Before the silly season starts, on transfer prices, I would like to get this out there, that the club turnover is about £45 million. The surplus and borrowing is what we can spend on new players, plus any transfer money coming in. That is all! Furthermore the headline figure on transfer fees paid for players usually include his wages, for the duration of the contract, his bonuses and agents fees (it is the total price) . So all those talking about spending £40-£50-£60 million pounds on players. This is just not realistic! Likewise this is the same financial position for all the other clubs, except for parachute payments. A transfer kitty of £10 million plus some astute loans would do me based on the above.

1970 £10m won't cut it as this sum alone is likely to only acquire 85% of Gayle. I can see us selling KP to raise the additional funds needed for a proper kitty. I'd prefer to keep KP though but I can see him being summer 2019 equivalent of the Ronaldo Vieira sale. Sad but necessary. A transfer kitty of £25m ought to be sufficient to push on to win the league or claim runners up but a traditional English goalkeeper is needed. Westwood the obvious choice.

Radz will sell the jewels and gamble on orta finding guys in the 3/ 4 million bracket only reason we got stuck with Bambi is because Viera money.

George 25 million may cut it providing we take some out of contract, and agree would like to keep KP, sell the keeper, Bamford, and couple more should Bering in 3 million.

25 mill gets us a proven striker and maybe 3 other decent players, add three good loans and we be about there. Think Pontus and Roofe will go, Brown and Harrison gone. Dallas, Foreshaw, Berardi should go. Coops as well but would be decent on the bench. that's seven or eight out so would need at least six quality players in. Add some of the guys returning off loan and we may have a squad.

I don't want Roofe to go. Rest mentioned can.

I can't see Roofe going anywhere. I think lower level Premier league teams will be looking at better more consistent strikers than him tbh.

Dallas is a squad player, and he is someone who can handle pressure, beradi is good for back up, for Shaw I really don't like.

I’m amazed with the cooper should go posts. He had an excellent season and I’m pretty sure was in the efl team of year. If we get better then great but I believe what little money we will probably have to spend is better spent elsewhere in the squad. We badly need quality out wide and a number 10 to replace Saiz. A keeper probably although our current number one I believe is more than capable if he cuts out his rushing outside the box habit. And lastly a striker maybe? Roofe Bamford and hopefully Edmonton will come through. If they can stay fit 80% of the time and not be injured at the same time they may be enough because top championship striker like Gayle cost way too much. However if we could get a premier league young forward on loan to supplement what we have already then great. The young boy st Liverpool apparently is the business. If Bielsa stays I really don’t believe we have to break the bank especially as he’s had a year already and unlike last season will have proper time to evaluate the squad going forward. Just hope Rad don’t sell a player late on like Viera last year.

You maybe right Danum. I never rated Roofe but he did have a great season. Injuries done him but i still ain’t 100% sure about him! . Fair play to him though.

Be interesting how much competing right to the end of the season adds to the commercial income. Virtually every seat and hospitality space sold out and one extra big payday game plus the add on sales.

For the return we would get on Bamford now, better to keep him and hope 2nd season is better school of thought is right.

KP, Roofe and Pontus are the obvious sources of money if needed and none replaceable in my book. For me Pontus, KP, Roofe in that order.

None irreplaceable!

Although Rofe has done well and is a very good player i do not see him as a lone striker up front. He looks more comfortable cutting in from the left which is where he scored most of his goals for his previous club from. Bamford could be the one but needs to get some fire back in his belly. We also have Edmondson who i have no doubt will be a very good target man but how fast do we push him, would it be fair to expect him to be our saviour next season. We also have Malik returning, a lot of championship sides will be looking at players in league one who have impressed and Malik has been near the top of that list and he is coming back. Saying that we should be building for the future in the premiership now and buying a striker like Gayle is something we need to do.

Coops is another who is an average championship player. However i do not see him as captain or even as a first choice if we want to get out of this league. You have got to be able to rely on your defence and we cant. Ideal player to have in the squad but first choice no.
