Now that Sunderland are going to sign o'shea and wesley brown?
Killgallon back to Leeds anyone? I for one wouldn't mind if it was on season loan or permanent.
Would add SOLID quality and knows what Leeds are all about
Sign him up SG & GRANDAD
Believable31
Unbelievable9
I too agree he would help sure up the defence, but he has stated in interviews in the past that he never likes to look back and play for clubs he has already represented, he stated this when sheff utd wanted to bring him back from sunderland but he chose doncaster instead
Agree0

Would be a great signing to have and we would have 3 good centre halfs with paddy and obrien.

No way, he's not the same Killgallon you obviously remember from 5 years ago. Saw him play for Donny last season, terrible

Right, so far Uncle Ken has said we are after 4 targets, but he will not state who. Fair enough. He has also said we have already missed out on three players who have gone to Premier League clubs C'mon Ken we could say we've gone for Messi and Tevez, but they they're ambitious and want to go elsewhere, It's a cop out. We can't attract the players we need cos we won't pay the wages. What worries me more than the lack of reinforcements is come the end of the transfer window teams come in with bids that can't be turned down for the likes of Max and Snoddy and we sell, cos the money is too good. We'll be in the loan Market like the end of last season.
Believable7
Unbelievable8
He didn't say we were only after 4 targets, he said we are in discussions with 4 currently
Agree0
Disagree0
I tend to agree about not having any financial clout. Lonergan, currently playing for a 1st division club has turned Leeds down because we can't meet his wage demands. If we can't satisfy his demands, how are we to tempt so called bigger names? Suddenly the list of Bates / Grayson (However many are on it) is diminishing. As for your second point about losing player nearer deadline day, I think you are correct. If we get more than our valuation we will sell, which will be no good near the transfer deadline.

Spoke to Simon Grayson at Oulton Hall the other day - he was collecting his car, complete with a huge bandage over his leg...he wouldn't disclose much, said he'd be interested in Smithy cos he's a good battler, but that Leeds HAVE NOT made any contact with him yet and it would depend on wages, with Smiths having to somehow go down by about 30k a week.... His words were 'watch this space' and wouldn't mention any names but says that negotiations are ongoing...nice guy
Believable11
Unbelievable6
Simon grayson already said live on Yorkshire radio he has talked to Newcastle and alan smith, he also made it clear ther is many high hurdles to get over though.
He said it was woodgate who he has not talked too. All this is old news, it was on radio over a week ago
Agree0
Disagree0
No, SG has spoken to Smiths representitives he hasnt talked to Smith Directly.
Why are people so besotted, lets discuss real targets Smith is too greedy.
Agree0
Disagree0
WHY would we want smith back, seen him play for newcastle last year (the few times he got a chance) and he seemed very static(not very mobile), also he's now classed a crock. IF you want to see smith in a leeds shirt i suggest you go to youtube, lol. It would be a backwards step in my eye's. we need fresh blood not old blood. as for the ex player thing only BOWYER could give us some thing. the other 2 we'd be lucky to get 30 games between them.

Agree0

Smith is past it, and before anyone says he was fantastic for Newcastle ask them what they think about his ability They are begging clubs to take him and his ridiculous wage of their hands. He'd be a problem for us if not directly then at the end of the season when we're left with his 45k+ wages
Agree0
Disagree0
He looked quite content at Newcastles training ground.
I don't believe he will be leaving SJP until his contracts up.
He's happy to remain collecting his big bucks for little imput other than being passionate and a cheerleader, which us fans could do and for much cheaper wages.
What a waste of £60,000 per week.

SG and David Stockdale spotted at the McDonalds opposite ER. They were chatting ( probably about the possible loan deal). The guy at the till told me Stockdale had a milkshake and that SG had chicken nuggets and a McFlurry. Hope the deal goes through. He is a Leeds lad and has looked a decent keeper at Prem level, plus England call ups.

I wonder how many of the people talking about how we need "quality" players could name QPR's back four from last season. Big names do not equal success. I'd rather see us sign proven Championship players than indulge in gambles on crocks and "prospects". I trust Grayson and his staff to choose the right players. Playing for Leeds takes a rare kind of mentality, a lot of the players mentioned on here as "must buys" won't have it. MoT
Believable12

Skysports.com understands that Leeds have made a move to take Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale on loan.
Stockdale: Leeds link
Simon Grayson's side are searching for another keeper after allowing Kasper Schmeichel to join Championship rivals Leicester, and have considered a number of options.
The likes of Jerzy Dudek and Andy Lonergan had been in Grayson's thoughts, but Stockdale is now believed to be their top target.
Stockdale has earned good reviews for his performances over the past couple of seasons but remains behind Mark Schwarzer in the Craven Cottage pecking order.
The 25-year-old has also attracted interest from Swansea but Leeds will be hoping their desire to sign him on loan rather than permanently works in their favour.

