Just found out one of the interested parties is Ken Morrison and his son and a 3rd person believed to be his nephew im guessing Ken will finance the deal but wont play a part in running it.

Palace set to confirm Joel Ward capture

CRYSTAL Palace are set to make their first breakthrough in the summer transfer market this afternoon with Joel Ward expected to put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

The Eagles had already held talks with the 22-year-old a couple of weeks ago and there were further discussions last Wednesday with boss Dougie Freedman.

The signing will be a major coup for Palace as they look set to beat off interest from Leeds, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool to land the talented youngster.

Palace have made signing a right-back a top priority with Nathaniel Clyne expected to leave this summer.

Ward is scheduled to arrive in South London this afternoon to confirm his move from the cash-strapped South Coast outfit.

Ive heard 2 other stories 1 was it was the next 48 hours and another story he had gone on holidays for 2 weeks and will sort his future out when he returns

Absolute rubbish. Any true Leeds fans would know that although we are not rich, the club is financially sound. If anything the signs would suggest that there is some sort of take over or buy out in the air. Let's hope so.

In response to the first two replies... Well said! We are one of a handful of clubs to make a profit year in year out for the last few years! Admin will not be coming near us.

Make a profit year on year? all in KB pocket. need to invest in players for the club to perform better. a chairman who cared about the club would run it a zero profit in the short term making proffits as a better club in times to come. KB out

Hi. I was the poster who before the beginning of last season said that th away shirt for the 2011-12 season would be a black strip. Everyone didnt believe this was possible, but we've seen the outcome.

This weekend, before all the internet traffic about this whole bates selling up business started, i heard a rumour that Leeds United are looking at selling up to a Saudi based individual for a sum of around 60 million.

This would make sense and follow a pattern. As we've seen in the press, the creditors are paying out money that tyhe club owe to seperate parties after the mess of administration. Bates wants to settle as many debts as he can so that the prospect of buying Leeds United looks a more attractive one.

Think about it, settling debts, Casino bid, New stand in less than a season and possibly a new stand this season, one of the biggest turnover clubs in the football league and of course a push for promotion to the Premier League... It makes sense to sell now.

Yes it smells good and I for one agree that it would make sense..... But when did common sense appeal to KB ? What is he really trying to achieve from owning the club ? I sometimes wonder

Wishful thinking bout takeover here. Im sure the reason there has been no movement in the transfer market is we wont bring anyone else in til some of the deadwood has been shifted, That could take a while i mean who in their right mind would want most of those available.

I sincerly hope this is true. Because as it stands at the moment next season will be a dog fight with further dwindling attendances, then this will be blamed on the fans for lack of "Investment" in "your Club"

But we aren't on a promotion push at the moment are we? We can't even afford to raise £400k for a much needed defender. It will be the same squad as last season minus the cherry picked quality. Until we show some results (by bringing in good players) then nobody will want to buy us full stop.

I think common sense has always appealed to KB. He bought Chelsea for knack all and sold it for millions. He's doing the same with us. Sounds like a good plan to me.

To the person that stated we couldn't raise 400k for ward as I have already said the real reason this deal didn't go through was to do with portsmouth wanting changes to the fee and ward changing his mind to go to palace for family reasons. Nothing to do with Leeds not having the money.

Don't want Saudi dictators tainting our club's reputation. and yes, i'm well aware of how other teams regard us.

The money for settling the final payment for Administration will have been set aside at the time with the exception of the £4.75m due on promotion to the Premier Leahue before 2017. This has nothing to do do with future investment as it would have happened regardless.
The investment will be from North America (not MLS) although there has also been a rumour of Quatari investment

To be fair wen its put like that then takeover sounds like it could be true, but in all honesty i cannot see any 1 wanting to invest in us while KB is here and i doubt he will sell up till were back in prem, when we are worth more. bear in mind i dnt really have a clue how it all works i just have a feeling nothing good will come to leeds for a while yet...

Let's face it... KB looks at Leeds as purely business. He has saved us from the brink of extinction so we should all be grateful but the fact is that he has always been willing to sell our best players despite the manager's and fans feelings. There have been some amazing players at LUFC over the past 5 years and definitely a team worthy of the Prem. Problem is that KB has always sold our best players far too easily and far too cheaply just to make a quick quid. He's like a poker player that will only bet when he's got a good hand and not take any risks because he only thinks about the amount of chips that he's got. We need somebody now who seriously has the best interests of the club and the fans at heart and who is willing to take a risk or two and encourage the manager, the players and us loyal fans.

Hope ime wrong but i just think its warnocks on holiday and so is bates thats why its all quiet no one will join and no one will leave for at least 2 weeks

Kinda heard all this before, it just seems were clutching at straws again.

These rumours always seem to fade away, so It will take a lot more than a few rumours to make it believable.

Would be nice to see a change, but I'm really not sure if a takeover will occur.
