Loved Pontus (most of the time) whilst he was here. He had mistakes in him same as others but good more times than bad. But imo he became more and more a show pony and if Bielsa doesn't want him then that's good enough for me. If he became a bad apple then you simply must get rid, club far bigger than him. Yes the fee seems small but we can't auction him off if ther'se only one bidder. Personally I trust Bielsa on this one and as far as i'm concerned we march on without Pontus, and i'd be far more disappointed if we lost Phillips.

Agree mate, seems the vultures are circling around others in our squad now. Do wonder if the rush of incoming players was to smooth the way for the ones we are losing. still our squad needs lots of strengthening of pontus, roofe and Phillips leave.

Blah blah blah. Yeah lads just give him away. This didn't happen last night this is going on for months and has been handled appallingly. Selling an international defender for buttons. I don't care if he's crapped in Bielsas coffee cup.

I think this character assassination is a bit rough to be honest. Think it is coaches job to stamp on that and sort it out if he is getting big headed or disruptive. Pretty sure Charlton, Bremner, Hunter did not sit quietly in a corner and remember Jack in particular having some right ding dongs with Revie but was still there to the end. You do not sell your best players because they argue with you. Think it goes back to that free goal for Villa, Pontus quite rightly was not happy about it and he has paid the price. Guess he is not one to say sorry and sit in the corner. Should have been sorted. We are using this disruptive influence as an excuse in my opinion.

Very fair point Bielsabud, and fully appreciate what you’re saying. However, if he was my “team mate” back in the day, I’d have chinned him a long time ago, and if he’d been my player when I was a coach, I’d still have chinned him a long time ago!

Why Bright you need players with passion in this division and for me there are other ways to sort it but i think Bubs is as stubborn as Pontus to be honest so one had to give. Does not change the fact we have lost one of the best championship defenders to a rival for peanuts all because they could not sit down and talk. Sometimes its better to bite your lip and let that anger come out on the pitch. Every team has that one guy who questions things, man management is a big part of football and if he was crap yes offload but he was not and we will struggle if we do not replace him, White and Struijk not good enough alongside Coops.

Wex, can tell you love the free market, why oh why oh why would Rad the money grabber deliberately sell Pontus cheap! And if other clubs didn’t know that he was for sale, they do know, where are all these offers? Perhaps other managers don’t fancy a player who craps in his bosses coffee, literally or metaphorically.

As a coach, if a player didn’t question me sometimes I’d assume they didn’t care

Long as the line of respect wasn’t crossed, I didn’t mind the odd frank exchange to make the team better.

There’s a difference between questioning, and refusing / ignoring instructions. Maybe I’m too old school, but I expected players to do what they were told. Particularly during matches, and in the run up to season defining games. Don’t get me wrong, I like Pontus and his passion, but he’s only in it for himself in my opinion!

was at the game yesterday and came away disappointed obviously that we couldn't put in a performance for the near 8,000. can't perform to the max every game but we only played well for opening 20 mins of 2nd half. sick of conceding from corners and Saiz far from his best (wish he'd play the pass sooner) but overall no need to panic whatsoever. all other results went for us and as long as we learn from our defeats we'll be up there. frustrated but not too concerned, we march on to Ipswich together.

With the way we play sometimes what looks rubbish is mm away from looking superb and a lot of these moves involve Saiz so many of his touches didn’t come off yesterday but still the goal came from one that did. Not much came off for us but we could still have drawn. let's get `Roofe back up front and fit, Hernadez giving Saiz space and support with the trickery and we will come good again.!
