Just found out one of the interested parties is Ken Morrison and his son and a 3rd person believed to be his nephew im guessing Ken will finance the deal but wont play a part in running it.

Believable3 Unbelievable14

Don't think so. Bids are from North America & Qatar

Agree0 Disagree0

Oblivious bull, ken Morrison never had any kids!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The same Sir Ken morrison the died in 2007.

Look it up

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken Morrison tried for Bradford a few years back but disagreed with the current owner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Toronto based firm have denied it. Really hope it's the Austrian chap who was told to F off when he wanted to buy us in 2010. Can't remember his name. Anyone but bates right now would be good though

Agree0 Disagree0

And that was supposed to say Australian not Austrian. Too early for me. And his name was Lowy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sir ken morrison is still alive look on wiki,i think you owe him and his family an apology

Agree0 Disagree0

Which Ken morrison are we talking about cant be the owner of supermarket chain he never had kids

The scratching shed has just posted comments made by the LUST that there is at least one bid on the table to buy out LUFC possibly two bids but one seams further down the line than the other. Could this one be really what we have all been waiting for, I hope so....

white4ever........

Believable16 Unbelievable5

I have just read this. Its very good news. Lets hope it does come to something.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was even on look north saying something about them being canadian??

Agree0 Disagree0

Look North never mentioned Canadians - just breaking news that LUST had commented on bids for LUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard on BBC Radio Leeds this morning that it can't be the Canadians because their company is actually being taken over itself!

Althought they did kind of say that the other interested party is from Qatar. Finally- money we need!!

Agree0 Disagree0

There has been a confirmed bid on the table to buy out LUFC

I'm sure Ken Bates has had plenty of people interested in buying Leeds, but they will be worth a lot more if they are a premiership club and I think that is what he's hoping for, get Leeds promoted as cheap as possible, sell up for a massive profit and ship out to Monaco, why should this round of rumours be ant different ?

Believable10 Unbelievable4

He can't get us promotion the way he runs the club (on the pitch)it would make sense for him to take a large profit and run, with the onfield investment always low he could find himself in charge of a league 1 side again--better for all this way

PHIL HAY: Yorkshire Evening Post Chief Sports Writer. Posted on Twitter that he's aware of 2 groups in discussion to buy Leeds Utd. One further down the line than the other. May explain the lack of transfer movment right now but
Im sure NW will be made aware and it could significantly change our status. WARD gone to Palace....could be the worst decision he's made .

Believable15 Unbelievable0

Why anyone would choose palace over leeds i have no idea. stupid kid. overrated right back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Ward may be gutted, but I dont think he had a choice really we would not pay the fee, so he took the best option he had available which imo was palace over ipswich.

This silence is strange and a bit poor! Even by Leeds standards of poor communication. The Canadians were quick to deny yet our club keeps it's supporters in the dark. Ok Neil is on holiday but surely Ken and his staff are aware of all this talk. I personally do not believe any of it as Ken thinks if he finishes the other stand and does the casino deal the club will be worth a lot more. The only optimism I have is that the club itself without the playing staff is growing massively and whoever takes it on eventually will only need to invest in playing staff to progress. I am as frustrated as anyone but I do think that it's a question of when not if that we go up and this time it will be for good as we have really put the house in order.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Fact is leeds are not a viable takeover option untill its reunited with the stadium doesnt matter how much the stadium is redeveloped the club is only valued on its assets and the only assets we own is the playing staff

Agree0 Disagree0

The canadians may have denied the rumour due to instructions from Bates about a takeover. If they are in talks about a takeover Bates wouldn't want anything being revealed before the deal was done or almost complete as it could build up the hopes of the fans. Then if the deal fell through it would mean more fans on his back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any silence will be due to confidentiality agreements which is standard in these situations

Agree0 Disagree0

The club doesn't comment on speculation been a Leeds supporter you should know that? And why should they comment on rubbish rumours that have no substance? The manager is on holiday and it has already been revealed that bates wouldn't be on Yorkshire radio for a while earlier in the month.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very strange how nobody connected to the club is saying there's definitely no take over imminent

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet u all feel stupid a bit has been made. Just hope fat ken accepts I.

if norwich have offered only 1.4mil for snoody it just shows how much there rate him

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Snoddy will be staying to atleast january according to warnock on ssn and if leeds can get £2 mill for howson last jan then snods is twice the player so would be £4mill in jan but will not be Norwich as lambert has be told he has no money to spend unless he sells

Agree0 Disagree0

No mate, Sorry to say this but it show's how much they rate Leeds........

