I was pxxxed off on Saturday with the size of the crowd and said so on here. After many years as a ST holder last night took the biscuit. You lot calling yourself supporters but use the excuse of Bates for not turning up should take a good look at yourself and be ashamed. All those who can't afford it there's nothing you can do but the ones that can if you want to call yourself true supporters then show the lads on the pitch you're behind them. For the ones that
Did turn up you were amazing and did Gary proud.

Believable51 Unbelievable23

Well i couldnt afford it as i have to buy xmas gifts.. so yeah im not a real supporter??

Agree1 Disagree1

If people can't come to game because of the cost, I Like all decent fans can understand that but the fans who have been coming on here since the site started slating Bates and saying that they will not attend until he has sold the club, they are the ones that we are getting at why oh why make out you are fans of a club I have followed for 48 years when in reallity you jumped on the bandwagon of being able to have ago at a club on it's knees. people like you make me sick

Agree2 Disagree0

"when in reallity you jumped on the bandwagon of being able to have ago at a club on it's knees. people like you make me sick"

Maybe some of us realise who bought this club to it's knees and just refuse to put more money into HIS pocket, rather than into OUR club where it should be going?

Once he no longer holds the reins, I'll be back believe me.

Agree0 Disagree2

Pxxxxd off with fans like you spouting off on here about fans who stay away. People are losing their jobs All over the country but still have mortgages and families to pay for. Get a grip. They would be there if they could but can't afford it so support from a distance. I'm my opinion a fan is a family no matter where they are. Some buy merchandise which still puts money back into the club. MOT.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hang on a min before slating him he does say everyone who cant afford it nothing can be done. to be honest iv had kids and havent been since we beat scunny at home 4-0 a couple of years ago but i avidly listen to every game on the radio and stay up till gone midnight to watch about 20 secs of highlights every saturday! I AM A TRUE SUPPORTER and this is a fair post and if i had the money, time and less responsibility id be there always! only gripe i have is what about all the people who play local saturday afternoon football are they not real fans?? LtKK

Agree1 Disagree0

And I'm sick of people like you telling me I'm not a fan, because I'm on short time, have 3 kids and can not afford to pay the ridiculous prices...

Agree1 Disagree0

17,986 ? or something close for the game. Its a shame really but its not about testing real fans for commitment when ticket prices, shop prices and fuel are so high. In general the clubs, the players, the game and the Gov all need to respond otherwise next week we will see games with 16,000. Germany have maxed out stadia and realistic ticketing prices. Do I really want to go watch some prima on £250k a week and become in debt for doing so ? I want a good game and stadium which contributes to me and my families attendance for a lifetime of loyalty. I want and demand a team which plays wearing their heart on their shirt and play with passion. I'll watch regardless of result week in week out but dont take advantage. BATES has done that for too long and now I want payback.... team need to prove their worthy as well as new owners. 'Show me you care and I'll be there'

Agree0 Disagree0

People who say they don't turn upbecause of bates are pathetic, if you support leeds turn up an support the team just remember we don't start the match with eleven ken bates's on the field.

Agree0 Disagree1

Another one of those "I go to more games so I'm a bigger fan" people eh?

Get a grip lad, people were disheartened. The fans will start coming back and attendances will get better. Perhaps its people like yourself who are stopping fans from coming?

"I'm a bigger fan" blah, blah, blah.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simple our ticket prices are too high conpared to most clubs including prem..... nuf sed

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet theres more than 18000 for chelsea game, whatever the price of a ticket is !why not have a go at them for turning up!

Agree0 Disagree0

I paid £600 per season to watch us get beat by Brentford, Wyckham, Forrest, blackpool; the list goes on. Ive also seen a promising team sold to the minnows of Norwich, and been called a person by the chairman. This season is enough, I've lost interest, and I couldnt care less what muppets like you say. Ok, GFH have bought the club, but they've a lot of making up to do to a lot of people to prove thier serious, including getting rid of bates for good. Lower prices, better players and some ambition and Ill come back, but Im not just going to waste my money until the club shows it cares about keeping our support.

