I am an employee of lufc.. this is not fact just a rumour between staff members at elland road... investment to go ahead at an esitmated value of £64million sterling... the stumbling block at the moment is that we are waiting to aquire thorpe arch and ground for council as this is a term and condition of buyout... papers have been presented and it is expected that lufc will aquire both ground by thursday.. then and only then willthe agreement go ahead which i anticipate will be announced next Monday... dont shoot messenger its either correct info or work gossip but sounds kind of plausable to me. swb2002

Believable17 Unbelievable11

Eureka.
A plausible rumour.
It's a fact that hitches like this occur, they happen when buying a house for 100k, they are bound to happen when this kind of money is being banded about.
If that's the kind of money that's changing hands I would expect the new owners to own Bates's wardrobe too.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

Like i said its not fact but as employees of lufc we se and here more than most.. foralli no i could be a major exaggeration but this has been going round ground for almost 4 days now.. so we will see i guess swb2002

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a very plausible rumour thank you ! MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal is not going ahead due to the price of er

Agree0 Disagree0

I like this rumour, don't know wether u work there or not but sounds down to earth for s change (do enjoy reading them tho, and anyone who says otherwise on here then y are y on it!) I always thought the ground and Thorpe arch could b a stumbling block if as is widely spoken that the council own it! They will want as much as they can for them

Agree0 Disagree0

What has this to do with the Council, they don't own Elland Road or Thorpe Arch"OTHERS" do !

Agree0 Disagree0

The council own thorp arch and a very high percentage of the ground leeds plc onw a very very small amount and that not rumour thats fact i work at elland road swb2002

Agree0 Disagree0

More interesting goss.... also just been told by another co-worker via text that another stumbling block is that leeds have several pending planning permissions ?? possible the propossed casino... which have not been granted yet which is putting the value ofthe business up and down... again please dont shoot messenger could be true could be work gossip..

Agree0 Disagree0

Swb2002-have read your post seems quite plausable, well presented easy on the eye..you then reply twice more, are you getting aggitated about some of the replies, because the wording does not seem to be from the same person...never the less a reasonable assumption to the delay. M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not convinced by this rumour. KB approached Leeds City Council for a loan to buy back Thorp Arch before the buyback price increased. LCC refused and the reason was not because they owned it.

Frisky

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like we maybe reading a true rumour thanks for the update true Leeds fans marching on together.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi MOT no not aggitated, just doing two things at once on laptop and getting text info from co-workers...... i must stress this... these are only work related rumours and imonly posting this info as its been going around lufc for 4-5 days now and im trying to piece together a source from work to back this up i.e who has said what and where ist coming from if i hear more i willpost swb2002

Agree0 Disagree0

No way Leeds are worth that much when u can buy premiership teams for less then that stop dreaming

Agree0 Disagree0

If the total deal is worth this much,i.e including Thorpe arch, elland road and other business interests and maybe more than just ken bates' shares, is this price still not possible? If it is someone very wealthy(and I not assuming it is or not) wouldn't they probably want the whole lot?
White teeth

Agree0 Disagree0

The council do own thorp arch, remember they offered it to LUFC for £5m, but it was valued at £12m & cheapskate ken still couldnt/wouldnt buy it

Agree0 Disagree0

"No way Leeds are worth that much when u can buy premiership teams for less then that stop dreaming"

Leeds ARE worth MORE than most premiership teams, especially in terms of potential.....

How many premiership teams have our fan base? How many premiership teams actually have NO DEBT like us?

How many premiership clubs do you think owe millions of pounds in Debt?

Do I need to keep going?

