I live near Nottingham and the news is Florist are in takeover talks next week, but NOT with the Kuwaitis. Personally, I think the Fawaz guy is a self-publicist. He won't be investing in Florist or LUFC. The yanks bid is the only offer on the table, and I hope it's a good 'un to get rid of the old scrote himself.

Now ime onfused the yanks are now bidding for forrest ?

Bates wanted to take a step back from leeds still be shareholder but all the investers want full ownership of leeds so 2 things will happen he will sell or get big loan out against the club and with no profit in the last 2 years run leeds in the ground

Leeds posted profit of over 3 million last year so how can you saY THERE HAs been no profit in last 2 years you really shpuld researh your inane post

I don't think captain birdseye would run are club into the ground, when he's already done this too are beloveded club.
The only way he can redeme himself, is by selling to someone who really give's a sh-t.

All bates did was sell everything and and go into administration . he then ran the club off of the money that was left over . it now looks like we have almost run out of this money and this is why we are selling our top players . we are reducing our transfer/wage budget to between 9.5 and 11.5 mil . another few seasons without the sale of the club could see us in administration again and in league 1 needing to sell players but we wouldn't have any players worth anything by then we wont have a stadium or training ground to borrow against and we may even end up going extinct as a football club .

I've no idea how true this is, but just heard from a taxi driver in Newcastle that Danny Guthrie could be on his way to Leeds. Apparently the rumour has been doing the rounds for a few months in the north east. Any news on this ED? {Ed013's Note - I know he would be a good signing and there was interest a few months ago, but it went away. Maybe a pre-agreement was sorted out and now he is free to join}

I was pleasantly surprised when the taxi driver said this to me. I hadn't heard anything about this previously. Personally I think Guthrie is a very good footballer & would be a great signing if Warnock could pull it off. Let's hope the takeover/investment goes through soon so signings like this can happen.

I don't know how true this rumour is but I did hear lots of talk about him coming months ago.

Very good player and in are league, he would make us a far better team. I feel these are the type of players we need, if we are to achieve are goals.
Theres too many quality players unattached. You could make a promotion winning team out of that lot.

Investment talks have fallen through due to disagreements in the percentage share Bates wishes to sell, he wants to remain majority shareholder whilst this American company wants to take full control. Bates is not interested in a full takeover.

Talks would break down at a very early stage if.this was a problem, not at advanced stages of negotiation.

I dont think we can expect to much until this investment is sorted. In all probability, it should be sorted for when NW returns.

Most players dont like returning to previous clubs though

The problem with Connolly isn't pace - it's the fact that he can't tackle to save his life. He puts good crosses in though.

LEEDS UNITED are keeping tabs on Matt Kilgallon, with the Sunderland defender’s future still uncertain despite his second coming on Wearside.

Neil Warnock was at the stadium of light towards the end of last season, with Kilgallon though to be the subject of the Leeds' boss scouting list.

Disregard all previous posts. This is the real deal at Leeds. I can't disclose my source, as the individual that passed me this information would lose their job should it be discovered they have been talking about this highly confidential deal. Here is what is allegedly happening:

From the off, forget two things - takeover and Chicago. Don't know where the Chicago thing has come from, but the group in discussions with the club are based in Washington DC. The group is NOT - I repeat - NOT - interested in a fully fledged takeover of the club in the first instance (I will come back to this). They are looking to take a fairly hefty minority share, and in all likelihood Bates will stay on as Chairman - though as I will explain, not as we know it.

As I understand it, the deal is structured in a way which means that the Americans will invest a certain amount of money in the club over the next three years. I'm not sure how much, but I believe this is specifically for transfer fees & wages, and they will deploy a "Director of Football" to oversee all of this expenditure and essentially run the football side of the club. One of the sticking points of the negotiations has been how much the clubs organic turnover (i.e. gate receipts etc) will also contribute. Bates is hanging on for as much as possible to go into building work. The American's also have an option to buy the club at the end of a three year period, when it is understood Bates hopes to retire.

In essence, the deal allows Ken to have a last go at his building projects, whilst simultaneously being able to put together a team targeting promotion. In return, the Americans get a hefty stake in a huge club which is going to receive enough investment to propel it to the Premier League. But the interesting thing is that the power at the club will be effectively split, with the American's funding and running the football, and Ken Bates continuing with his construction.

If you intend to make up things you should be a little cleverer, your first paragraph starts with 'Disregard all previous posts. This is the real deal at Leeds'. Then ends with 'Here is what is allegedly happening'.
The real deal and allegations are polar opposites apart. It can only be one or the other so you counteracted your own statement within 4 lines you muppet.

That sounds very logical. An outside investment can still invest about 5 mill I think which is enough for a championship side. Good rumour hope it's true as bates is a decent businessman but does need someone to kick him up the arse.

There is a major flaw in all this - the repeated reference to building works.
The casino will only happen if Elland Road is selected as the preferred location by Leeds City Council. If it happens it will be built by an end casino operator who will also build a new West Stand for the club - this will be at zero cost to the club.
Again if a hotel is built at ER it will be built and funded by a Developer (this is a standard model in the new hotel sector).

If this was true and an investment over 3 years it woulnt take this long

Actually, this sounds very plausible to me -and cannot think of any fundamental objection; think it could work well as a model -very logical as a way of Bates gradually relinquishing control, whilst seeing through his development projects. Think some of the negative posters are being picky for the sake of it, with respect. Good call.

Deal pretty much done with regards to takeover. Looks very much like the americans rather than fawaz. This is way better for us as the fawaz guy is not as rich as the americans. The deal will be announced next week and wary can then start spending. Champions!!

As harvey is fling back to the uk to contiue talks the deal is far from done when the deal is done and price agreed it will still take 2 weeks for due dilligence and and for new owners to pass the stringency test from the f a

Fawaz is in top ten rich list in the world, no one really knows who the americans are yet, clutching at straws there.

Fawaz is in no position to buy a 2nd tier club he announced that on kuwait tv 2 days ago he really not as rich as he is made out do ya research on him not just the rumours