Agree1 Disagree0

If you want to pay over inflated prices for less than average quality then i have a1992 ford escort, only £10,000 to you.

Agree1 Disagree0

So you pxxxxd off about the attendance? Grow up lad and get real. The fans have voted with their feet and thats it. I was at Elland road in the 80s when our average went down to 13000 because of what was on offer , mainly crap football. Today we have VERY expensive crap football and a fanbase that as been abused and insulted by the present owner. Think about it..lots of factors are involved including the fact most people I know buy their tickets weeks in advance so expecting the missing thousands to return overnight is just not going to happen. The crowds will return as things improve on and of the pitch, its not for you to judge your fellow fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone think that the behaiour of a sizeable group of "fans" in Sheffield might also be keeping some families away. Agree prices are outrageous too. Just saying...

Agree0 Disagree0

"Grow up lad and get real. The fans have voted with their feet and thats it. I was at Elland road in the 80s when our average went down to 13000 because of what was on offer , mainly crap football. Totally 100% AGREE.

When Bates no longer runs this club I will be back, but not untill, and the sooner you people realise that the likes o us have forced Bates to sell the better?

Do you SERIOUSLY think Bates would be selling this golden goose if he still had 27000+ 'morons' paying in their hard earned cash?

I just wish Bates was gone before Xmas....

From good authority. Byram on his way to spurs in january. Naughton and Townsend and or cash in swap deal! Stephen Ireland deal is a non runner but i hear Hoolahan from norwich could be on the cards as he is in dispute with them. Heres to happier times ahead. MOT

28 Nov 2012 20:46:43
Hoolahon is playing for Norwich tonight against Southampton!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's good authority, yours, byram just signed 4 year deal, he's not going anywhere.Ireland was just made up , and you just plucked two more names out of the air ,as for MOT, lol, your not leeds

Agree1 Disagree0

Didn't Byram sign a new contract recently?

Agree1 Disagree0

No way Byram would be sold - we are not a selling club now - and hes a future captain - go eat your shorts - warnock would not allow this nor would new directors

Agree1 Disagree0

Townsend did'nt want to stay with us when on loan, left and went to birmingham,,,,

Agree1 Disagree0

Townsend had the good fortune to wear the shirt & then rejected it, don't ever let him near it again.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Nov 2012 22:35:57
Who wants Townsend anyway we don't need him he's unloyal

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm sure messi & pele will sign 2. Get real Leeds you are not going up for the next few years

Agree0 Disagree2

No way can you be a leeds supporter if i were manager i wouldnt sell him for 10mil even more! and i mean that he is a future super star in the making we know it neil knows it and as previous post says were not a selling club so you can get that out of your head!

There's only one plac he'll go and I'm afraid he might - utd

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram's on a 4 year deal
don't need naughton
townsend didn't like it here so no time for him
hollahan is regular at norwich in the PL so why would they sell him n why would he come?

Stop it with ya lies get some proper rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

These spurs are the spurs that will lose their best players when AVB leads them to mid table mediocracy and then gets the relegated with a huge debt....don't worry uncle ken will save you!!!! Ahaha

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's the person saying messi and pele, all i saw were very realistic suggestions, not that i would go for any of them.and obviously we aren't going up for a few years because gobby said, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like pele, socrates did it for garforth ahaha

Agree0 Disagree0

Sam byram will stay at leeds-and why would we be interested in townsend-dont rate him and remember when he walked out on us to join birmingham -we dont need players like him-we dont need to sell our best players now --we have cash -our selling days are over and only if someone offer us silly money will it happen or if player wanted to leave-but he is happy and enjoying his football-howson left --grass is not always greener on other side -

Its interesting (and disappointing) to see that after 2 cracking wins against top clubs in the league, that fans are still coming on here just to have a dig at people who aren't able to attend games for whatever reason! Do some people never see positives?

its a fair observation that 17,700 is a low attendance for a big game but differing reasons make it obvious to see why this was the attendance! High ticket costs, Christmas coming up, evening fixture etc, etc. I've said it a million times but its water of a ducks back to me if people slate me as a 'stay away' fan! I've got a 1 year old daughter and unfortunately live not so close to ER (notts), so can't attend as much - so does that make me less of a fan?!

