20 million bid for portsmouth fc launched by middle eastern businessmen. they also say the trust could buy shares and help running of the club . NOT THE SAME PEOPLE AS LEEDS UNITED TAKEOVER ! however an announcement is due out tomorrow regarding lufc takeover. thursday meeting was apparently bitter but consortium wish to proceed . so tomorrow hopefuy the end of bates era and a new era for leeds ! MOT

Believable30 Unbelievable26

20 million sounds a lot for a League One basket case. Jus sayin ...

Agree0 Disagree0

God i hope this is true,..bates needs to realise he is at the end of the road now with lufc,..this current offer will represent the best he will get. If the takeover does not proceed then the hatred will only grow, attendances dwindle and his profits and hitherto the saleablity of lufc will decline. Just go now bates, you have a healthy profit from your time at leeds. Good riddance. LLHB MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you seen this confirmed ? theres nothing on the portsmouth rumours website and you would think they would know before leeds fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Yawn zzzzzzzz

Expect news of our failure tomorrow.
Nice one Ken, right bit of business that mate you toilet !

Believable17 Unbelievable26

Not the same guys. The middle east is not 5 square miles in area....person

Agree0 Disagree0

I though WE were Portsmouth this season!

pompey 12.5 million from middle east . leeds takeover gone down the pan then.

Believable15 Unbelievable31

Excellent news if true. We don't need dodgy dealing, money grabbing investment companies taking over the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the portsmouth website says nothing so I don't believe it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't find anything about this anywhere maybe it's true maybe not. If it is then it doesn't come as a big suprise, guess we'll just keep marching on as always!

Agree0 Disagree0

No surprise there then ?
Cheers Ken !

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not the same guys you muppet jump back onto your own site

Agree0 Disagree0

Could this be Ken bates ??
Could be he's taking pompey in payment off 1 of his many bent offshore accounts ?
Jus a guess

Agree0 Disagree0

12.5 wouldnt buy our changing rooms!

Agree0 Disagree0

Possibly, benjacobs seems to think the deadline was today for a decision on Leeds and if these guys want to invest then Pompey is not a bad choice. Have they had the two negotiations running side by side? I hope not....

Agree0 Disagree0

Different party there is more then 5 ppl out there

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is your source nothing public another wum keep of our boards!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip folks, nothing to do with the people involved in Leeds TO

Agree0 Disagree0

Pompey a better investment than Leeds it looks like that

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think the middle east have a population of 2-3 people or something?... haha Middle eastern people are taking over lots of football clubs (city, Forrest, QPR etc) so just cause some other have decided to buy another club doesnt mean it is the same ones that was trying to buy us. Also Ken would already be shooting his mouth off about them now if that were true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes cos theres only 1 person in middle east with that money. its like saying leeds are signing an argentinian player so it must be lionel messi.

how about going back for livermore on loan? The guy has played for us before and has come on leaps and bounds recently a livermore and austin midfield would look real good

Believable10 Unbelievable35

If the talk of jermaine jenas being offered to leeds on loan is true , he would be a great acqusition .

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would he want to come back when he gets more games for spurs these days and was selected for England

Agree0 Disagree0

Features quite often in first team now, I agree he would be a good acquisition but doubt it will happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this post a joke? is this the same livermore who played 1 game and said he was too good to play for leeds utd and went to birmingham city? the same jake livermore who was recently called up for england? for one why the hell would we want him back and for two you dont tend to get many england players on loan!! jenas i dont like but thats more realistic!

Agree0 Disagree1

Think hes been starting for spurs or at least played a few games already

Agree0 Disagree0

He is playing too much first team for spurs now. Even if they would let him go (which i would be surprised with them having euro football this season and needing a large squad) we would probs have to cover his wages and pay a fee, we could bring in Reo-Coker or Buzsaky on permanent a for less (think they are both still free agents anyway, could be wrong) and i think they would do a more consistent job for us which is the key to getting out of this league.

