Here is my tip for this season, Dom poleon, I really think the lad is going to hit the ground running, great last u18 season and scored a belter in pre season, I reckon he will shine and become a first team starter and become a huge prospect and attract unwanted ettention from the premiership (probably Norwich)
Also think neil be really considering on bid to buy templeton, he would fill snoddys boots with ease, both play very alike technically, but templeton has more pace, this is a sort of player we need on the wing imo

His goal against Tavistock was a beauty, but i still think its a little too soon for the lad, maybe a short loan to a div 1 side to see what he can do first.. . MOT

The lad is making the right noises for sure.

Give the lad a chance why loan him out if he's 18 get him in he has earnt a place in squad so give him his chance like anyone else

Would rather him stay and make an impact from the bench than go on loan. he definitely has a future though.
Agree0
Disagree0
Saw him play v Alfreton on 21 July and was impressed. Scored one and was fouled for the pen. Confident to take people on in the box, but at times needs to develop awareness of team mates who are in better positions and release the ball to them. This will come with time.
Agree0
Disagree0
Get him on as long a contract as possible now, dont want him to go same way as rose, garbutt, lennon, taiwo etc...
Agree0
Disagree0
Agreed ... the lad has more than a touch of class and I would like to see at least one young player included on the bench. Sam Byrom also looks to be another one for the future. Also agree with the shout for David Templeton young, has oodles of pace, talented and is more than willing to take people on ... time to spend some of the fee received for Snoddy.

I haven't seen him but if hes that good give hime a 5 year deal then I'd send him on a half season loan to league 2 or maybe 1 get him back in january and if hes done well keep him as a back up
Agree0
Disagree0
As above, iv never seen him play, but read that he played well for the u18s and in the friendlies. Get him on a long term contract and either loan him out or give him a chance in the first team. Its what we used to do (woody, milner, lennon, robbo etc)

Iv just seen this on another site no not wiki either don't shoot messenger!! This looks reasonable what do you say ED? Any1 elses thoughts?
The Leeds United takeover is currently deadlocked due to the owner of the training ground digging their heels in regarding "valuation".
The new owners have bought the majority of the slices of Leeds United and are waiting until the sale of the training ground has gone through before any announcement is made.
The consortium have a wealth which exceeds Many premiership clubs.
The consortium are keen to redevelop Elland Road, and have control of forthcoming Casino / minor sports developments on Leeds United land.
The consortium is made up of the following:
2 x Bahraini businessmen ( 1 Royal )
1- 1 x Qatari businessman
2 Saudis.
They are all connected to a large middle eastern investment firm.
An announcement will be made next week regarding the takeover , with an English businessman in place as the front man / CEO. This front man has previous familial links with Leeds United and has worked / lived in the middle east for sometime.
Just to confirm - Bates is 100% out of the game now.
And to re-iterate the deal is stalled on Land ownership issues.
Any thoughts

Would be a good take over. But ive just seen a pig fly over elland road chased by a wooden spoon thats escaped from the trophy cabinet.
Agree0

Does any one for sure know whether there is a takeover I got so excited at first but there has been so much talk now of who and when and the latter has always not come true.
Agree0
Disagree0
Most premiership clubs have knack all - they are all knee deep in debt. Having more wealth than them isn't that difficult.
Agree0
Disagree0
Hmmm Sounds very credible 'owner digging in his heels' LOL
That just tells me of course Bates owns ER and TA !!
Agree0
Disagree0
Surely they would just continue to lease TA and concentrate on developing land that they can develop i.e. Elland Rd? Ownership of the training ground is not a big thing, particularly as the planning restricts it to sports use only! JH
Agree0
Disagree0
Bates may own Elland Rd but he does not own TA, which is owned by a Salford based Company called Barnaway Ltd with the sole director being Jacob Adler.
Agree0
Disagree0
All this takeover talk...all it is so far is wild speculation...until then Leeds are living off past glories and cannot compete with the bigger championship clubs.
The fact is that Leeds is now a selling club or to put it bluntly a feeder club for us canaries! They have to sell their best players and recruit journeymen instead!
Please Leeds fans, wake up and smell the coffee and stop pinning your hopes on some fanciful takeover that may well be pie in the sky!
Agree0
Disagree0
Can't see it mate as the price for ground and thorpe arch had already been agreed even though the buy back ran out when Bates was supposed to buy it back with the funds from Delph but hey paying yourself rent sounds better! M.O.T Bates out!

I see on the dodgy rumours page that someone posted a few days before snoddy was sold that he was going to norwich for 3 mill. This person also named 6 players we were going to get, one if which is so far true! Will be interesting to see if the others are true.

What players are thy then?
Agree0

These are the names dropped in the dodgy rumour (no, it wasn't me):
Varney is in.
Austin awaits his work permit.
Peltier officially is one of few targets for the right back.
Tom Heaton will not be, as he has gone to Bristol City and we have Kenny and Ashdown.
Templeton, McGugan and Kilgallon remain in the rumours bin.

Leeds want to sign Norwich Striker Grant Holt aswell as Snodgrass already completing his move to norwich but Leeds do want Grant holt in a bit of a return for Snodgrass.

Holt signed a 3 year contract extension less than a month ago. Never going to happen.
StevenLufc {Ed020's Note - dom matteo signed a 4 year contract and then signed for us a month later....stranger things have happened}
Agree0

Highly doubtful, he was wanting to go to a bigger club in the premiership before he signed his deal so why would he take the step down and sign for a championship club
Agree0
Disagree0
Rubbish, if we wanted him we would have arranged it in the deal with Snoddie surely?

The rumours in the Midlands are that we are sniffing around Villa for Eric Lichaj and Simon Cox, whether on permanent deals.
Its just reporter gossip at the mo, tho.

Maybe cos NW dosen't want him.

Probably because Neil Warnock doesn't want him! Leave the signings to him.....that's why he's the manager!

Arsenal have made a bid for cazorla, why haven't you? Ffs, what a ridiculous stance on transfers. You really think warnock should be signing every decent player? There are so many other factors, what if cox isn't what warnock wants? Wake up.
Agree0
Disagree0
Maybe because Warnock doesn't want him. We don't have to bid for a player because another team has.
Agree0
Disagree0
Huddersfield bid for peltier does that mean we can't? Cox is quality and with the likes of Andy Gray it's time we signed a decent forward
Agree0
Disagree0
This is the type of quality player we should be signing but he is out of our price bracket. I would think NW would love him
Agree0
Disagree0
Blackburn probably have more monet than us at the moment. JD
Agree0

To all of you who say it is Warnock's choice, I don't believe it is. He would be reinvesting the Snodgrass money. Do you expect me to believe that Warnocks dream is to sign 5 players all of whom were relegated from the Championship last year. Why dont you wake up and get real

Glad you asked this its hard to work out who the team will be and who else we will get without knowing formation.
Agree0
Disagree0
His usual formation is 4-2-3-1 with a big man upfront and soild at back and i believe hes played that but also played 2 upfront with poleon been given a chance
Agree0
Disagree0
It looks as though he will play 4-2-3-1, however with him saying that he likes Becchio as a player and the fact he says he will be signing an excellent pacey striker. You would think he'd play two up top. So maybe 4-1-2-1-2 or 4-2-2-2
Agree0

Ive worked it out as 4-1-2-1-2
