leeds are looking to sign reece wabara for 800k, we also can't meet readings price for adam le fondre so mcdermott has turned his attention to johnny russel of dundee united

Believable36 Unbelievable18

Last I heard, Derby wanted Johnny Russell. Another team that have a bigger wage budget than us I suspect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Acvcording to YEP its a free transfer

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we get Russell, he's fast, and can score, just what we need, him upfront with McCormack!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope we get Russell because we need strikers ours are very poor

I've heared roumers from a friend that Stoke City are interested in Leeds centre back Tom Lees. Hope it's not true, can't see it happening, but will proberbly cash in as per usual.

Believable9 Unbelievable43

If we cashed in on young Tom Lees then we would have to buy another center back which would cost good money. This sale wouldn't therefore make sense. We need Tom!

Agree0 Disagree0

Go to Stoke with Mark Hughes as manager - talk about a backward step in his career!

Few rumours I have seen/heard over the past few days:

Reece Wabara is a certain and will sign a four year contract with Leeds for £900k when he returns from his holiday.

Noel Hunt is also set to be a Leeds United player and will sign on the 1st July on a free.

Sylvain Ebanks Blake is also a target for Leeds although we haven't made an attempt to sign him. The player is thought to be in talks with Middlesborough.

Finally, Leeds scouts have been over in Ireland these past few weeks scouting St Pats young winger Chris Forrester. No move has been made just yet for the player, Ipswich are also interested.

Believable41 Unbelievable14

Really hope not, they do not look like they could make a difference

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if Wabara comes wave by to byram. Both right backs and we Allready have Peltier so that leaves us with the inevitable. By byram

Agree0 Disagree0

If he's anything like our scout that went to see Goerge Best as a youngster before them Mank B*****ds did. He will come back saying he's to skinny and never make it.

Lufcsoot

Agree0 Disagree0

Bmd might be looking to play byram right mid, I know it didn't really work with white but byram has far more covidence and skill going forward

Agree0 Disagree0

To second reply, said this in a different post already but it seems it needs repeating, Byram is naturally a RM not a RB he only moved to RB because he was offered more game time in that position in the youth team. Also we released a RB so cover was always coming in. Add to that the rumours of us looking at CB's I would say Peltier and Green are the ones who should worry about their positions. If nothing else do you think McD is stupid enough to tell fans he is staying then sell him a few weeks later? Would kill attendances and trust before the season even starts. Think he will be open if an offer comes in and hell if 10m gets put back into the playing side from his sale if it happened it could send us up, try looking at the positives.

Gummie

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind seeing Byram as a winger he is good with the ball etc, however he could do with working on his pace a little bit. Saying that Snoddy wasn't TOO quick and has been one of our best in a long time. If Byram just works on his speed a little bit in pre season he will be the comlpete winger!

Preston are poised to win the race to sign out-of-contract Motherwell star Chris Humphrey.

Even with a fellow Jamaican in our squad Leeds can't convince him to come, and PRESTON win the race. Massive club like leeds and we can't even compete with preston {Ed013's Note - Who is to say he was even a target, if he is I am pretty sure he would chose Leeds in a higher division over L1 Preston}

Believable11 Unbelievable49

Well said Ed, people are believing social media talk & then getting all frustrated and uppity. {Ed013's Note - Lets wait and see who Brian really wants}

Agree2 Disagree0

The word is (from the YEP) that Leeds never showed any serious interest in Humphrey, instead having him on a back up list if we can't land our preferred targets.

From the players perspective, why would he wait and see if we actually want him based on if we get others? If he has a concrete offer now he might not have that in a months time.

No problems with this

Agree0 Disagree0

Hasn't BMD already said he's looked at Humphrey but he isn't his first choice. Let's see what happens in the next month or so before the panic button is pressed

Agree0 Disagree0

You seriously think that if Leeds were really interested he would have chosen Preston?

leeds will be linked to every winger/striker/defender/midfielder/goalkeeper that's becouse we are leeds united this happens every year.
BMD will let us know when we have our man.