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

Plausable swb but for 2 small matters thorpe arch is owned by a manchester business man (romoured to be a frontman for bates)and elland road is owned by a company in the british virgin islands teak holdins or summat like that look under comapany house records for leeds financers not 1 penny for rent of eith was paid to lcc whats does swb stand for ? shef wednesday blue

Agree0 Disagree0

This does seem to be a plausable rumour, and thanks Swb2002 for it. As to what others are saying about the council and them owning large portions of land around the ground, this is true also. Ther are rumours that the council is considering in building and ice skating rink on one of the car parks further down Elland Road so where the casino will be built I don't know. Anyway, let's all hope that this saga is over soon and the mighty whites can go marching onwards and upwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of premiership teams are worth a lot less than Leeds United, not dreaming. So stop waffling.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

A pub can be worth a million £'s based solely on the revenue it generates, when you sell a business it's not just the premises and assets that count towards the value.
Some premiership clubs arn't worth 64M but then they have nothing like the fan base leeds have-hence less of a turn over, less market worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but this would have been agreed and in place before the due diligence.

When buying a business you have a "heads of agrement" this would include any clauses i.e buying ER & TA.

Sorry i don't buy this rumour.

Agree0 Disagree0

A quick question. What would we actually gain at this moment in time from owning Thorp Arch and Elland Road? Obviously at some point we will have to buy them back, but why rock the boat? Utd seem to have a good deal going on, and we can focus spending money on the squad. Surely it would cost us more to run both ER and Thorp Arch, so why not wait until we get promoted (after whatever season) to then buy both sites back without compromising the squad funds.

MOT

Roundhay White

Agree0 Disagree0

To the respondant above who woefully undervalues Premiership teams; with the recently announced multi-billion pound television rights deal for the Premier League pushing each team's season revenue well over the above valuation of Leeds - from TV rights alone - please tell us all which dreamland in particular we should be looking at because reality says you haven't a clue.
This is the reason that there is a desperate clamour for Championship clubs, not Premiership ones.
Prem teams a minimum of 120 million (even Swansea as their revenue will now far oustrip their wage costs).
I would think that around 60 million for Leeds (if inclusive of Thorpe Arch and ER) to be around the right figure. Gamble a further 10 mill on playing staff and you could well get to the Premiership, in which case, you treble the value of the clue overnight.
But, you're probably right. All these wealthy, successful businessmen know nothing. Everton, case-in-point. Care to compound your ignorance further by providing a valuation and possible reason why a club that's been up for sale for nearly a decade hasn't had much interest?

Jacob Butterfield gone from Barnsley to our friends Norwich. would have been a great addition, too bad our manager isn't interested in youth.

Believable14 Unbelievable18

What makes you think that? I think you'll find it's too bad the takeover isn't done yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

How on earth do u work that our? U do know he's bought "Jason" Pearce not Stuart don't u! He's only bought one player so far and that was a young guy! He can't buy youth if he doesn't have money yet

Agree0 Disagree0

What a negative side swipe of a post, I can literally hear the pout from where i'm sat. I know we're all frustrated but lets try our best to keep cool until the (hopefully) rosy outcome. I don't know about you guys but my social media sites have been taking a hell of a refresh bashing today.

Deal to be done this week. (thinking and hoping) Meant to be today but as you may have heard on news some delays/crashes in banking systems caused the money transfere to delay. I'm expecting someone richer than normal as middle east is the money pot of the world and bates is only going to cough up to someone that would make it worth while. Source: news, brain.

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Still waiting though aren't we, same old same old I just wish it would hurry up and happen

Agree0 Disagree0

The RBS/NatWest and Ulster Bank issues, have nothing to do with any payment delays re Leeds. They are all sorted now anyway.

Stop guessing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye, Sheikh Mo has a £200-a-day withdrawl limit on his RBS Advanta card and he needs an extra few days to get the last two grand of the 64 mill out of the hole-in-the-wall. He tried every machine in Yeadon last week and not one of them let him take out so much as a receipt.

Looks like Aidy White likely to leave OS says Warnock knows that White has rejected his contract offer but could still return to Thorp Arch for Pre-season, If investors are watching this space please hurry up with the funds as we really don't want to lose another Aaron Lennon / James Milner cheaply!!!!

