It's official UK consortium investment in Leeds United - source OS and tv

"GFH Capital, majority owners of Leeds United FC, have granted a period of exclusivity to the investors in readiness for the January transfer window.

The two parties have signed a share acquisition agreement for the purchase of shares in the club with GFH retaining a significant stake.

The consortium includes a number of high profile businessmen, and does not include any previous owners or players of the club. It is anticipated that the investment will be in place for the January transfer window and will see existing Chairman Salah Nooruddin and Managing Director David Haigh remain at the club for the long term.

Since formally completing its purchase of Leeds United in December 2012 GFH Capital has always stated it was its plan to ensure the long term and sustainable regeneration of the club through partnering with strategic and like-minded investors who share its vision.

The announcement is the culmination of many months of negotiations by a team led by David Haigh"

Three points today will be the icing on the cake!

I think going on the wording this is more than investment this I think its a Takeover
There iv said it Takeover

I think the best bit is "does not include any previous owners" Bates well out :)

Don't get too excited it must be the same monies David haigh is putting in otherwise why would he be doing so. Hope I'm wrong and it is big money

Agree0 Disagree3

Its hardly likely to be billions but based on GFH wanting to make money I would assume they wouldn't sell a majority share to someone who is not going to get the club into the Prem for them to make a return on their own investment.

I assume Haigh has put the money in to enable his involvement in the share allocation of the new owners.

The purchase sounds like its done pending sign off from the FA. GFH have the buyers they want and unlike the previous ownership things should transfer smoothly. 2 or 3 key players in and more going the other way in January. Without Harvey the transfer window should be better anyway and the new scouting system McD is implementing should allow for better quality reinforcements.