I've heard today that paul scholes son was at leeds united today with his dad signing for the academy promising! also ken bates was seen having dinner with fat fergie and carl jenkinson arsenal right back might be coming on loan! danny fahy

Agree0 Disagree1

Jenkinson is set to be first choice at Arsenal, this season, with Sagna rumoured to be on the way to PSG. Would be great if we could get a first choice player from one of the best teams in Europe on loan but, somehow I don't think it's going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

No they are meant to be signing the dortmund right back after his operation. danny fahy

Brian Mcdermotts list of players includes 5 free transfers.

This is not him doing it on the cheap its just that 5 of his targets happen to be on frees.

3 of the players are rumoured to be Kevin Doyle, Noel Hunt and ste hunt.

He has also enquired about the availability of Jobi Macanuff and Matt Mills for fees believed to be in the region of 1 million both are former captains of his.

Believable31 Unbelievable16

Pretty sure bmd will be bringing in more than 5 players and it will include reece wabara after he has been tw**ting about joining leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he want to sign the old reading team.
He needs to move forward at leeds

Mot

Agree0 Disagree0

The old Reading team won the Championship

Agree1 Disagree0

Would take mcanuff and mills they are quality for this level but not the other three. Doyle got 9 last season, Noel Hunt's only managed 33 in 160 games in the championship we don't need more 8/9 goal strikers we someone that can be relied on to be reaching around 20 and as for Stephen Hunt he's surely too injury prone? Less than 50 starts in his 3 years at wolves

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to say noel hunt and kev doyle will not score the goals needed to get nus out of championship look at stats even in championship they wasnt impressive and ste hunt a winger on wrong side of 30 yep we planning on a longer stint in championship

Agree0 Disagree2

I doubt he will only sign players he has worked with before! I am sure there will be one or two but listing anyone available who he's managed is ridiculous. i'm sure he is looking further than Reading being a former scout.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where does it say all 5 are frees?

It doesnt! It states that his list of players he gave the board contains 5 frees Phil Haye said similar after the watford game too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whom only Noel Hunt and McAnuff were part of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcanuff has said he wants to stay at reading so can't see that one happenkng

Agree0 Disagree0

Reminds me of a year ago, when everyone assumed Warnock would be going in for all his old muckers from QPR -Derry, Hill etc. As it happens, we just ended up with Kenny and, a little further down the line, Tonge from Sheff days. Similarly, I'd be surprised to see more than 1 or 2 ex-Reading players land here. Mills or MaAnuff might work (and no one would say no to McCarthy or Le Fondre -but they are surely Prem-bound). McCleary always looked at Forest as well. However, I would be a bit worried if any of the other forwards mentioned above materialise -surely none of them offer much that Varney doesn't already bring to the squad (6-8 goals per season, as has already been suggested). Would also be surprised if Brian hadn't taken note of Warnock's distinct lack of success with players in the 29-34 bracket! Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Doyle was a good striker a few years back, averaged just under 1 every 2 games for Reading with the exception of one season, scored a good few in the prem too (did my fantasy football team the world of good at the time). The fact that he has before means he can again and a change of club could be the catalyst for that. Not saying he would be a world beater or anything but surely worth a punt on a free? Know he has been pants for Wolves the last two years but who in that team could claim otherwise?

Leeds have inquired about Stoke City central midfielder Charlie Adam. Strong source.

Believable16 Unbelievable60

I hope not!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance, he is on megga bucks and a Prem player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages and transfer fee. just go away would never happen, and to reply that said hope not get real adam would be great for leeds and amazing in our league but just no not going to happen we don't have the money where do people get these and who do they think will even half believe them. P. S we are also going to sign Bergovic from stoke as cover for Kenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not, good player, especially at this level and definitely better than what we have. I'd still be very surprised if this was true though

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to love a good strong mustard sauce.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be great for Leeds, but again, unlikely he would drop a division as well as wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was to move from stoke he'd go palace due to connections with holloway