I assume the people moaning about the stayaways either have a gd wedge in the bank or still live at home and have the freedom to go every match!

spot on mate i have a 4 year old and 10 month old and the £50 a week it was cost me to buy my ticket, fuel, parking and something to eat makes a big difference. I simply dont have £50 a week spare if i did i would be there every week. I would rather be at the game rather than listen to it on the radio but i arnt going to make my family go without to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me fourth even though i live in Morley i still have a sick wife and 2 kids YET still go to work !

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree I go through the agonies of supporting Leeds from a distance. Every minute of a match every goal for or against effect my mood. I get there a couple of times a year and it is so much easier to cope live and I love the atmosphere but we all can,t get there every week. Leeds for ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scot, I'm from Notts too, Mansfield to be exact, get in touch thru site you could always come up with us anytime you want, couple of us go up as often as we can, about 10/12 times depending on money & work.

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldn't agree more even if I tried mate! I've been a LUFC fan for 18 1/2 years now but live in Leicester, on my own, and don't drive! As much as I'd like to have a couple of hundred pound spare every month to go to ER and cheer on my heroes, it just isn't possible.
So instead I watch the Soccer Specials every Sat and Tues and scream at the tv as if I was at the ground! You can't measure the level of people's support by abusing them for not attending, we should all be sticking together and supporting what we all have in common - Leeds United FC! If we're going to quarrel amongst ourselves all the time then we have problems! - JamesC

Agree0 Disagree0

Well im glad its not just me that thinks this lol!

As for the response from the chap living in Mansfield - greatly appreciated mate, thank you for that. When I go to watch Leeds, its usually away as there's more local games in the midlands than I first thought, I go with Nottingham whites supporters club and same applies for home games. Although this does cut the costs down, including ticket, travel, food, drink and a cheeky accumulator your looking at the best part of £70/£80 which for me has to be a luxury more than a necessity.

Thanks for the offer again pal.

Scot MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree. However, there is a large number of Leeds followers who live locally and can afford to go but would rather stay away and moan about things and bleat on about why they are going to carry on with their boycott etc. These are the ones who next season if we are back in the Premier League will suddenly reappear at the ground talking as if they have never been away. We do have very many loyal fans and should be proud of our attendance records in the lower leagues, but likewise we have as many glory grabbing success jumpers who are there when the sun shines but not when the team really needs them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can fuly understand anyone with a young family not being able to afford to go - its very expensive, petrol/diesal is expensive, parking is expensive - but Bates does not live in our world so he does not really care.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anybody ever consider the fact that we are poor in midweek games no offence but majority of fans dont want to go to a midweek game to watch us loose all the time, its simple facs: drop the ticket prices and get teh team playing better then attendances will b higher

Agree0 Disagree0

In the current climate, fuel costs, utility prices and all the other things that now cost a lot more than they did, it is hardly surprisng that those living at a good distance can't attend as many matches as they may have been able to a few years ago. Does it make you less of a fan?Absoloutely not, no way.

I was born in Jimmy's and supported Leeds since the day I found out I loved football. I moved from Leeds in 1985 and have lived all over the country and in Germany. I am now in Oxfordshire and quite frankly I cant find the £200 or so a month it would cost to attend 2 home matches. That said I try and get to a few each year, and did so from Germany too.

The mere fact that the first thing you think of on match day is whether we are gonna win, hoping that we win, delighted when we do win, a complete miserable Tw*t when we lose, means your a fan, in my eyes. I spend my saturdays listening on Yorkshire radio when I cant get up for a game with other Leeds fans from around the country and the world. None of us think we are lesser fans or accuse others of being Lesser fans. We are just jealous that we cant get there every home game.

And it's about time a few on here gave it a rest and talked about the football

Here's to a victory on Saturday or my wife is gonne think I am a miserable D*ck again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ! Love that post mate, maybe we were separated at birth !

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually do have the cash to watch Leeds if I wanted to, even if it costs me around £100 to travel and get in, but no way am I putting that up while Bates continually refuses to invest it into the team.