Dan Flan Chester White

Source of info - Official LUFC site

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Just like arron Lennon can run like mad but no end result

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye meaning tht he rejected the offer he offered him before but he then offered him a better contract

Agree0 Disagree0

I attended most games last season and Aidy White is no Milner or Lennon.Gives the ball away cheaply and can't cross a ball either.

Agree0 Disagree0

White is no Milner. White is not even a Lennon. I've seen enough of him now to know he's a Championship player and nothing better. Probably never will be. Yes he's got pace but no tackle, no cross and he's not exactly a goal machine. Let's bag the compensation money and acquire something better on the left-hand side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I do agree he isn't a Milner or Lennon YET! what is worrying though is with all the young talent coming through Thorp Arch at the present, what's to stop the big guns just coming in as normal to pillage all the hard work and bag themselves a very good young player for a bargain price because we don't have the financial muscle to fend them off!!
Dan Flan Chester White

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with all the other comments, white is not that good of a player all pace no end result
if he wants to go then bye bye, leeds will be on the up soon if this takeover happens with a rich owner and he'll regret the day he said no to us!
MOT..

Agree0 Disagree0

If he doesn't want to play for us, I hope he is paying for the food and drinks supplied at Thorpe Arch...if he doesn't want to be with leeds...there's the door cocker!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people always blame the player or agent. Try giving the fact that Leeds pay s**t wages. Aidy wants to stay at Leeds anyone who has spoke to him knows he is hoping for the investment to come in so he can get a decent contract and will be quite prepared to reject higher teams to play for Leeds. And I don't know if you remember but James Milner had the touch of an elephant when he played for Leeds. Aidy had a decent season last year and he's only 20 {Ed013's Note - I have it on good authority that it was his agent pushing for a lot more. Aidy wanted to stay, but his agent was asking too much at the time}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will be offered a better deal if the money comes through, and I would seriously expect the rest of the team to be offered more too.

If we ARE serious about the future we need to pay reasonable (not inflated) wages, instead of expecting people to accept a low wage in return for the 'honour' of paying for Leeds and then expecting them not to move else where when we show no ambition and they can get more elsewhere....?

Loyalty is all very well, but these guys have a limited 'shelf life' to make their money?

Agree0 Disagree0

If he decides to stay, he will have a major difficulty getting into the squad, never mind the match day team ... he's alreay behind Adam Drury for the LB spot and behind Snodgrass, Rogers for any wing spot. Time to go Aidy, let Mr Warnock have the compensation money tohelp re-build his squad ... or alternatively, pay up Barn Door's and Andy O'Brien's contracts contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't need him. Let him go so we can get the compensation and buy one or two better players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously doubt that any player at Leeds will earn more simply because we are taken over by a someone wealthy. Majority of players are signed to two-three year contracts and 'if' we get to the Prem in that time, would most likely leave when their contract expires.
Not entirely sure I would want to see us storm the Premiership over the next two seasons. Only way to do that is to continue with the revolving-door transfer policy that hasn't delivered anything the last ten years.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who says we don't need him...I wouldn't want you in charge of talent spotting or coaching at my club! The lad has tremendous potential -one of the leading young full backs in the country, and a nailed-on Premier star of the future. Chapel A

I posted at the weekend that the deal will not be announced until Wednesday. This is because the money won't clear until Wednesday because it was only sent on Monday. 1pm announcement.

Believable10 Unbelievable21

I believe this! But I also believed we'd get it today so. I truly think this week is the week and the new owner, in my eyes, has to be mega rich or bates wouldn't sell. (this isn't because he wants the best for Leeds he just wants all the money, but can't blame him not a born and bred Leeds fan, not saying new owners are
going to be)

BigB MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

All deal wouldn't be hanging on a bank transfer... With payments between large companies there isn't a clearing process, the funds would be cleared as soon as the money was sent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Waiting for money to clear? What has he wrote a cheque? you can make instant transfers all the time whether £1 or £100mill. And i doubt the transfer is being done thru a high street bradford and bingley. The money will be transferred to bates at the exact time and day they want it too. Its all just speculation why not sone yet. I know this as work at a bank

