leeds have bid 2.5million for wba's graham dorrans..steve clarke has stated they will listen to offers for him its not a rumour its a fact it will be confirmed next week

Believable42 Unbelievable81

Its not a fact at all, according to whats coming out of WBA, is theyre looking for 4 million for him, stop making stuff up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dorrans going forest

Agree0 Disagree2

Yea, other clubs reported to be offering around 4 million for him.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's a quality mid and we could have a place for him if the price is right. As always it comes down to the competition from other clubs, less competition then the more chance we have of getting him.

Signing of new players put on hold until virus in the Leeds camp has subsided. Potential new players unable to take tour of our "superb facilities" and currently unable to meet the gaffer who has been struct down. Club were hoping to have a couple of players in for tomorrow but likely to be middle of next week at the earliest.

Believable41 Unbelievable47

With video conferencing and virtual tour video and knowing who they want I find this hard to believe. Mick Jones is fit and well as is Shaun Harvey.

Agree0 Disagree1

Cant work out if your serious are not but it shouldnt make a difference matter what virus is about.doesnt stop us signing players.just means they couldnt pay homage yet.MOT

all that was said on ssn was that forest want to keep blackstock and that leeds are 1 of the clubs "thought" to be wanting him.. nothing official about a bid being made or even talks being held.

Yeah it is on the tv version

Believable19 Unbelievable52

04 Jan 2013 16:36:48
Reported on ssn that we have made a official bid for blackstock between 700.000 and 800.000

Believable45 Unbelievable22

Really think the money should go on a lively playmaker or a no nonsense batty type

Agree1 Disagree0

With all the hype and pull of the GFH takeover were all getting excited about a £800, 000 transfer ! You have to laugh.... Are they simply trying to pacify the crowd and show their playing the game. This doesnt impress me at all. A good quality striker in the £2-3m bracket would have indicated a serious intention to progress. My expectations for the clubs are not high for this season but this is not filling me with enthusiasm or excitement. Click BELIEVABLE if your excited and this delivers or UNBELIEVABLE if this is below your expectations.

Agree3 Disagree0

Happy with Blackstock, who is better than what we already have as back-up for Becchs, and a decent Champ striker -provided we also get a midfield playmaker (Boyd) and a wide man (such as Templeton or Buckley). Happy with the defence -that's not where the problems lie. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoa down there!
We're only 4 days into the transfer window
Give em a chance!

Agree1 Disagree0

We don't need another striker. Midfield playmaker and decent centre half more like

Leeds place bid for dexter blackstock dunno the fee but it is on a web site on tv

Believable32 Unbelievable12

04 Jan 2013 16:05:28
If Leeds fail in the bid to sign Dexter Blackstock, Warnock will turn to Troy Deeney at Watford.

Believable13 Unbelievable35

According to SSN, Watford are offering him a new deal, which for a player who has scored 8 goals in last 10 games and only has 6 months contract left, is normal

It also says this is to stem the advances of Aston villa, so i think it unlikely we could outbid their effort

MOT
Excroggywhite

Agree0 Disagree0

Deeney is a powerful leader of the line, and can finish too, as we saw at E Rd in April; would be very pleased to see him here, just a shame we didn't have the cash to snap him up a while ago, before the big clubs were alerted as to his potential. Chapel A

¢Dexter Blackstock's contract at Nottingham Forest is due to expire at the end of the season, and Leeds are said to be among those keen on acquiring the services of a proven goalscorer, but Reds boss Alex McLeish is hoping the experienced striker will see out the January transfer window at the City Ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lies nothing on ssn {Ed013's Note - I am afraid it has been on there so no it wasn't a lie}

Agree0 Disagree0

I was hoping that the rumours were false as don't rate him but there again think warnock has lost his drive and we should look at changing him before we waste money on his targets

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ghf for the ambition shown dexter is a player that shows how far we slumped in terms of real quality players we are goin for what about Austin, mackell-smith, Jerome, Campbell or mad max these are the names we need dexter can't even get in the forest side either warnock hasn't got the money to buy real quality or he has lost the plot dexter will not get us to prem this season or next average player at best fed up : ( {Ed013's Note - They don't choose the signings!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't be a bad backup option to Becchio. I'm fine with that, but as long as it doesn't restrict our ability to buy a winger with pace and a CM who can actually pass.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I know they don't choose signings but they can say no or suggest someone else it's their club when warnocks gone becchios to hit and miss need a new striker prem class use becchio as backup or as insentive to pull ones finger out {Ed013's Note - They have to back their manager and trust him}