I can sympathise with others who are nearer and still won't put their hard earned cash into watching a game while bates leeches it into his pocket.

Stop moaning at us Bates moaners and realise we are forcing Bates into selling up?

When he is gone, the numbers will increase and even those who are hard pusched will, I am sure, make the effort to get to a few games??

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess if a fan who lives in a 20 miles radius of ER goes to every home match or at least 80% of them then yes they are a more devout fan than me. I'm happy to accept that. But I'm not happy to accept that as a way of belittling people who can't afford it, disagree with Bates, live too far away ETC ETC. Either way it's missing the point. We are all fans and any support is better than non. Marching On TOGETHER #MOT #LUFCFamily

With regards to an earlier post on here about attendance, i first saw leeds in 1985, the attendance was around 8000, on a saturday,we were in the corresponding division, but in those days it was called Div 2. People ought to remember that 17,000 is pretty good compared to those dark times.

Believable20 Unbelievable2

Yes me too. I remember the dark old days playing such as Oldham. Playing the ball up to the half way line, and then back to the keeper. draw written all over it. Ahh and yes the low attendances. Where was the moaners then. Now all them years on, married then divorced with kids and then married yet again. Miss the footballing years but I love my family too. Merry Christmas to all. LUFC forever.

8,000 mate no way crowds were never that low in the 80's 90's

Agree0 Disagree0

8000 might be pushing it but there were a lot of games at around the 12 to 14 000 mark in the 80s. And there were fewer games per season then. And comparatively cheaper entrance fees.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok,my memories of 8000 a bit on the low side but as the guy above posted, there were fewer games back then and three quid on the gate, lowest i can see on the stats was 9000 -15000, so, its still a much better crowd nowadays.Plus they had the smallest of club shops and less commercialism off field than there is now. Leeds have always had peaks and troughs and i feel a peak starting to come again soon, MOT. Phil.

Whats peoples ideas on the Huddersfield game? Its their cup final so i expect a tough game at their ground, Clayton will be out to prove a point. I hope that Beckford doesnt get booed, for all his faults he got us up with his goals and the fantastic win at s**m.

Believable27 Unbelievable3

Hardly our cup final a mid table team? playing against the likes of blackburn wolves bolton maybe. the only rivalry between us is tht ur fans ar a bunch of persons and everyone hates u lot for it, not for footballin reasons. altho should b a good game but easy 3 points to the town. UTT

Agree0 Disagree1

Beckford is injured or unavailale as far as I've heard

Agree0 Disagree0

Udders fans make me LOL they crawled out of league 1 last season and start spouting they are the best team in yorkshire...

Agree1 Disagree0

We'll bud. We'll see. But how can you deny the rivalry because it's clearly there otherwise you wouldn't have painted King Billy blue!

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt deny ther was rivalry, u leeds fans go on about its hudds cup final and i really do not get tht at all?

Agree0 Disagree0

To the huddy fan calling us a mid table team win for us sat will put us above you pal enjoy the championship next season while we're playing prem football

Agree1 Disagree0

Simply because its the one game you lot are desperate to win, and if you did you would be bragging for weeks, because we are LEEDS, whereas if we win , it would be like any other win , and to insult our fans shows just how ignorant you are, i've been supporting Leeds for 46 years and never once caused any trouble, and i've been everywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Take a look at Huddersfields record AFTER games against Leeds over the last few seasons. If I was a Town supporter I'd not be very happy that they seem to try harder against Leeds then go on a really bad run! Shouldn't they always try hard regardless of who they are playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

He wont get booed lol, when he came back with Leicester last season he did Leeds salute to Kop and we were all singing and he knows he is hes Leeds and Jermaine beckford scored a ****** great goal in the ****hole.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shame Rudy's not fit, he'd show clayton what a midfield enforcer is :) reckon Browny will sort him out ho

Believable24 Unbelievable13

Put in perspective, it's £27 for one adult to watch the game in the home stands on Saturday. if our home tickets were under 30 quid people would be more likely to buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, and Brighton have a management team who are INVESTING in their club, unlike Bates...

...enough said?

When Bates has gone we'll be back!