Agree0 Disagree0

Your lieing you never worked in a bank and you have no idea. It 3 days when the amount is above 300,000 it has to go through certain security checks and can take upto a week. It's not like paying your phone bill. Ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, money of this amount takes days anyway all good things come to those who way , but please hurry up.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny I used to work in a bank over 20 years ago and sterling/foreign payments were made instantly through the bank chaps or bacs system even then!
So you are talking b****cks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Money will go through lawyers anyway. Plus any mega rich owner's bank will provide funding across to other banks through clearing mechanism for large amounts. I think the process is more for lawyers at the moment and also press releases and communications. If it's an organisation acquiring leeds which is quoted on any stock exchange they would have to annouce it to their shareholders and gain approval from the acquiring board. Hence my thoughts its an individual acquiring leeds...also don't forget Bates will have to pay quite a hefty tax bill for capital gains if he recieves a huge goodwill payment, I'm sure this will have been an issue to calculate due to the various shareholdings in difference countries...imagine the paperwork especially and Bates will no doubt want tax indemenities and not want to give any warranties on the purchase. I think it will be quite complicated. Also the casino and west stand statements in the press were in my mind 'public annoucements' i.e. part of the pre acquisition planning applications to ensure that no objections were raised. All says to me a big owner. One final thought...there's obviously a news blackout on the takeover, no one knows or if they did they aren't saying who the new owner is...takes some resources to pull that one off, big time!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop telling porkies, how could you have worked in a bank for 20 yrs when your only 12

Agree0 Disagree0

Your all wrong my dads, sisters boyfriends mams best friend used to work for Curry's and they do sell HD T.V's oh hang on a minute wrong thread! It will happen when it happens ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Agree0 Disagree0

It'll make him feel proper champion if tomorrow's the day, he can hold his head high and tell all his mates, "I told em so, them on the rumours site".
He'll be smug for months to come, it'll take a long time for this ego to diminish.
At best it's a good guess and the time it was posted left very little of today for an announcement.

Take over on friday should be official then. From the Middle east and looking to inject 10 million for the first season in the championship to keep us steady which should be enough to push us into the premier league and then it gets better :) Looks like we will be trying to sign QPR rejects then lol

Believable8 Unbelievable14

10 mill hay thats bull we can only spend 6 mill due to new rules

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought the new rules didnt apply in championship till next season might be wrong .
and it will take more than 10m to get to premiership half your team refusing new deals so you have a fair few to replace i hope the takeover happens sharpish want clayton to play alongside norwood
jonny hudds

Agree0 Disagree0

Rules there to be broken, will sponsor or name something with anything above 6 million, like man city didnt sponsor ground for 450 million for nothing o.w

Looks like we have lost out to ipswich for the signiture of luke chambers. Source - ipswich vital football website.

I personally feel we should be aiming to sign players of a high calibre than this (if the takeover goes through). He made 43 league appearances last season, virtually an ever present, and forest conceded 63 league goals.

Once the investment arrives i'm sure NW can spend some decent money on a highly rated CB to partner Pearce.

if it is the lifelong Leeds fan Al-Khalifa from bahrain (who tried to buy us when Bates stepped in) - then this could be a large reason for the secrecy - human rights record is poor ..David Cameron & the queen got stick for inviting them to dine in the UK ..so not a popular family here and not the choice we would want as a club ? wont bother Bates tho ! expect a lot of Human rights protests over this if its him as his regime are not popular TSB will have to do another good story now - like their recent one on Bates dealings with Smith and Apartheid - a good read

They were arrested, imprisoned and many were tortured. Some prisoners claim that they were personally beaten or tortured by Sheikh Nasser himself.

And you physically saw the money handed over yeah? must have been a fKIN MASSIVE envelope!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cash? me thinks not. what a fool some people are

Agree0 Disagree0

How big a bag was it? did it say swag on it? Was Bates wearing a mask and stripey jumper? Could you see any silver, you know like an FA Cup or a couple of Fairs Cups?