Agree0 Disagree1

Bar Bec e no, blackstock head n shoulders above the rest of the drivel at EL. Get a grip Yorkies you are no better than us. We've both had a shocker in the terd tier of English football. lets not put a quality player down just cus of the dislike between our 2 big clubs, (no sarcasm intended)'

New rumour:

Luke Varney and 1.5 for Liam Trotter

Believable16 Unbelievable26

That would be great if true. But Trotter is valued a lot higher than that by millwall....think we paid 250k for varney(why??) So 1.75m, don't see it somehow!!KEA

Agree1 Disagree0

Just explain this... is this something you would do, an offer you are kinda trying to stir up because you would like to see it happen - ie you are trying to create a rumour - or is it actually a rumour? Because I think a lot of people dont know the meaning of the word rumour around here.

New striker will be Rob Earnshaw. Not a big fan of him myself.

Believable10 Unbelievable39

well day 4 of jan and no new players didnt warnock say something about getting deals in place so they could be done, GFH Capital appear to be following the Bates model of doing everything on the cheap whilst milking the fans for all their worth. Great take over I must say!

Believable22 Unbelievable39

Dont be too quick to call them out, it's still very early, give them some time!

Agree2 Disagree0

Only 4 days gone and plenty of time to buy or loan players and new owners only in 2 weeks . are you the a sad hudds fan who seem more obsessed with our club than your own .

Agree0 Disagree0

We wont know exactly how ambitious the new owners are about building a team until next september . i know its annoying because we have waited so long for the takeover and this is our 9th year outside the prem but thats life .

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a bit harsh, judging GFH after two weeks in charge and only 4 days into the transfer window! I'm sure talks are ongoing all the time with clubs/players, but these things take time and we want the best deals for the club.
I for one am glad it hasn't been announced that maybe we have a lot of money and/or a wealthy backer, because clubs would rip us off!
Have patience for crying out loud, I know that's difficult being a LUFC fan - JamesC

Agree1 Disagree0

It takes more than 4 days to complete deals.

Agree1 Disagree0

Origional mail sounds very much like a recent quote from a Leeds obsessed Hammers fan who writes a blog on Leeds Is that you HF? If so stop being a wind up merchant!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates is still chairman. However GFH have stated "we are very much in charge". Salem also said "we won't be spending crazy money in january". It's just hopefully their idea of normal money is above and beyond what Bates was.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, this is starting to look like a smokescreen, are they just a front for Bates, the transfer window is always january 1st, agents would have been touting players weeks ago, we would have had deals in place ages ago, you dont start looking January, you start signing players, I heard we missed out on Chris Woods, with Warnock saying once Leicester bid we couldnt compete, so what he's saying is aslong as none of our competitors want our targets we are ok, Roll on GFH, false hope again, new owners same tripe, as they said we dont need to be in prem for there model to work, sounds like Mr Bates to me!

Agree0 Disagree0

Technically there was a deal we bought Hall on the 1st :)

Agree0 Disagree0

The epitomy of 'jumping to conclusions'

Agree0 Disagree0

Contract season is upon us.
Completely incorrect to think that deals would be in-place, just waiting for January to come around.
December is usually when contract negotiation commences where players extend their contract beyond the end of the season (because after January, they can pre-sign a contract with another club for when their current deal runs out and walk away on a free).
There many fewer agents than footballers, They can't be everywhere at once. Give it time.

Agree0 Disagree0

And as I've stated on another post; the business model doesn't rely on Premiershipfootball simply means GFH are not going to bankrupt the club chasing success.
In a way, this does echo Bates's approach but surely we can all see the sense in not imploding like we did 10 years ago after mortgaging our very existence on success that never came.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree im a leeds fan .and i think this time next season we will be wanting rid of gfh .i have heard they are only here to run the super casino

Agree0 Disagree0

Salem and David have stated that premiership football is not needed to run a successfully club sorry longer we stay in this league harder it will become even now a club coming out of the premiership wil habe 65mill over 4years which leds have no chance to compete for players against its time for ghfc to take a risk and invest in players and if they don't trust warlock get shut get another manager and build towards next season our midfield is the worst I've seen our first division midfield was better

Agree0 Disagree0

Hall signed 1/1/13 and Tait signed to extend loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would GFH suddenly spend loads in the Jan window? you pay over the odds for average players, and it sends out a message that we're spenders which will only up the prices.