Brighton is expensive too....was gonna go watch the leeds Brighton games but due to change in date and work commitments and coursework I can't get there

Middlesbrough recently dropped the ticket price to £12 , result 27,000 turned up.Factor in additional revenue food, drink, programmes it has to be worth it.

What about the season ticket holders and members?...If i were either I would prefer to see a full stadium with our old "intimidating atmosphere" MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

2 home games in the space of a few days. Christmas coming. Economic recession. All adds up. The club could review their pricing structure to reflect the current environment. I just can't afford to go to every home game what with the price of fuel, admission etc and I'm sure thousands of Leeds fans are in the same position.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's gone gfh are now in charge come back fickle useless fans

Agree0 Disagree1

He is just a puppet with no control anymore. Do you think they are going to spend £20+ mil and have 100% control and let him have a say...No of course not.

Stop sitting on the fence and start to support your club. If not, bugger off and support Huddersfield.

Agree1 Disagree1

Bates has gone.

He's still chairman, but now it's someone else who is running the club and putting in the dough.

Agree1 Disagree0

Things dont add up im afraid. If its a buyout then why should a hated figure such as Bates stay on and then be honured with role of El Presedente! Crazy. Dont blame fans for staying away.

Agree0 Disagree1

"it's £27 for one adult to watch the game in the home stands on Saturday. if our home tickets were under 30 quid people would be more likely to buy" the tickets are under £30!

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally, I admit the takeover left me jaded and I stayed away, more from subconscious disappointed position than a conscious protest. However after returning on Saturday with my 11yr old son, the £80 for tickets was worth the result, but the quality of football was not. Yes we have our injury problems but our current first team are struggling to find fluidity and consistency in passing and attack. My son is currently being drawn to the Bar codes and I would hope some quality comes through soon, give me some additional desire to watch our great team, it's not just the result, playing the long ball game is like rolling a dice. Not keen on warnock's style, even if it can produce results - if applied correctly. I'll attend more when we start offering better value for the money. I am not boycotting, just simply supply and demand.
Robie

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates has nothing to do with running the club, he's there solely to help the new owners through transition period, he has no say on running the club , receives no money from your pocket and has nothing to do with financial matters, how many more times do you need telling, all you are doing is hurting the club you allege to support, thats to everyone who says they are still staying away because of bates

Agree0 Disagree0

AND how many times do you need telling ? He IS in charge until the 21st of December thats a FACT! Not a penny until he is gone! From a fan of 40 years standing who was not afraid of saying no more and walking away. I will be back when its done and when I am ready mate NOT when you say so!

Anybody who believes this crap are living in cuckoo land.

BATES IS STILL IN CHARGE AT PRESENT, END OF?

CAN YOU PEOPLE NOT READ PLAIN ENGLISH?

When Bates is no longer chairman he WILL NOT BE IN CHARGE?

Other people MAY be investing, and hopefully will have the power to oust Bates once the League approve this takeover.

BUT UNTILL THEN BATES IS STILL IN CHARGE!!

"Bates has nothing to do with running the club"

How gullible are you?

If Bates had nothing to do with running this club he would have walked away.

He IS STILL IN CHARGE untill he is ousted and the only reason that hasn't happened is that GFH do NOT have the money to buy him off outright yet.

Ireland is just like Bentley. massively talented, but both believed their own hype and don't work hard enough. I wouldn't say no to either of them at Leeds for a promotion push though.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy who doesn't believe we will win the league I checked out the stats
If we win on sat we will have 29pts from 20 games or 1.45 PTs per game or record would read 8-5-7 and if we had the two loan signings at stat of year I believe we would prob have a record closer to 10-5-5 which would read as 1.75 PTs per game this would put us at 80pts at the end of the season which is garenteed playoff place , so if we strengthen again in January and got it up to about 2.00pts per game they are easily gain automatic promotion or maybe championswe could easily make up lost ground on the leaders {Ed003's Note - I reckon 80 pts wont be far off winning the league this season,it's bonkers}

He is utter rubbish now doesn't train or have any work ethic . Also you couldn't afford his wages . I love the fact you have this bit of cash & you want all these has been players on massive wages.
