Phil has saying most our MAJOR transfers basicly done apart from a striker but does that mean no more because we definetly need another left back and a gk.

GK yes. Left back, no.

How you feeling about the new upcoming season Brighty pal? I’m more excited and optimistic than usual and we aren’t finished in the transfer market yet, just wish Raphinia would bog off now as he is now becoming a pain and my good feeling about him is becoming soured!
What about you Baz how are you feeling, Optimistic or not? and no relegation talk please my mate!
If we can get a quality striker plus a GK then along with the new contracts offered to the young guns I think we are looking good, if they all click and Jesse makes them tic then it will be a bloody good season! I just hope we get a good solid striker who can give us 20+ goals along with goals from our new midfield and up the football league we go! The futures bright guys, it’s Super Leeds white! MOT ????.

Tough one Bright. LB or keeper? With no fit LB backup I’d take a chance and go for a new full back seeing Dallas out long term and Davis probably heading out.
And to be honest Dallas is no left back.

By major they may mean new likely starters, as opposed to new backup options. Or it could be talking down possible additional signings to show the Club are not desperate to bring in players they may subsequently make enquirers about. So, if by any chance we do sell Raphinha, the potential selling clubs don’t feel they can push the price up just because we have money to spend - basically flagging that we’ll be happy to walk away if the asking price isn’t right, so don’t try it on.

It’s possible they are thinking of bringing in an additional LB, but having clearly needed to work on Firpo’s confidence in preseason it would seem sensible to make it clear that the Club had full confidence in him by not including a LB as a priority signing. Now, having reinforced the point by indicating that the major signings are done, if an additional LB is brought in, Firpo shouldn’t feel undermined by the move, but see it as bringing in sensible cover/ competition rather than a definite replacement. It’s possible that having got married over the break Firpo may feel more settled and confident more generally, which could also help. Hopefully they’ll have worked on his defensive technique too, particularly not to get square on.

Here’s hoping that Firpo’s much better this season, and that me do indeed bring in cover/ competition anyway. We do seem to be getting linked to a few LBs this week, which could obviously be just agent/ paper talk, but could also be indicative of tentative queries being made by Orta’s team. Phil Hay seems also to have suggested again that we are indeed thinking of bringing in an experienced backup GK - possibly lending credence to the thought that further senior additions are not ruled out by the statement on ‘major signings’.

Wouldn’t be major signings if it’s back up.

That’s what I as saying - stating no more MAJOR signings doesn’t rule out back up GK and a second LB.

Just watching some Leeds related YouTube content. One guy mentioned that Rasmus can also play LB if needed. Having looked into this, he did play a few games at LB, both for his Club and Denmark u19/ u21, grabbing 2 goals and an assist. Clearly when he was younger and against younger players, but it’s possible that if Firpo still has issues, when Ayling returns Rasmus could potentially play at LB as a temporary fix if no LB cover/ competition brought in during this window.

Cluey Good ? posts as usual. Firpo does get squared up a lot. He doesn't seem a natural or gifted left ◀️ footer ?. Don't forget my boy Hjelde. He is tops ?.

JM seems prepared to let Leif Davis prove himself as an option after his loan last season, so with Firpo, Hjelde, and him, we have sufficient cover. Plus as someone else mentioned, a more defensive mindset, and stronger midfield.
And yeah Woody, I’m positive as ever. Delighted with the window so far, and 100% certain we will bring in a striker and a GK to push Meslier, and help his development. Don’t expect us to set the world alight, but I do feel good about a top 10 finish.
