Just been reading that we saved paying £5m to creditors for not getting promoted. Well played by Cellino that money will go to season ticket holders.

Even better business sense would be getting to the playoffs but not making it through. Saves payments to both fans and creditors.

I don't think anyone would begrudge Taylor the chance of PL football, but the way he's gone about it is a disgrace. Firstly putting in a transfer request a week before the season started, then refusing to play yesterday. He might be poorly advised, but he's also 23 and old enough to make his own decisions. It's ruined everything for him for me. Hope he enjoys his 5 appearances for WBA next season.

5 appearances for westbrom are you serious? He deserves to play at a higher level and by doing what he's done he will get that faster, this has not come as a shock as he's wanted out for a while, if he moves to westbrom there is no one in his position who he would struggle to play ahead of, Taylor is a premiership quality player who at this level is playing below his skill level.

Bloody heck, Swad. are you his agent?

Swad, when he decides to play that is 😄

No I'm not his agent, he's deserved higher level football for awhile now so if he has to refuse to play to get his move quicker where is the problem? Most people want to improve and in football that is by playing at the highest level.

Scenario: Swansea come down and Bartley chooses to stay with them. Southampton then offer us Stephens (who's been playing brilliantly this year) and £10m for Jansson. Do you take it? I personally would accept that due to all of the superstitions with Jansson, I love the lad and have a lot of time for him but there's been a couple of times this year where I've questioned his decision making.

Also with £10m we could sign a quality CB, and have a permanent CB pairing to work with, one of them being a young English talent. I also like the look of Alfie Mawson from Swansea and Aden Flint from Bristol City, both hard heads with a desire to go through a player, and can play with their feet.

I think we can expect to see a minimum 4 new players and 2/3 leaving the club regardless of who's managing, don't think radrizanni will keep the players we have, we need new players.

I think 10 mil For pilot would be excellent business as long as we invest back with quality. Watched Mawson a few times yeah looks good, he was highlighted on motd this week.

What about keep Pontus and sign Flint? We need to keep our best players and not sell. Can't keep starting over with a whole new squad. If some are to believed Rad has a big transfer kitty waiting for whoever so we should supplementing not selling, with the obvious exception of Taylor.

Byram Cook Mowatt and now Taylor all gone from Leeds after coming through the academy . All great talent nurtured by Leeds only to end up at other clubs in the prime of their respective careers. Leeds must stop selling their young talent and build a strong squad that's needed to get to the premiership. Hopin for a great summer with some quality additions and a big season next year MOT

Academy is not just about nurturing players for the team it's also about investing in a talented player and making a profit. You can't be a championship team and pay premiership wages so while in the championship we can expect players to be sold as long as money is invested in Leeds United that's all that matters

It's not really a case of Leeds selling them, if master was still at club the I might agree . This young men have there heads turned when premier clubs start making advances and don't forget these lads have agents who will want to line there own pockets .

experts are predicting we will get about £4 million in compensation for Charlie.

Lets put this into perspective If there was still a chance of a play-off place and he refused to play then fair enough but with us finishing 7th and no chance of making the 6th place why would he risk breakings his leg with no contract signed? Its like going Skiing with no insurance you don't do it and Monk should of looked at Charlie's situation and thought yes that makes sense I will put Denton or another youngster in but he didn't he chose to make it awkward for Taylor out of spite because he wants to leave. Now say Charlie broke his leg in that match and was out for 6 months with no contract which premiership team would of took him then? and would we want him? I think not we would of said on your bike like we did Davide Somma.

Last time I checked Hardy, Charlie Taylor was contracted to Leeds United. Until otherwise, he's required to play for Leeds United when called upon and to refuse to play is a disgrace. Injury can happen at any point so it's not a justification at all and to be honest, you seem to be the only one on this page (and one of the only Leeds fans in general) who thinks that Charlie Taylor is within his rights to refuse to play! I know for one thing that if I refused to go to work I'd be out the door the same day.