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy wont go for any less than 3.5m. swansea made 46million profit last year, norwich will have made a similar amount as they finished one place below them in the premier league. norwich got no money to spend unless they sell? absolute nonsense.

Palace set to confirm Joel Ward capture

Monday, 28 May 2012

CRYSTAL Palace are set to make their first breakthrough in the summer transfer market this afternoon with Joel Ward expected to put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

The Eagles had already held talks with the 22-year-old a couple of weeks ago and there were further discussions last Wednesday with boss Dougie Freedman.

The signing will be a major coup for Palace as they look set to beat off interest from Leeds, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool to land the talented youngster.

Palace have made signing a right-back a top priority with Nathaniel Clyne expected to leave this summer.

Ward is scheduled to arrive in South London this afternoon to confirm his move from the cash-strapped South Coast outfit.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Ive heard 2 other stories 1 was it was the next 48 hours and another story he had gone on holidays for 2 weeks and will sort his future out when he returns

Just a thought, if we sell snodgrass, why dont we go after Chris Powell from Crewe, im sure a £1M bid would tempt them?

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Chris Powell? Isn't he the Charlton boss? Can't imagine we'll convince him to come out of retirement! Nick Powell on the other hand is a good shout, although I think he's being courted by The Scum

Agree0 Disagree0

Scum are in for him for a fee of about 4 million. dont put his name on your shirt just yet if i were you.

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll cost a lot more than 1 mil or even 4 mil! really good prospect and he should be a player that we look at but we'll be out priced cos we can't even part ways with 400k to sign ward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh why not .. when a 4mil deal has already been agreed with scum

Heard a strong rumour of administration.
Gutted..Bates must go

Believable9 Unbelievable14

Ha ha you numpty! How can we be going into admin when we made over £3M last year

get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute rubbish. Any true Leeds fans would know that although we are not rich, the club is financially sound. If anything the signs would suggest that there is some sort of take over or buy out in the air. Let's hope so.

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to the first two replies... Well said! We are one of a handful of clubs to make a profit year in year out for the last few years! Admin will not be coming near us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Make a profit year on year? all in KB pocket. need to invest in players for the club to perform better. a chairman who cared about the club would run it a zero profit in the short term making proffits as a better club in times to come. KB out

Agree0 Disagree0

New shirt sponser announced .........maybe now we can afford another player??

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Dont be daft... it'll end up squeezing into bates already full wallet

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF how can this be unbelivable because it on the leeds site can see that the fans got to the official site XD.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think the money will go to the team. but we do have a new sponser

Agree0 Disagree0

We've just signed a new deal with Enterprise Insurance - this is false info {Ed013's Note - No it is true. Leeds are having a second shirt sponsor and I think it is with the company iluv}

Norwich supposidly putting an open bid of 1.4mil for snodgrass. If its true lets see how much bates will hold out for.

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Hopefully, not at all but if he has to go, at least four times that amount with a minimum £5m stipulated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paper noncence snods will stay at leeds untill xmas at leeds and if leeds are near leeds wont sell then they will risk all or nothing to get promoted ie beckford

Agree0 Disagree0

If Leeds accept that ridiculous offer from Norwich, then Leeds United become a bigger joke than what we are already turning out to be! Snodgrass is the hottest property in the Football League, even bigger than the 1 season wonder which is Jordan Rhodes!! To sell someone who has the class Snodgrass has would be bizarre! Sell the club Bates, get someone in with a football desire!! Snodgrass goes, Warnock walks....FACT!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to tell Norwich exactly what to do with that pathetic valuation but i'm 100% certain Ed wouldn't be allowed to post it. {Ed013's Note - It is definitely more than 1.4 million!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes rated in the press at £8 million, personally i would accept £6 million.
Save bates from putting his hand in his deep pockets

Agree0 Disagree0

Usual paper talk rubbish ! If Jordan Rhodes is worth 8 million ?? what a complete joke.. mind you so are Norwich... premiership club wanting to buy players on the cheap, that's typical of a small time club in the big misters league !!

Hi. I was the poster who before the beginning of last season said that th away shirt for the 2011-12 season would be a black strip. Everyone didnt believe this was possible, but we've seen the outcome.

This weekend, before all the internet traffic about this whole bates selling up business started, i heard a rumour that Leeds United are looking at selling up to a Saudi based individual for a sum of around 60 million.

This would make sense and follow a pattern. As we've seen in the press, the creditors are paying out money that tyhe club owe to seperate parties after the mess of administration. Bates wants to settle as many debts as he can so that the prospect of buying Leeds United looks a more attractive one.