We've got a wage structure too, so getting people in will probably be difficult, cos if anyone wants a large salary, it could get other players backs up if they give in to their demands.

Couple this with not really wanting to sign people on long term contracts in case we get promoted and are lumbered with a load of non-premiership standard players, and it becomes a bit more obvious why we're struggling to get people in.

it's not all about the price tag, there's more to it.

If we get people in in Jan, they will be to enhance the squad, but at the right price, and for the right wages.

Real money wont get spent until the summer when they can realistically assess what we need to do to achieve their goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

I ca only assume the negative posts are from windup merchants, or just simply put 'mindless morons' who need to grow up

Agree1 Disagree0

Get behind the team lad stop bloody slagging off and get behind the team. There's a small majority of fans who weren't happy when bates was in charge and now even when gfh are owners. Same with SG and now some are writing off NW.

Yes we all expect a return to the premier league and yes we all want another taster of champions league/ Europe butslagging the owners/management/team all the time is not going to help.

GFH wouldn't of paid 52m cash if they didn't want to take the club forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

You misserable person. Complaining about GFH already. At least give them a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i think nw is a super manager BUT dont u think he is too old ?and is set to retire at the end of the season ?we need a young manager who is hungry to take us forward MOT

Any rumours about George Boyd?

He is just the type of creative midfielder we desperately need. Plus he's out of contact soon, playing for a team likely to be involved in a relegation scrap and he's rejected contract extensions at Peterborough.

For me Warnock has to impress during this window, he said in December that he'd like to have two in before the Birmingham game and that he already knows who he wants and that work was ongoing..... The Birmingham game is tomorrow and there's no indication that were about to sign anybody.

Crucial month for Leeds Utd, Warnock and Shaun 'useless' Harvey!

Believable15 Unbelievable12

Yeah, listening to their chairman on SSN, I wouldn't expect us to sign him.... He states he will not let Boyd go UNLESS the buying club match Posh's valuation... And by the way he was talking I don't think any club has come anywhere near...

scott sinclair to sign on loan and leeds have put a bid in for graham dorrans

Believable14 Unbelievable38

Dorrans got to be £3.5-4m. You cant realistically believe that we will offer this ? if we stuck in a laughable £2m offer it has as much chance of success as winning the league this season. Your forgetting our track record in the transfer market....aint gonna happen

Agree0 Disagree0

No way is dorrans worth £4, realistically£1-75 at most, again wages will be a stumbling block.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott Sinclair to us seems a little ridiculous don't you think? a player who stood out in the premier league all last season and you're telling me no team in the premier league will want to loan him before us?
Dorrans would be a quality capture and has been told he can leave if they get a good enough deal for the player, they turned down a bid from west ham of £5million in 2010 and at 25 we realistically aren't going to get him a great deal cheaper, i'd say he's a £3million capture at the least, worth the money for him and Austin to boss our midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 10:06:36
Kenwyne Jones to be signed for £5 million by next week, you heard it hear first

Believable7 Unbelievable55

£5m ? We couldnt sign Chris Wood the other week for £1.5m so I suppose its just a wish rather than a fact your presenting to us

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt they'd spend that much on Jones or any player. That's a 10th of what the club is worth (if you believe the £52m figure)

Agree0 Disagree0

If you sign a player then they are counted as an asset and their value is added to the value of the club so the fact £5m is almost 10% of the clubs current worth is not an issue, having said that I don't think we will paying out that sort of money for anyone.

As for Chris Wood, it was his wages that we're the stumbling block not the fee

Just seen rumour that Jammie Vardy from Leicester may be heading to Peterborough on 6 month load. Young striker who has looked to have bags of potential and in the Alan Smith mould, if available may be a great pick up without costing rediculous money.

Believable5 Unbelievable14
