I live near Nottingham and the news is Florist are in takeover talks next week, but NOT with the Kuwaitis. Personally, I think the Fawaz guy is a self-publicist. He won't be investing in Florist or LUFC. The yanks bid is the only offer on the table, and I hope it's a good 'un to get rid of the old scrote himself.

Believable25 Unbelievable6

Now ime onfused the yanks are now bidding for forrest ?

Agree0 Disagree0

So it's interflora that are the mystery bidders then ! They are the biggest florists I know

Agree0 Disagree0

Fawaz strikes me as being like Tony Fernandes at QPR. Don't want people like that near Leeds. That's just Ridsdale all over again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get David Healy back !!! Free even though Crawley and fleetwood want him doubt we can compete with them lol MOT

ok there is a rumour the deal is done the prie agreed the paperwork is signed all thats holing things up is due dilligene and f a cheks it should take 2 to 3 weeks but to help warnok out there will be a 1o million advance to the club kickstart warnoks rebuilding program

Believable20 Unbelievable16

Who's gonna give warnock a 10 mil advance before things have gone through . only an idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets nip this in the bud now, Owners are limited to an investment of £6m this coming season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wont be signed if they are doing due dilligence!! they will have signed a non disclosure agreement which means nothing is agreed but they must have proof of funds, lets hope so o.w

Bates wanted to take a step back from leeds still be shareholder but all the investers want full ownership of leeds so 2 things will happen he will sell or get big loan out against the club and with no profit in the last 2 years run leeds in the ground

Believable6 Unbelievable29

Leeds posted profit of over 3 million last year so how can you saY THERE HAs been no profit in last 2 years you really shpuld researh your inane post

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think captain birdseye would run are club into the ground, when he's already done this too are beloveded club.
The only way he can redeme himself, is by selling to someone who really give's a sh-t.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Where do you get your info from or do you just make it up?! Why on earth would he run the club into the ground, idiots like you have no idea at all and just sprout utter rubbish you clown !

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second poster how has he run the club into the ground when it is showing a profit?? first poster are you just unintelligent?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates has run leeds in a sensible financial manner for the long term health of the club. I doubt he would change that approach

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes great idea let's waste 7 years of my life rebuilding Leeds united to ruin it your an idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

All bates did was sell everything and and go into administration . he then ran the club off of the money that was left over . it now looks like we have almost run out of this money and this is why we are selling our top players . we are reducing our transfer/wage budget to between 9.5 and 11.5 mil . another few seasons without the sale of the club could see us in administration again and in league 1 needing to sell players but we wouldn't have any players worth anything by then we wont have a stadium or training ground to borrow against and we may even end up going extinct as a football club .

Agree0 Disagree0

"he then ran the club off of the money that was left over" - Leeds' profit since then disproves that as well as "he's already done this too are beloveded club" (which I assume means 'he's already done this to our beloved club').

Danny Guthrie deal is almost done and Warnock is interested in the following players (Yet to enquire):
Lee Peltier - Leicester City
Matthew Kilgallon - Sunderland
Clint Hill, Matt Connolly & Fitz Hall - QPR
Paddy Kenny - Also QPR
Somen Tchoyi - Free Agent (Released by WBA)

Believable24 Unbelievable31

I said danny guthrie a couple of days ago whats your source also paddy kenny looks a done deal also clint hill looks a good bet

Agree0 Disagree0

Saw today that Clint Hill has been released by QPR. Good news for us

Agree0 Disagree0

If you haven't noticed we're in the middle of atakeover and we're still getting players in. I don't think so till it's over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest, this is a wish list and educated guess based on what we need rather than on inside information. In that respect you have chosen some good and obtainable players that would strengthen us. So, it's a good list of players but there ain't much truth to your rumour. However I hope I'm wrong and your telling the truth.
On a side note people have stopped mentioning Diouff but I personally think he's a done deal (not a rumour, just opinion) - would prefer if he didn't come personally.
jt-lufc

