If the money materialises in Jan, I reckon Troy Deeney would be an excellent choice to share line-leading duties with Blackstock. A realistic and gettable target. Smith is too raw to play 90 minutes in a team with promotion aspirations. Imagine the havoc McCormack could cause with someone like Deeney keeping defenders busy. Chapel A

1.) I don't think he's a realistic target, if I remember correctly there were prem teams in for him during the summer. I can't see him being available for a price that is viable

2.) Good shout

3.) As I said, him being a realistic target would be dependent on the heralded 'significant investment' going through. Was also thinking realistic in the sense of being at a club who are slightly out off the pace this time round, and him being at a stage in his career where he needs to try and move up to the next level. 4.) Watford wanted 10 mil for him, hence he is still there.

5.) Why not just pick every striker that's plays well against us! Troy Deeney this week? Who are next weeks opponents and whose their top striker? If he played well then let's sign him in Jan.

We need to be realistic here. Watford have ambitions like us so he won't come to us. Next stop for troy would be Premier League, sorry

6.) That's what people said about Charlie Austin, and he stayed in the Championship to go to QPR. Would help massively (as with all recruiting) if we were in the top 6 by Jan though. As it happens, I am confident that we can maintain current momentum with the present squad -but it would be great to press home the advantage, and really go for it for once (unlike in 2010-11!), before the likes of McCormack move on, and we have to start all over again. I've been advocating us going for Deeney for the last 2 years, by the way. Chapel A

7.) Lol, to the 5th reply - we've got Donny next week, let's hope paynter doesn't have a good game.

MOT!

8.) Next weeks apponents Donny

Maybe we should re sign barn door billy

9.) Deeny scored against us when Walsall beat us under grayson. Grayson could have picked him up for nothing but he went for barn door instead. JD

10.) Britt assombalonga from peterboro, can play as a winger and striker

11.) In all fairness billy barn door had racked up more goals than beckford that season. someone bagging nearly 30 goals in one season seems like a really good signing

12.) Chappel A, your funny, keep it up.
Or accept you got this one wrong big time as nobody is taking you seriously
Deeney just not going to happen in a million years.

13.) Id go for Gudetti on loan (perm) if we got promoted ;)
and Wells.

14.) Charlie Austin only signed for QPR after failing a medical with Hull City

15.) If Deeney is worth £10M Macca must be worth £30M.Trev

16.) Erick Torres! Pacy, talented and can finish very, very well. Plus his club are happy to get rid of him

Rhodes past his best -clearly in decline; many of those goals were years ago, and in League 1. Most likel would end up another Morison scenario -just more expensive.

Deeney is brilliant, but way too good for Championship. Will have to wait until promotion to have a chance to sign him.

Have you seen how close it is now? Far too dangerous for Jansson to get a tactical booking now -we might not make the play offs, so what would be the point? As Monk is no doubt saying, we have to take it one match at a time (effectively treating each game as a final) , and see where it takes us. We need our strongest possible team for the next 4 games, as it's looking like going to the final game now. If we make it to the playoffs, we take it from there.

We need to get up -so we don't lose the current crop as we did the previous 3 generations of Super Leeds talent! (the Lennon, Howson and Byram generations respectively)

I very much liked Wickham as a player when he was here -skillful and can run with the ball at pace (unusually nimble for a big man) . He'd be welcomed -but not as a straight replacement for Wood -Wickham is not an instinctive 6 yard box finisher / 20-30 goal a season man like Wood, more a general purpose forward.

Vieira is potentially that player-sound positional sense, clean tackler and tidy distribution. Phillips too headless -enthusiastic, but seems to struggle with the discipline and focus of holding a position; Phillips tends to stray further forwards, but does not seem to possess the skill for an attacking role. What do others think?