It's quite simple, he was under contract. Fine him as much as possible. If he won't stick to his contract it shows what kind of person he is. He could have played and bottled every 50:50 tackle but instead he decided to not even show up. Classy guy your friend is!

Player is under contract to Leeds United therefore if fully fit should really do as the club tell him. If he did this and if that happened does not really come into it. I can see the point you're making and if Garry Monk and the club had said he could miss the game, then that's a whole different story but to refuse to do what you're being paid to do is in breach of his contract, surely?

I wish Charlie Taylor well in his future but its starting to end like this with a lot of players at a lot of clubs and it's all down to agents advising their clients wrongly. The sooner players have to speak for themselves and not through ruthless money grabbing agents who lurk behind the scenes sensing their next pound can't come soon enough for me.

He did have a contract signed, it's the same one he has had all season which means he is a Leeds player until it ends or until he moves on so he should play if picked. It's a shame it's ended the way it has for him as he was a good player for us.

Charlie Taylor aside, it's been a great season. Echo the sentiments of the majority and to sign Garry up. Only a fool wouldn't, but alas we seemed to be blessed with them sometimes. Laughed when Reading and Fulham, Huddersfield and Sheff Weds laughed at us, because 3 out of the 4 will have achieved the same as us come the end of the play offs, a top 10 finish lol.

Would of rather been in them than 7th of course but with wise investment in key areas I firmly believe we're not far off surpassing our achievement this season and aiming higher than that. I'll go on record now and say with Garry Monk signed and 5 major signings, we'll win the league. I fear no one coming down, nor anyone in the division, so let's aim higher next time around.

The only things missing were man management and common sense. I can see both sides yes, if asked he should have played, but was it worthwhile picking a man who clearly does not want to be there in a nothing game. Surely better to have a look at a youngster and save the recriminations. I would suggest that anyone clearly fully employed by a company but working their notice, before moving a far higher paid sunshine job, would find some way to wriggle out of a shi**y assignement on his last day. Especially if it carried a possibility of injury. I would either cop a sickie or do the job half hearted and when the firm had to send someone to complete it I would be long gone. My employers however would know this and, I would hope, send someone else in the first place. Maybe another way out would be to play and "pull a hamstring" after 10 mins. Who is to say which is the more ethical. Yes you are right he is a Leeds player but common sense must prevail.

Any leeds fan would give up their soul to play one minute for LUFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2017 12:09:12
Hardy, you are missing the point. I agree there is a risk and then he would be out of contract. But that situation only arose because he refused to sign a new and improved contract previously. That is the risk that he took, not LUFC. The same applies if he had signed a contract and then got injured, only then Leeds would have the risk, hence the purpose of a long contract. He could of easily got injured with two games to go, which is why I don't understand why he made this decision, he must of known the response he would get.

If you ask me, Charlie has never looked fully committed all season, had some good games and at the start a few very bad ones. I think he's had his heart set to go regardless of our place in the league.

He wants more money as he's been convinced he's got talent, by us, the media, and his agent. To me this screams greed, but actually if I was him and I was now 23, I wouldn't be waiting around for any club to just have a good season, I'd be looking for those premier league moves.

The thing I'm pissed off about is the fact that he has gone about the past 12 months in entirely the wrong way, and yesterday highlighted this. His lack of professionalism will cost him in the future and if he's just a greedy money bags, he can sit on the benches in clubs like stoke and West Brom.

I wouldn't be sad to see him go as he's a bad egg from a good production line that we have. We need to nurture our youth because there's raw talent within it.

I agree with you, but this will continue to happen until you get agents out of the game. They're the ones ruining it to a larger extent. Can't remember the last time these Leeds 'through and through' lads wanted to stay and play football at their 'boyhood' club. But can you expect loyalty nowadays in football, I think maybe we're all as naive as Charlier Taylor if we're expecting that.
