to become the next Ridsdale at our club and plunge us back in to the even deeper reaches of obscurity or would you take a longer harder look at things and take a little time to build something that is capable of achieving the end goal of promotion? as a businessman in possession of an asset that is already attracting some interested investors/ buyers I know which approach I would favour.
Being a life long LUFC fan isn't easy but its a damn sight easier than running/ owning the club and handling the expectations of the fanbase when their expectations are high but their knowledge of the day to day costs of running the club are woefully lacking.

We are far and above an average championship club so those figures don't apply to Leeds United arguably the biggest club in the division.

Spot on wilso we all want into prem even Radz. Just going to take a lot longer if we have no funds to replace outgoings to improve the squad. Reckon Radz thought we were going up last season that's why he was talking to Qataris but when we did not it was not in his interests or Asers to sell.

wilsosd, but we do know about it. The accounts are made available and the transfers in and out are public knowledge also. Questioning why we are not spending more money on quality players is a very honest line of enquiry, trying to shut down that argument is not. Wanting your team to do better by investing in better quality players is a very common wish among most supporters. Cannot understand your issue with this post. I can understand not wishing to be reckless on spending but questioning the money available to invest is not being reckless or even encouraging it. don't forget its the hard earned money of all the supporters we are talking about and in the end a successful Leeds Utd is what we all want.

How much do the accounts say we paid in tax?

21 Jun 2019 20:14:06
Who is this geezer Wilsosd? He’s actually talking sense!
I’m pretty sure LUFC lost money last season and with FFP rules these days you can’t buy yourself out of the championship.

No one looking to buy their way out of the championship. But do something quality players there that don't break the bank.

Interesting site priceoffootball has what looks like pretty well researched accounts on a number of teams (including us) . Useful idea to get a picture of where we stand, just found it the other day.

No tax was paid 2018/ 2019.

What’s the point in paying top money for a manager, if you not going to give him the tools to do the job, he asked in January he did get and we didn’t go up, he will have to work with the same players, he couldn’t get want he wanted from them last season what will he get this season lottery slot again.

Wilso, absolutely brilliant, well measured post. Keep it up.

22 Jun 2019 00:14:02
Well said Wilso and Toryscum! Roll on the pre season friendlies when we will have some football and performances to talk about . Will there be a Klich of this preseason who will come out and surprise us and who could it be, Ryan, Grot, Pascal, Bogusz?

22 Jun 2019 08:54:01
Is that what we are dependent on Spanish.

22 Jun 2019 10:47:46
Spot on Wilsosd! Just spot on.

Looks that way Wex, for me from last season three young ones who could have stepped up this year were Diaz as cover for KP and Coops, Clarke to fill that left side role, and Edmondson up front. Maybe Stevens wide right. Diaz has gone, Clarke is going so only leaves Edmo. Ones for the future? Lots of players coming back who we could have released, Cibbicki, De Bock etc so not sure what the plan is anymore for investing in youth for the future. Maybe a reason why Diaz left but reading his posts looks like it was not his idea.