Gummie

Agree0 Disagree0

Livermore didnt go to Birmingham, that was Townsend.

Agree0 Disagree0

The same Livermore you mention as leaving us for Birmingham is actually Andros Townsend

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

It wasn't Livermore that left for Birmingham it was Townsend!

Agree0 Disagree0

4th post that was actually townsend that did that but get your point we had livermore before and he was carp

Agree0 Disagree0

Post four are you on about townsend

Agree0 Disagree0

He played 1 good game. and was rubbish the rest of his lone,
KEZZA

Agree0 Disagree0

He would need to have come on -he was distinctly average last time round (apart from that turn and shot with just about about his first touch against Forest -thereafter it was all downhill). Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

He is absolutely shocking, we want to take a step forward not back

I can't believe our fans are so foolish as to think that boycotting games or refusing to buy drinks, food etc. is going to drive Ken out and solve our problems. Face it, the less income the club has the bigger excuse Ken has to sell players and pay uncompetative wages.

Ken's made some big errors in his time at the club, but the one thing he's managed to do is get us turning a profit, unlike 95% of football clubs.

If we're stuck with Ken then the best way to improve the team is give him no excuses, turn up in numbers, spend your money, then he has no chance of saying 'we've had to sell him because of dwindling attendancesn blah blah blah'

These 'pioneers' need to take some of the blame when it comes to our club not progressing.

Believable39 Unbelievable32

Go back to Monaco Ken we read enough of your drivel in the programme

Agree0 Disagree2

The main problem with your post is the last paragraph. Fans have been turning up in numbers for the last 10 years and spending and to what end i might ask?! To see all our best players sold, players who are now equitting themselves very well in higher divisions. Your faith in KB is rather disturbing tbh, raising the ? are you from lufc pr?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this bates speaking "the rat"
cut the food supply (BOYCOTT THE GAMES) & the rat will go somewhere else

Agree1 Disagree1

Is this bates speaking "the rat"
cut the food supply (BOYCOTT THE GAMES) & the rat will go somewhere else

almost certainly!

Agree1 Disagree0

Im with the original poster on this one, is disturbing how little people realise the team need the fans to get behind them and stop causing even more negativity. GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND SHOW SOME SUPPORT!

Agree0 Disagree2

Turning a profit yes, and then syphoning it off to monaco. And by the way, he was selling off the players anyway without an excuse. Where have you been ? Thats right KEN you ve been in Monaco. MOT IrishWhite

Agree1 Disagree0

Turning a profit?! - yeah, by selling our best players and re-investing NOTHING! can't believe anyone would brown nose Bates, you're a disgrace...

Agree1 Disagree0

Utter bilge.

Ken has had 8 years to demonstrate he wants to see Leeds bring successful. In that time, we have dropped to our lowest position in history. We make a profit by selling our best players every year. What use is a profit when none of the profit goes back into the club?

Also read up on the financial situation at the club . Its terrible. We're headed for admin with or without Ken.

A bizarre post. Your attitude will keep Ken at the club , laughing all the way, until he dies.

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't believe we are letting Huddersfield supporters on here trying to start a boycott of our club. Fortunately we are not as stupid as they think. Go back to your own boards, nothing to see here.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance of doing what this post wants ,none at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the origional poster it dont matter if the fans turn up in droves and have 30k gates spending money in clubshop each game the fact is bates is only turning a profit by selling players 35 mill last season with 7 mill incoming in in transfer fees with less than a million outgoing so thats 3.5 million from last season dissapeared bates will always sell our players to create a profit id bates is still here com january expect another 2 players to leave in january i reckon it will be becchio and lees

Agree0 Disagree0

Original Poster here, I assure you I'm a Leeds fan and I'm not Ken Bates.

The fact is we've had to sell players to turn a profit, meaning that as a club we're not operating at a profit, so what money do you expect us to spend on players?