Agree0 Disagree0

Were do you get this from warnock is away on hols is he not ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Guthrie said on twitter he is looking for a new home in the midlands...WBA likely destination.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the person who posted the rumour and according to my source (Who I can't reveal for obvious reasons), Warnock left a list of players he wants for the new owners/investors to see. Just a rumour.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Guthrie moving here. When he played for newcastle this season he was excellent . Will stay in pl

Believable16 Unbelievable21

This topic has been goin on for time. So if you don't know now, you never will mate.#

No he is not. He will be on the 1st July when his contract expires.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believable9 Unbelievable40

It´s currently run by the duke of hazard, so could be an improvement,

The Duke was interested, until someone else wanted the president and we can blame Snake Bliskin for this outcome.

I've no idea how true this is, but just heard from a taxi driver in Newcastle that Danny Guthrie could be on his way to Leeds. Apparently the rumour has been doing the rounds for a few months in the north east. Any news on this ED? {Ed013's Note - I know he would be a good signing and there was interest a few months ago, but it went away. Maybe a pre-agreement was sorted out and now he is free to join}

Believable24 Unbelievable9

I was pleasantly surprised when the taxi driver said this to me. I hadn't heard anything about this previously. Personally I think Guthrie is a very good footballer & would be a great signing if Warnock could pull it off. Let's hope the takeover/investment goes through soon so signings like this can happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know how true this rumour is but I did hear lots of talk about him coming months ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good player and in are league, he would make us a far better team. I feel these are the type of players we need, if we are to achieve are goals.
Theres too many quality players unattached. You could make a promotion winning team out of that lot.

A decent signing! Danny Guthrie is very much a done deal, saw him being shown round thorp arch yesterday afternoon. Expect the deal to be done early next week after the bank holidays, most likely Wednesday.

Investment talks have fallen through due to disagreements in the percentage share Bates wishes to sell, he wants to remain majority shareholder whilst this American company wants to take full control. Bates is not interested in a full takeover.

Source: Lawyer of the American Company

Believable13 Unbelievable38

Reveal the American Company then if talks have collapsed.

Agree0 Disagree0

The talks would of never started if that's the case as bates would of said from the off that he didn't want a full takeover you are talking out of your arse

Agree0 Disagree0

God knows why people post crap like this,no source at all

Agree0 Disagree0

You think this is the way business is done?? Oh my God

Agree0 Disagree0

Delia, concentrate on finding a manager for the yellow bellies instead of making up crap about the greatest club in the north

Agree0 Disagree0

Pmsfl what some folk will do say and make up apprently talks are going on with harvey because ken bates is urrently missing afyer going suba diving with his sicillian suba diving instruter who is the godson of jon defrenzi

Agree0 Disagree0

Talks would break down at a very early stage if.this was a problem, not at advanced stages of negotiation.

Agree0 Disagree0

If all that Bates is interested in is money(which he is), then surely he would welcome a full takeover, so that he could sell as many of his shares as possible?

Pelts will return to hudds as they can afford him,, nobody wants barn door bekford apart from Leeds lmao

Believable13 Unbelievable26

Ide have beckford no problems we have the secret weopn to make becks fire on all cylinders ansd seing as he is on the leicster retained list so do they

Agree0 Disagree0

Barn door beckford?? Think you don't understand the meaning of barn door otherwise you wouldn't put beckford in the same sentence has barn door

Message to trollers from our newly promoted inbred neighbours. Fluke off to your own poorly populated rumour site and post your drivvel there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes puppy go running along now MOT forever wherever together with the mighty whites

Agree0 Disagree0

Re above, agreed! And if 'Pelts' is even contemplating returning to a small town club then good luck to him 'cos we're only interested in top quality players (not Leicester's or any other Championship club's cast-offs) to take us forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha oh dear oh dear ...suppose we better get used to the Tin Pots Trolling for a bite now in same division again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barn door beckford > barn door billy. If we're the only ones after him then foooking get him! As for peltier he is a good rb going forward but not the greatest defensive rb

