A few words from Mark Noble at West Ham talking to Pep after last week's draw, i hope Kalvin has the same loyalty and thoughts. What a man!

He knows the feelings you get as a home-grown player. It is not just winning and losing. For me the highs were massively high and the lows were incredibly low at times. I had to learn in my later years to be able to cope with that and not take it home with me.
Offers on the table.
"I had it on numerous occasions but always wanted to stay, " he said. "We got relegated at one point and but I thought 'this club gave me my debut and had belief in me when I was a kid so I am not just going to chuck my towel in now and go elsewhere'.

"I made it a goal to help get the club back to the Premier League. "

Please read Kalvin this is so you.

Only problem I see in that scenario Dougie is no disrespect to Mark here but if he did move it was always going to be sideways

Kal knows he can move up to a higher level where the wages will be huge, so it's going to be a lot harder applying Nobles logic to Kal.

True enough CC, but my thoughts if i were Kalvin would be that if we do go down i will stay for a season, and if we don't bounce back straight off, then maybe look at it. He has 2 years remaining, give us 1 more and help us back, then sign a 4 year deal and get a statue outside the church like the great BB.

I know where you are coming from Chris and agree that in the vast majority of cases that is true.

I just have a gut feeling in Kalvin's case it might be a little different because of the relationship and respect he had for his Nan, who was Leeds through and through.

So long as the club's powers that be offer a reasonable contract (yes that is a huge if) , I think he might be the exception that proves the rule.