Agree0 Disagree0

'handed the money over' suggests it would be cash. a deal worth millions of pounds would not be done in cash you imbosile.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have they handed it to him in 3 black brief cases ? Are there Russian Mafia everywhere ? Black Mercs with blackout windows ? Ed Why do you let these kinds of posts get through your filtering system ?

I dont usually post on here but thought this was worth a note (although it could be coinsedence)

I work in the high Rise Construction Industry and have heard that Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani will be in the UK to open the new Shard Building on Thursday (confirmed by Sky News).

I know this is an optimistic longshot but could he be killing 2 birds with one stone and wrapping up a deal for LUFC.

MOT

Believable3 Unbelievable11

This is like adding 1 and 1 and saying the answer is 3. On what possible basis could you imagine that his visit to open a major building that his 1Billion investment has built, has anything to do with a piddling little transaction like a possible Leeds Utd takeover. This guy won't have even heard of yorkshire let alone LUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

As I posted yesterday!
The UK representative is Garry Cook and the owner is the Al Thani family (Qatar)

Agree0 Disagree0

Original Poster here;

Comment 1 - The last sentance says "an optimistic longshot" not "solid fact" but since you seem to know who it isnt maybe you could enlighten us all by informing us who is actually buying LUFC - dont forget this is a rumour page not the press office at sky news.

Comment 2 - i did see you post yesterday and thought this might add abit more truth to the story

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

To the Gary Cook / Al Thani reply.
The Al Thani family regularly get linked with football takeovers which never happen, so doubt this is them in for Leeds. - for example rumours suggested that Sheikh Al Thani made a bid for Manchester United in 2011 and was preparing a £2 Billion takeover bid which did not happen.
In 2012 it was rumoured that Sheik Al Thani was involved in a bid for Rangers F.C. we all know what happened there.
On 30 March 2012 sheik Al Thani offered to buy KF Tirana, the details aren't published yet, suggesting it did not happen.
I do not think this is the guy buying Leeds based on that evidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt it with three wives and twenty two kids he'll be too busy to bother with Leeds. Apparently tried to buy utd for two billion from the glassiers. Does that mean by your logic that if he buys Leeds he'll have a spare 1.94 billion left over to spend on transfers.

Can't wait to see who we sign :)

If it is then we're really cooking on gas mark 9

Agree0 Disagree0

Take a hell of a genius to come up with a chant with his name in it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani theres only one Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani one Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani, God imagine singing the bates out chant to this!

Id take 1.8 million right now, thank you very much Lambert

We won't get more than 1.25M for McCormack so this rumor is a bad one.

As always with Leeds, it seems like we're going to be waiting again rather than doing this the easy way.

Someone mentioned having spoken to Shaun Harvey yesterday regarding issues with the money transfer. Although I suspect that person is a WUM, it turns out that is pretty much on the money.

A friend of mine has very close links at the club, and it sounds as if there has been some issue in the transfer of the money, and the club are desperate to make an announcement as soon as the funds are received.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Look, funds for this type of transaction are held in an escrow account during the transaction. If the funds are not there yet, then this is going pear shaped if you expect an announcement this week.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the case should it be completed today or tomorrow? Ed please enlighten me how long does it take for a money transfer of a large sum? {Ed013's Note - I really don't know buddy, it could be a day, 5 working days, I just don't know}

Looks like Luke Chambers has opted fro Ipswich according to vital football. Shame, I think he would have been a good squad addition.

JT

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Ya well if he chooses Ipswich instead of us then let him off it's his loss not ours as the saying goes there's plenty more fish in the sea.

Chambers ain't that good a CB anyway, we don't even know if Warnock was after him for sure.

My cousins best mates with jonny howson,he's just texted him saying that the takeovers complete and norwich have just turned down 3.5mill for him, they've also put in 1.5 for mcgugan,3mill for gradel and 750k for prately! he expects alot of action from leeds over the summer!