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not been easy for Beckford since he left Leeds. Scoring goals can't be easy when every time you look down and see the badge on your shirt you feel physically sick! mk

Agree0 Disagree0

Barn door beckford u on smack am sure he hit 6 goals in 2 games u dont have a clue and sorry but i dont rate pelts think the lot better right backs about shame we let frazer rich go great player

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2012 10:25:04
On the yep it says its us vs huddersfied for lee peltier 500 k. This Could get embarrassing RT

Believable25 Unbelievable4

Seing as warnock is on holls and harvey busy with the investers the story started in the leicster mercury news inventing a bidding war

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think we can expect to much until this investment is sorted. In all probability, it should be sorted for when NW returns.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most players dont like returning to previous clubs though

Agree0 Disagree0

In my eyes this is why we didn't sign ward. Same fee, same position, peltsy the errrr player. Hope he signs and brings us the pace Connolly never had

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem with Connolly isn't pace - it's the fact that he can't tackle to save his life. He puts good crosses in though.

Leeds are interested in Matt Kilgallon, a defender who plays for Sunderland. He is out of contract soon and might not get it renewed, and if not expect Leeds to be in the running for him. Back in his QPR days, Warnock had Kilgallon on his scouting list, and was also the one responsible for bringing Kilgallon to Sheffield from the one and only Leeds, his boyhood club. So hopefully he would take us over other clubs, and not only that he is apparantly a good defender, although not being played much at the moment but would be an exceptional Championship player.

Source: Sunderland Echo

Leeds Demon

Believable29 Unbelievable4

Get back to your home work mate, we all know who kilgallon is, he was ment to be the next Woodgate....ment to be not now not ever, another ex Leeds player too injury prone to return

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasnt an exceptional championship player last time he played for us, quite average to be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

I've done all the homework I need, he played a vital part in our 2005/6 season and was in the england under-21's. Considering he was around 21-22 and not as experienced as he is now, yes i think he could do well for us. He also played well for sheffield, I think he got player of the season award? Come on he would do well, if only to get us up, not for long-term.

Leeds Demon

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw him at Donny Rovers last season on loan, very very average. Fair enough, his confidence was shot because Sunderland wouldn't play him, but he was suppossed to come and prove his worth. He didn't i'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

It's difficult for a defender to stand out in a team like Donny though, because even if he's good, he gets put under so much pressure due to the ineptness of the rest of the team, that he's bound to look bad anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2012 10:06:39
LEEDS UNITED are keeping tabs on Matt Kilgallon, with the Sunderland defender’s future still uncertain despite his second coming on Wearside.

Neil Warnock was at the stadium of light towards the end of last season, with Kilgallon though to be the subject of the Leeds' boss scouting list.

smithy released from newcaste along with guthrie could both do a job for us

Believable21 Unbelievable20

Dont want either smith has lost it and if guthrie still had it he would have been offeres a new contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith could'nt do a job for mk dons let alone leeds.see him taking up a coaching role somewhere. {Ed013's Note - MK Dons are in talks with him}

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed they could, those mens toilets have not had proper clean for ages.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Smithy! Come back! We've missed you so much..........life's not the same without Gavin & Sta.....................Oh, Alan Smith not James Corden?
No thanks then

Agree0 Disagree0

Please just stop it about Alan Smith.
Enough already

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Guthrie might be a good signing, if his wage demands aren't high.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually we could do with smith, becchio was only saying the other day they needed some loser to peel the half time oranges

Agree0 Disagree0

Smithy not good enough now
he'll stay at mk dons or go back to newcastle to coach

Disregard all previous posts. This is the real deal at Leeds. I can't disclose my source, as the individual that passed me this information would lose their job should it be discovered they have been talking about this highly confidential deal. Here is what is allegedly happening:

From the off, forget two things - takeover and Chicago. Don't know where the Chicago thing has come from, but the group in discussions with the club are based in Washington DC. The group is NOT - I repeat - NOT - interested in a fully fledged takeover of the club in the first instance (I will come back to this). They are looking to take a fairly hefty minority share, and in all likelihood Bates will stay on as Chairman - though as I will explain, not as we know it.

