Can anyone put to bed the Jordan Rhodes rumour. Spoken to a few people over the last two days who have been spot on with other signings who seem to think it's definitely more than just a rumour.

Bookies have us favorite is why it won't go away. That said I don't know why people are so down on the prospect, over 90 goals in under 210 appearances in the Championship, might not be the best player in the Lg but neither was Beckford, he scored goals and won points, that was all that really mattered.

I just can't see us spending that kind of money on one player Gummie - its a risk and one that Radz is unlikely to take based on what he has done so far.

Is it so big a risk Alf? He has had a poor season so his price will have gone down, reckon they would take £8m for him, but he has been the most consistent striker in the lower leagues over the last 7 or so years. £15m for Hogan was a risk, same for an injury prone Assombalonga, £8m-10m for Rhodes is about as safe a bit of business as we could do especially with players like Alioski, Hernandez and Saiz feeding him chances all game long.

I tend to make a judgement on a players worth on his recent displays s s s. If he ain't getting regular first team action. With his history of scoring. there's a reason for it.

Thats fair Aus but sometimes a player just can't make it work at a club for some reason, that's why I prefer to look at track record over one bad season. We have had more than a few signings do nothing for us then go on to do well elsewhere, every club has. In the current market Rhodes is worth £15m when on form, that's just the going rate right now, I'd rather pay £8m for him out of form and let TC work some magic to get his mojo back.

Gummie. JR shouldn't go for more than 5.5m on current form. I'd much prefer Gestede over Rhodes. The way we play we don't need Rhodes. Don't think he'd fit in but Gestede would in my opinion.

Rather have a 1 in 2 striker for £8m than a 1 in 4 personally George, would leave Gestede where he is, eating Monks wage budget. Oliveira, Ulloa or Hemed maybe though, if we keep it domestic.
