Quite disappointed with the signing of Sacko. Last season our defence was rock solid but our offensive players (with the exception of Wood) were average to say the least. Hernandez has quality but needs proper game management, Roofe will continue to improve but for me the rest needed to go and I am afraid Sacko is one of them. His goals and assists were a poor return and he did nothing to justify signing him on a permanent deal.

If we wanted someone who could run fast down the wing but have no end product we should have kept Aidy White. By finishing 7 th we showed great character but it highlighted that we need quality to match our defence and Wood, for me this signing is not one of intent it is one that says we were happy with mediocrity.

Wonderful post from everthepessimist, the lad can only improve and his excellent mentality made him impossible to dislike for me. Almost two years ago now we signed botaka, (whom 0 out of 3 managers he had rated) bless the lad but who would you rather have at RW? I know who i'd have any day. **comment dependant on whether or not he learns how to square it**

Yeah agree with your comments, I believe we need a couple of experienced midfielders . This would help youngsters .

Would have preferred Anthony limbombe who we didn't sign, he's got pace, skill and goals.

Looks like we are aiming low yet again then looking at assistant managers. There's a reason there assistant managers. We can't afford to trial someone then replace them when we've lost too much ground in this division. We need a top class coach in who's proven. I'd like pep as a no:2 but too risky imo for top job.

MM, would you advise me to put my mortgage on Pep as well?

Personally i would take Pep above all of the other managers rumored. Foundations built by him and Monk and he should be the man to take us forward in my opinion.

From what I've heard about pep and bestie last year I'd be happy to give him ago. Every manager has started somewhere and needed a chance. Jose was assistant to robson for years!

No experience 77. He's only managed in the Norwegian league with viking fk and only lasted a year there. Good assistants don't always make good managers. Who knows if it was monk or him who was the brains! We could lose too much ground trying to find out then it's another season in the championship and another coach back to square one. Emulate Brighton and Newcastle and get a proven manager and back them instead of looking at the cheapest option.

There aren't many proven championship managers out there at the minute and i'd rather take a punt with pep than the likes of Karanka and Raneiri. Huddersfield did it with Wagner and look at them now.

Yes Lucas, if you haven't already spent it all on backing the Tinkerman! I'm only the messenger Lucas old boy. It could still be Claudio but there's been a big shift towards Pep. MM

Just read these myself Alf. Although he is still odds on with bookies, Lee Sobot has said he is not being considered, neither is Larry or Laudrup. I still hope it's Pep and Beatts. I would prefer these over Ranieri and can't see the Tinkerman coming to Leeds unless he's offered a decent sized player budget. MM

Ok so I finally get to post something where I have a bonefide source, as a result I am going to make huge swings on what the information means, probably wrongly.

Basically my friend is an architect and his company was working on a project for the owners of ER (and have been for a while) to do some improvements to ER and add several builds on the surrounding land, last week said project was pulled with no warning and completely scraped.

From what he has said they put a decent amount of money into the plans and the only thing he can think of is that they are fairly sure of a sale and don't want to spend any more of their money when the sale price is set. A good sign if nothing else.

Hmm, you could be on to something there. Radz definitely seems keen to buy back the ground and it seems a shrewd investment. I think I read somewhere we would make our money back within 9 yrs on saved rent so not bad really. I hate it when plans get scraped.

Haha you will have to cut me a bit of slack on that one alf, I wrote it bleary eyed at half two in the morning, I promise I normally know how to do word good.

Chelski have supposedly turned their attention to Fulham keeper Bettinelli to replace Begovic, if true they must have dropped their interest in Stockdale. Was anyone else tracking him, apart from Brighton wanting to keep him? or are we set for the first big announcement of the summer (fingers and toes firmly crossed) .