Our average gates have dropped by about 4k since League 1, that's 92k a season, at 30 quid a ticket .. 300k a year lost on ticket sales thanks to these 'fans' .. Simple maths folks!

Agree0 Disagree0

We've been going to the games, and alot of us spend alot of money at the games so he has no excuses, why should we keep doin it, hes filling his pockets instead of putting it in to de club,, thats y people are sick of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster is correct ... I can't see any way that a boycott will help the cause of Leeds United. If you remember Bates' statement at Chelsea when he said that he wouldn't rest until Leeds United were no more ... could it be that he doesn't care if the gate receipts go down and he has to sell players, the club get relegated and finish up in a situation similar to Portsmouth, in dire straights and maybe out of existence.

Stop helping him with all the talk of boycotts ... fill the ground and SUPPORT THE TEAM ...with or without him.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

To the original poster. Why do you think the average gate has dropped by over 4k ? You say the club is losing 300k each game because of these so called "Fans". I'm one of these fans of over 40 years and I cant afford to go to all of the games because of the ticket prices. On top of that the standard of our squad has deteriorated over the past few seasons due to the contnuous sale of our better players and the football on offer the same. Whos to blame for that The "Fans" ? Get a grip !

Leeds interested in bringing in Jenas which i think would be ideal as don't wanna see the likes of pugh because hes rubbish.

Believable50 Unbelievable19

Pugh was a really disastrous signing. To think that KB actually gave SG 500k to spend on a player, and he chose to spend it on a guy worth in reality around 50k, who seems to have very little to offer us! It actually says a lot about SG's shortcomings as a manager and his generally poor judgement of players when recruiting. NW really is in a different league, it would seem. And just think how different last season could have ended up if SG had chosen to spend that 500k on Pugh's fellow loanee at the time, Andy Keogh, who's done brilliantly as a Champ player since leaving us. With his control, and his recent scoring knack, Keogh would have been be brilliant to have in our squad at present, even just coming off the bench. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree1

So our injury list is somma. bromby, nunez, brown, green, norris now we are looking to add jenas to our injury list

Agree1 Disagree0

Jenas would be perfect!

Agree1 Disagree0

Great signing if it happens and versatile, can play all across midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Jenas would be a quality addition but where we getting the funds for this? The buyers? Spurs can't be paying all of his wages?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates never give grayson any money especially no where near 500k for one player {Ed013's Note - Danny Pugh cost 50K}

Agree0 Disagree0

AVB is wanting to send him out to get some games under his belt. As a result i don't think he will ask for a fee or a wage percentage (the amount he is on i doubt many champ clubs could cover any significant part of it anyway) but i would expect it to only be short term if that is the case (maybe till Jan) rather than a season long loan. Could be a great signing if he could replicate form of years gone bye and keep himself fit but its a big if after his last few seasons.

Gummie

Agree0 Disagree0

93 days max though if he does come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny pugh cost 500k?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you see the players grayson has brought in at udders i think you will find that if he was given money he would have taken us to the prem. he did well in champ with no money!

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Ed means Danny Pugh cost 500K (not 50K) {Ed013's Note - My mistake!}

There seems to be some substance in the jenas loan rumour!looks like he will sign next week.KEA

Believable31 Unbelievable13

Decent player who could defo do the jopb at this leve like diouf. could add taht bit of extra bit in the midfield and would link up well with the beast .............by the way did you know that when rodolph austin pours milk on rice crispies theres no snap crackle or pop. THEY SHUT THE **** UP !! MOT

mirror reporting Jenas is coming on loan for a month ! unless something has happened behind the scenes where we have an injection of cash ! there is no way we are skint or are we ?.

Believable32 Unbelievable6

I have no idea, but if it was a month loan would spurs even want us to pay much and possibly not even contribute to his wages. I don't know it is just a thought though. For a longer period I know that they would want a fee etc.
Think he would be a good signing though if he did come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats why its a month