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Interesting, Warnock must be texting all of his transfer activity to Jonny as he does it. I'm sure its pretty common practice to text a random player in a team in the league above with exactly what you're bidding and for whom. Happens all the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have bid 3.5m for howson noway he's not wort half that I'm glad they rejected it we could get 2 or 3 better players for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

As if we're gonna buy back a player who left 6months ago. get real or get a job

Agree0 Disagree0

Learn to read - the lad says Norwich turned down bid ( not from leeds ) be from Villa you numptys ......work it out - and the targets like Gradel he mentions are norwich targets not leeds. Howson will have knowledge of that ....nowt to do with warnock you plonkers

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi I am Jonny's Best Mate...Please Ignore my cousin he does speak some S**t at times!

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you playing a football manager gamr by any chance

Agree0 Disagree0

I text Jonny myself the other day. He's very well enjoying a summer fishing break as usual. Nice to hear!

Agree0 Disagree0

Although this is a lot of information for one person to know I swear the general public seem to think that professional footballers are gagged, I am best mates with one pro footballer and friends with plenty of others and let me tell you now that they do talk and they talk about things they shouldn't and infact leak information they shouldn't, so can't see how you can slate this guy without actually knowing him whether he is telling the truth or not. {Ed001's Note - trouble is, most of the time they know nothing and are just gossiping.}

According to Wiki Peltier already a Leeds player

Believable9 Unbelievable12

Never believe what's posted on Wiki, when will people realise!!!!!

It's wiki....he may be very close but it's wiki, I could edit it and say Messi is a Leeds player, but he isn't...yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

No he's not I just checked. There's not even any mention of him being linked with Leeds on Wiki

Agree0 Disagree0

My pet dog is more reliable than wiki at the moment....... MMmmmm just read on wiki.... Richard Branson Bought LUFC with bates to stay as chairmen until he is at least 137... NOT..... Ignore wiki.

Not on my wiki he isnt, says hes still leicester!!

Local billionaire Andy fletcher to take control of lufc tomorrow, with Lucas radebe to be unveiled on coaching staff! MOT

Scottyfletchls25 {Ed013's Note - The same Lucas Radebe that has just taken up a role in South Africa!}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

There is no local Billionaire called Andy Fletcher, if you mean the guy from Depeche Mode he is not likely to be that rich.

Agree0 Disagree0

Read the news before wasting our time with factless posts. As Ed says Lucas has taken a post with South Africa. Good luck to him from all Leeds fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people post such sh*te on this website so often. Get back to school son

My mates dad is a scout at lufc, and rumour going round is that scouts are to be sent to a few non league games around the Leeds area at the start of the season to see if there are any potential players out there. Pana

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Well with the scouts that was there last year i dont think thay could spot a good player playing in a bacelona team any scout left over from grayson era should get the bullet

some of the crap thay brought in

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but isn't that what a scout is supposed to do

Agree0 Disagree0

Breaking news! Shock... Horror!
Scouts are going to watch matches!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's exactly what a scout should be doing .....looking at all possibilities or do you think scouts should be adjusting their woggles & googling/you tubing already known players?

Agree0 Disagree0

Takeover complete; Leeds unveil their first signing. Some bloke called Stan who played a blinder against the boys from the Cross Keys last Sunday. At 43 and 16st he has a lovely touch for a big fella.

Agree0 Disagree0

What bring rubbish players to the club that mite be the case if your bradford or huddesfield but we are talking about supper leeds not someone that hasant got any history

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads don't shoot the messenger, but theres some good non league players out there that will put a lot more effort in than some of those that have graced the white shirt - my mate is a CB and i'd of had him in that team before any of the LUFC CB that played last year. Pana

Agree0 Disagree0

Short memories from people on here. Where did Beckford first get noticed, lower league football. Numerous other cases of players who do well at big clubs having been signed from lower league clubs. Fingers crossed they find a hidden gem on there travels

Agree0 Disagree0

What else would scouts do, of course hey would go round grounds to look at players, the Luke is in the name.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scouts don't sign players. The manager tells them where to look and then if they find anyone decent they recommend them.