No one said Obese, simply because you fancy him doesn't take away from the fact that for a FOOTBALLER he's pilled on a lot of weight over the break. Simply because he isnt 'big' in a normal sense like us 'normal' folk doesn't mean that for a sportsman he hasnt packed on a bit He is factually looking alot chunkier and I too have seen the training images

The reality is that we need more than 4 new bodies. We have released Naylor, Higgs, lost Kilkenny, Johnson and Kasper. We have obviously also lost the loan players. All we have in is a comedy keeper. I think six players are needed; GK, LB, CB, CM X2 and an attacking player just for kicks who can play wide.

Only live up the road from sg so ill go knock on his door and ask about the rumours but i guess he will tell me the f.o. but lets not forget we all want a LUFC and not a club in free fall like the end of the Ridsdale era we have been down the old players route before and fallen flat on our faces (Ian Rush as a example) love him or loath him Bates has brought financial stability to the club and we wont ever be a top 5 club with a Arab or overseas investor ..

Well said, a good commonsense view - I prefer Leeds as we are to the club who were going into financial meltdown

Does anyone know what colour Leeds United's away kit is going to be? Heard a few rumours that it could be black? :(
Believable6
Unbelievable8
It's likely to be yellow as the 3rd will be last years blue one, Black wouldn't be that much different really?
Agree0

Black would be awesome yeah it's not traditional for an away shirt, but would be symbolic of a change to Leeds and if it's not liked might only be round a year
Agree0
Disagree0
Doubt it. The tradition has always been white, blue and yellow so I doubt they'll change it now
Agree0

Black would be awesome Yeah it's not traditional but is symbolic Leeds changing, if it's not liked, will only be around a year.

We've had a black/green kit before so it wouldnt be a surprise iit was just black id love that

When we were sponsored by Strongbow back in the day everyone wanted a black kit, and I'm sure some replicas were made up, cos I remember seeing a few people in them. They looked ace

Andrew Lonergan deal has stalled due to wage demands but still expected to be complete by the end of the week
Believable11
Unbelievable9
Word is that Everton are speaking to him today..

Dont consider him any better than what we had only improvement would be akex smithies, but again our poor wage structure stopping the deal, amazing how leicester with LOWER crowds and season ticket prices are getting the decent players we get the dreggs
Agree0

Another example of poor manegment, how can we let Kasper go and not have his replacement in place. For me this lad is worth no more than 5k per week.

Stalled? Greedy get i think £500 a week is ruddy good wage

worrying that we chose Andy O'Brien to model the new kit. He's not exactly a looker is he...does this mean nobody is guaranteed to stay other than him and Howson? Surely Snoddy, Becchio and Max would have been prime choices for kit modelling.
I can't see us going up this season other than the play offs. Leicester and West Ham are going to walk the division, then anyone from about 18 could get in the top 6.
Believable13

The unvailing of the new home kit might mean howson will be the catain and andy o'brien as vice captain??

I think Leicester will buy the title, but not sure about West Hams credentials. We could make 2nd but I would be happy with making the playoffs and taking our chances

Spending money gives no guarantee of promotion...look at Middlesbrough last season they were the bookies favourates

Snoddy, Gradel, Becchio and Jonny have done the summer range modelling. Catalogue was on the website. I reckon that its showing our captain (Jonny) and vice captain (O'Brien)

Need to diagree, leicster can spend all they want but if they dont gel there screwd, plus we all know kasper aint the greatest keeper with the amout of goals he conceded last year

Preston agreed a fee on Monday with Leeds over the sale of Andy Lonergan but the deal is taking longer than expected to complete.
A fee was agreed on Monday with Lonergan in Leeds on Tuesday for the usual medical and agreement of personal terms. It appears there have been some stumbling blocks over his personal terms which is no surprise considering the hefty wage Preston decided to pay him.
Phil Brown is hopeful that the deal can be resolved by the end of the week allowing him to bring Iain Turner into the club. If the deal falls through it is thought Everton and Coventry are also interested int he stopper.

Woodgate is going to Stoke according to the daily mail as Tottenham would not do a pay-as-you-play deal...
Believable12

Why would Totenham have any input in whether Woodgate would accept a pay-as-you-play contract?
Still, stoke is the more likely destination at the moment.

Spurs offerd woodgate a pay as you play deal and woody turned it down. It not that spurs wouldant offer him one because they did he just would not have it so they released him.

after that its a case of one in one out , but only players that SG doesnt rate will be allowed to leave .

Andy Lonergan will choose between Leeds or Everton in the next 48 hours.
The 27-year-old Preston keeper was ready to tie up a £200,000 move to Elland Road.
But Everton, who took on Lonergan for training last season, have made a late counter-move.

Everton have been after lonergan for at least a week if not longer.it's touch and go whether or not we get him.

You would think someone who is supposed to be lacking in confidence at the moment and who was dropped last year would take the choice of being number 1 keeper, play every game rather than sit on the bench.......i would guess if he chooses everton, he's only interested in cash and isnt the type of person we want anyway. will be interesting which way he goes if this is true

Think he will go to everton we need to sort out our squad soon so they can gel together before the season starts, there is to much waiting around
