Been picking my brain about Jay Roy Grot. May be a lot of talk about nothing, but the more senior players that got loaned out last season, anita, sacko, cibicki, de bock, ekuban, okane, I'd imagine are all on the goodbye list. Grot also got loaned, wonder whether this is bielsa giving him a chance? He's 19, so the loan and regular first team football would benefit him, he could have gone into the under 23's set up, but I think they see him as a little more senior than this? Looking at his time at VVV on loan, he's got 7 goals 5 assists. Now he hasn't exactly set the world alight, but he also hasn't had excellent supply around him and has play a number of games at right wing. Think instead of going after a dwight gayle, or a proven championship striker, we bide our time, hope roofe stays, and bed grot in, at least give him the opportunity in pre season. Showed glimpses under christiansen I thought of what aplayer he could be, and with that build and athleticism who knows, a year under bielsa could change him completely, like phillips, cooper, dallas, shackleton, clarke, roofe. do feel as though they'll be focussing on 2 wingers, a number 10, and a centre half, I really do think that's all we need.

Think Bielsa can do something special with Grot, and have been saying so all along. There is talent in the lad, and MB is the man to make him shine.

Of the players who went out on loan do you think he could transform anybody else? Or the youth team players? Personally think to develop sacko into a talented winger may be beyond him, but i wouldn't put it past bielsa to do so, the other one I can't wait for is mateusz bogusz, I see that possibly being ortas best signing n years to come, purely down to the fact that shackleton and clarke were already with leeds before he came.

Nothing to lose in giving him another look with Bielsa's system. Looks like he's had a good yr too.

My old coach said, "a good big un always beats a good little un". and there aren't many bigger than Grot.
If he can attach the right amount of talent to that frame then we will have a right decent player
I remember watching Celtic a few years back and a gangly lad called van Dijk was in their side. Looked very average, alongside some old clogger centre half they had. Fast forward a few years. could Grot do the same?
Certainly if it was a choice between Ekuban and Grot, I think they have done the right thing so far.

I think Grot will get a chance, hopefully he can make the most of it in preseason. Got a lot going for him. Also often thought somone should be able to turn Sacko into a reasonable player!