Sorry to disappoint but everyone thinking that a multi billionaire is buying leeds are well wide of the mark the new owners have money but not the vast amounts everyone is expecting we are talking the low hundreds of millions !

Believable14 Unbelievable11

And you know this how? I dont think you do! You're just hoping you are right so you can say told u so!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well you seem to know everthing who are thay
i cant belive the things that get posted on here are you some sort of dreamer y post if you dont no anything i find it very strange

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet another clueless person who knows everything thanks going on - if you have no details or name for the buyer and cannot say who told you what is going on then keep it zipped.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im pretty sure a few hundred mill will do fine . they can only invest 6 mil this season in championship so dont think we need to have multi- billionaires even though it would be nice . if we spend 6 mil get promoted thats an extra 90 mil to go with there low hunred millions . then theres the new big money from tv that the prem clubs receive so im sure we can live with them been so poor.lol

Agree0 Disagree0

We couldn't even pull together 350k for Joel Ward, a few hundred million sounds good to me...

Agree0 Disagree0

As long he has the kind of money to put an end to us selling our star performers every season Ill be happy. We need another club legend such as The Chief.

Step up Mr Robert Snodgrass

Thank you for nothing, made up rumour by very bored individual, if you are so sure name the guy if not shut up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh no only low hundreds of millions, we'll be worse off then under bate's.

The takeover saga is finally close to being resolved at Elland Road and tomorrow looks like the day Leeds fans have been dreaming of for the last 7 years.

With Ken Bates' departure reaching its final stages and the prospect of an influx of money to the club, the mood among Leeds fans has been as positive as I can ever remember in recent history.

Leeds released an official statement on the takeover last Tuesday confirming the club had 'granted an exclusivity period to enable a potential investor to carry out the appropriate due diligence' one of the last steps before a takeover. A process Leeds anticipate will be fairly straightforward.

Adam Pope (@apopey on twitter) told BBC Look North this evening, the due diligence of the takeover may have already been completed and all that needs to be done is the final money transfer into the bank.

After weeks of Leeds fans constantly refreshing their twitter feeds and checking the clubs website, many believe tomorrow is the big day.

Niel Warnock is sure to be happy with the increased transfer kitty and is already planning on reuniting himself with one of his most trusted former players, Paddy Kenny.

Kenny has been linked with a move to Leeds all summer and a bid of £500,000 should capture him from Queens Park Rangers.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

First the big day was 1st July, then the 3rd of July and now tomorrow. Fact is the only people who know anything about the investment, in what ever form it takes, are saying nothing. I'm as excited as the next Leeds fan, but I won't believe anything til it is on the OS or SSN.

Agree0 Disagree0

More pointless speculation on a date with no real foundation , we all want it to happen but just be patient, the club and the prospective purchaser want the same thing, but they have to follow proper process, we will find out when its done but not before.

Agree0 Disagree0

Monday - No, Tuesday - No, now Wednesday - are you gonna come on here every day until it is announced and say tomorrow cos chances are you will be right one day.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's always tomorrow, and tomorrow will be the start of the season with us with no new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everyone find it necessary to do a 'Bates Bash'? Has everyone forgotten that he was the man that saved LUFC from doing a Rangers? It looks like we will get new owners and I pray that they will be as diligent as Uncle Ken was, so let us say good bye to Ken with a smile and a thank you and welcome the new one with a little trepidation.

If you mean Adam Pearson, he is a boyhood Huddersfield fan, according to all I have read about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he has sold us to a buyer with funds behind him who is in it for the right reasons, he has probably done a satisfactory job overall.

As for thanks, I am not sure. Arguably he hasmade millions out of us, the Howson and Gradel money was never spent. He probably has a controlling interest in the off shore company which owns ER and TA, so we have been paying him rent and there is a loan for the East Stand development so he has had the season ticket money as well.

I would stop short at thanks, but wish him well for the future.
