Some decent players on the 'out of contract' list, any worth a punt! ? Tim Krul, Steve Sidwell, Junior Hoilett, Joel Ward, Bakary Sako, Robert Huth, Ben Hamer, Claudio Yacob, James Collins to name a few

Some getting on a bit and some will won't silly money

2.) 19 May 2018 11:13:00
So long as it's not too old, Richie the getting on a bit does not worry me greatly. I would sign such a player as a stop gap to mentor and gently bring on some of the young guns.

3.) 19 May 2018 12:13:28
I agree but at the same time, Premier League experience can be invaluable. As John Terry has gone to show (I know he’s a different breed to those above but the principle stands) , a leader/someone with a bit of know how can really do wonders!

4.) 19 May 2018 15:53:37
Cant see Orta going for any of them as they ain't injury prone or strikers who can't score or from foreign 2nd tier sides made a total mess of what just needed 2 or 3 quality signings for us to challenge again Radz is now giving him the chance to screw us again out of all the naff signings he's made he's the worst of the bunch some really good managers out of work so get shut of Orta and Heck now and let the new manager build for next seson no season ticker for me as it stands

5.) 19 May 2018 17:06:31
I'd like to see us go for Junior Hoilett, he always does the business against us :)

6.) 19 May 2018 19:47:02
True dat Stafford

mattgold agreed,

2.) 04 Apr 2018 21:30:48
One of the games true gentlemen and as honest as the day is long. His time came far far to early. God rest Ray.

3.) 04 Apr 2018 21:58:37
RiP Butch a great player, coach and gentleman.

4.) 04 Apr 2018 23:21:34
One of my favourite players from that England era. Intelligent, eloquent, and broke boundaries in the sport. At only 61; far too soon for anyone. 😔

5.) 05 Apr 2018 04:08:10
Great words, Great post Brightwhite

6.) 05 Apr 2018 13:43:04
indeed - a sad loss. Truly great player and a hard worker but was also very humble and made everyone who knew him feel special. A lot of young players could learn so much from that. RIP Ray.

7.) 05 Apr 2018 16:18:00
how nice to see such good respect, well done guys rip ray .

8.) 05 Apr 2018 19:37:05
RIP Butch

Not sure what you guys think but I'm surprised (with our current LB issue) that Luke Garbutt hasn't been linked with a return. He's a good player who, whilst at Everton, will struggle for first team opportunities. Potentially food for thought! ?

1.) 06 Jul 2017 13:09:02
He could play for a few PL teams and if he was to leave Everton he would most likely want to play for a promotion winning team so doubt he would come back to us.

2.) 06 Jul 2017 14:20:54
Welshy, that view a little hard on Leeds, don't you think?

3.) 06 Jul 2017 15:00:32
Perhaps he should sign for the Messiah at the Riverside.

We won the game and you’re unhappy. Sign of a good team winning when you haven’t played well. Why can’t people be slightly positive for a change!

Swadlad you're saying to judge them on their records yet (as you've stated) the one with 17 goals and 14 assists you're dismissing. I don't understand. That being said, stats don't mean everything it's more about their all round play. Saiz had a brief spell at Athletico Madrid and if they didn't think he had anything to offer at all why on earth would they sign him. Again, I'm not saying they're the dogs b*llocks because I (like you) haven't seen them yet. However, to be as dismissive as you are without even watching them is ridiculous. Stats believe it or not don't define someone's impact. I know they play in different positions but Ronaldo Vieira scored one goal last year from midfield. According to your reckoning he's a terrible player based on his stats as a midfield player. Aforementioned, it's difficult to reason with your logic when you haven't even seen these players play. I'd say the guys at the top have a bit more of an idea about scouting players than you do so perhaps try to be a bit less pessimistic.

The way Charlie Taylor conducted himself when he was still contracted was disgraceful. If he was selected to play he should have done so and I'm sure a lot of Leeds fans (myself included) would have wished him luck. I think it's unfair to criticise signings when they haven't even walked through the door/played for us yet. We're actually looking to make signings and you're being critical so I don't understand where you're coming from! ? Newcastle had a Premier League squad hence why they went straight back up (with a Champions League winning manager) so of course they're going to have better players overall. Just because you've not heard of signings/the manager doesn't automatically mean that they're not going to do a good job. I'm sure a lot of people had money on Huddersfield to go down with a relative unknown manager and squad and look what happened there! I'd never heard of Berardi or Jansson prior to them signing but they've been fantastic since they've been here. To add to that (& I'm not making the comparison) N'Golo Kante was 24 when he signed for Leicester. So your argument, which seems to be that 25 is too old to start producing top form, isn't exactly bulletproof. All I'm saying is to try and be a bit more positive about things.

Swad - you're making it out as though Monk was like the Messiah! Granted he improved us from where we have been and I'm thankful for that. However, towards the end of last season (when we flopped) we had no plan B and got played off the park by every team we played. Wolves, for example, absolutely dominated us from start to finish and went to show that teams had figured us out. If you went to any games last year I think you'd retract your 'deluded' comment pretty quickly. I don't think Monk was Radz first choice and on the surface it appears as though he went along with the fan's wish to offer him a new contract. Monk was living in a lodge at a hotel in Harrogate (a friend of mine works there hence why I know) for at least two months before the end of the season. His head was definitely turned by Boro and probably made that clear to Radz about not signing. Radz was in a win/win situation in a way (offer him a deal and it looks like Monk is the bad guy kinda thing) but I don't think he was disappointed that he didn't sign either. If he really wanted him to stay why not offer him a long term deal! ? I would have liked Monk to have stayed but at the same time it's important we back our new manager and get behind Radz who is delivering on his promises so far. Finally, I think it's rich for people like you to state on here that Boro are a better club. For the last few years they've been run better, granted, but a club is much more than that (fans etc) . You're probably, like Hardy, one of the small minority who thinks Charlie Taylor was right to refuse to play.

Alioski played ok last night Aus, particularly in the second half. Jack Harrison didn't play great but I think that was due to the way we played that he struggled. Because we effectively had a back 3 with 2 wing backs (so Alioski was naturally playing further forward) Harrison had to play as an inside forward. I'd say he's naturally someone who'd go past someone and get a cross in so don't think this suited him overly well.
When we took Saiz off we looked so much better and more in control.
Saiz is talented but off the ball he doesn't have the same effect as Forshaw/ Klich in the same position. Recently too he's lost the ball a lot more than those two so I'd maybe say he needs a few games out/ come on as an impact sub. I think the beauty of having Klich and Forshaw is that they both work hard but can both play too which is an extra bonus.
Happy to have Hernandez back too - he's a class apart!

Exactly Alf, well said. Not remotely possible to judge someone based on a few sub appearances.

He didn’t choose how much Leeds paid for him Wex, he’s done well all things considered. If you’ve watched the games and seen him play then you’d realise how unfair your comments are. How would you like him to justify his price tag exactly? Pay it back himself? He can only do what is asked of him by the manager and he’s been thrown into the deep end because of injuries to Bamford and Roofe.