As I understand it, the deal is structured in a way which means that the Americans will invest a certain amount of money in the club over the next three years. I'm not sure how much, but I believe this is specifically for transfer fees & wages, and they will deploy a "Director of Football" to oversee all of this expenditure and essentially run the football side of the club. One of the sticking points of the negotiations has been how much the clubs organic turnover (i.e. gate receipts etc) will also contribute. Bates is hanging on for as much as possible to go into building work. The American's also have an option to buy the club at the end of a three year period, when it is understood Bates hopes to retire.

In essence, the deal allows Ken to have a last go at his building projects, whilst simultaneously being able to put together a team targeting promotion. In return, the Americans get a hefty stake in a huge club which is going to receive enough investment to propel it to the Premier League. But the interesting thing is that the power at the club will be effectively split, with the American's funding and running the football, and Ken Bates continuing with his construction.

Believable29 Unbelievable27

Mmmmmmmm yes ok have you heard of the new finances we can onbly spend a certain amoung of money each season

Agree0 Disagree0

Also an investment wouldnt last this long either

Agree0 Disagree0

And sorry if its a minority share holding bates will still have overall controll of the club and why would anyon invest over 3 years when bates could turn round and say thanks for the investmant lads ive decided not to sell up you insider needs new insider information

Agree0 Disagree0

If you intend to make up things you should be a little cleverer, your first paragraph starts with 'Disregard all previous posts. This is the real deal at Leeds'. Then ends with 'Here is what is allegedly happening'.
The real deal and allegations are polar opposites apart. It can only be one or the other so you counteracted your own statement within 4 lines you muppet.

Agree0 Disagree0

That sounds very logical. An outside investment can still invest about 5 mill I think which is enough for a championship side. Good rumour hope it's true as bates is a decent businessman but does need someone to kick him up the arse.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a major flaw in all this - the repeated reference to building works.
The casino will only happen if Elland Road is selected as the preferred location by Leeds City Council. If it happens it will be built by an end casino operator who will also build a new West Stand for the club - this will be at zero cost to the club.
Again if a hotel is built at ER it will be built and funded by a Developer (this is a standard model in the new hotel sector).

Agree0 Disagree0

If this was true and an investment over 3 years it woulnt take this long

Agree0 Disagree0

As long as it brings some good times bk to ER I'll be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clever with words you may be, bet you hold onto your farts, coz it's all s@@@te your spouting

Agree0 Disagree0

....and, why would a taxi driver lose his job?

Agree0 Disagree0

OP i cant reveal my source cos he may lose his job but he tells me you are talking b****cks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here. Quite surprised at the vitriol from my fellow Leeds fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster if you dont like the flack stop posting rubbish. You could reveal your source.......oh thats right you aint got one have you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, this sounds very plausible to me -and cannot think of any fundamental objection; think it could work well as a model -very logical as a way of Bates gradually relinquishing control, whilst seeing through his development projects. Think some of the negative posters are being picky for the sake of it, with respect. Good call.

Deal pretty much done with regards to takeover. Looks very much like the americans rather than fawaz. This is way better for us as the fawaz guy is not as rich as the americans. The deal will be announced next week and wary can then start spending. Champions!!

Believable12 Unbelievable21

As harvey is fling back to the uk to contiue talks the deal is far from done when the deal is done and price agreed it will still take 2 weeks for due dilligence and and for new owners to pass the stringency test from the f a

Fawaz is in top ten rich list in the world, no one really knows who the americans are yet, clutching at straws there.

Kenneth C Griffin, is thought to be the man behind the chicago based outfit rumoured to be interested in leeds.

He is the founder and CEO of citadel 1 of the worlds largest hedge fund investment firms, and has a personal wealth thought to be in the region of $2.3-$2.5 billion.

At the end of 2011 he was the 512th richest person in the world!