Think about it, settling debts, Casino bid, New stand in less than a season and possibly a new stand this season, one of the biggest turnover clubs in the football league and of course a push for promotion to the Premier League... It makes sense to sell now.

MOT

Believable18 Unbelievable5

Yes it smells good and I for one agree that it would make sense..... But when did common sense appeal to KB ? What is he really trying to achieve from owning the club ? I sometimes wonder

Agree0 Disagree0

As if! Bates would keep the clubs debt and pass them on to the next buyer

Agree0 Disagree0

Wishful thinking bout takeover here. Im sure the reason there has been no movement in the transfer market is we wont bring anyone else in til some of the deadwood has been shifted, That could take a while i mean who in their right mind would want most of those available.

Agree0 Disagree0

I sincerly hope this is true. Because as it stands at the moment next season will be a dog fight with further dwindling attendances, then this will be blamed on the fans for lack of "Investment" in "your Club"

Agree0 Disagree0

But we aren't on a promotion push at the moment are we? We can't even afford to raise £400k for a much needed defender. It will be the same squad as last season minus the cherry picked quality. Until we show some results (by bringing in good players) then nobody will want to buy us full stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

The tide has turned bates on way out watch this space takeover happening

Agree0 Disagree0

On your part this post is quite clever..why? because there is no way to varify you has the original poster, now mix in your speculation after a fact, to add credibility to your interpretation of events on this site over the last few days....however I hope you are correct would sort the whole sorry mess out. mot

Agree0 Disagree0

I think common sense has always appealed to KB. He bought Chelsea for knack all and sold it for millions. He's doing the same with us. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person that stated we couldn't raise 400k for ward as I have already said the real reason this deal didn't go through was to do with portsmouth wanting changes to the fee and ward changing his mind to go to palace for family reasons. Nothing to do with Leeds not having the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want Saudi dictators tainting our club's reputation. and yes, i'm well aware of how other teams regard us.

Agree0 Disagree0

The money for settling the final payment for Administration will have been set aside at the time with the exception of the £4.75m due on promotion to the Premier Leahue before 2017. This has nothing to do do with future investment as it would have happened regardless.
The investment will be from North America (not MLS) although there has also been a rumour of Quatari investment

Agree0 Disagree0

60 million the club isnt worth 60 million the only way leeds united will be sold if some how bates can reunite leeds with elland road that way we at least we will be worth something

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair wen its put like that then takeover sounds like it could be true, but in all honesty i cannot see any 1 wanting to invest in us while KB is here and i doubt he will sell up till were back in prem, when we are worth more. bear in mind i dnt really have a clue how it all works i just have a feeling nothing good will come to leeds for a while yet...

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2012 09:44:16
It's all gone quiet because Warnocks quite obviously put Bates under huge pressure to actually get his wallet out. no one's been able to silence Bates for this long. There wont be a takeover, Bates will be here till he dies.

More of a; we're looking for a few investments kind of talk more likely going on.

Believable11 Unbelievable5

I think you will find it has gone quiet because Neil has gone on holiday!!

Leeds United are in the midst of a takeover. Substantial funds are to be made available to the manager, ailthough its unclear whether this will be neil warnock. Due to ill health and disillusionment with fans ken bates has decided to sell the club

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Pig swill. Bates will never sell whilst he's still alive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look this had better be true, if it isnt you shouldnt be posting stuff like that on here, building all our hopes up ect ect... where you get this information anyway, how do you know, if this not true, you cant be a true leeds fan making up roumers like this.....bates will never sell, unless another multi billionare comes in and offers stupid money...hx white

Agree0 Disagree0

Simple fact is warnocks on holiday bates on holiday and nothing will happen for 2 weeks

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's face it... KB looks at Leeds as purely business. He has saved us from the brink of extinction so we should all be grateful but the fact is that he has always been willing to sell our best players despite the manager's and fans feelings. There have been some amazing players at LUFC over the past 5 years and definitely a team worthy of the Prem. Problem is that KB has always sold our best players far too easily and far too cheaply just to make a quick quid. He's like a poker player that will only bet when he's got a good hand and not take any risks because he only thinks about the amount of chips that he's got. We need somebody now who seriously has the best interests of the club and the fans at heart and who is willing to take a risk or two and encourage the manager, the players and us loyal fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope ime wrong but i just think its warnocks on holiday and so is bates thats why its all quiet no one will join and no one will leave for at least 2 weeks

Agree0 Disagree0

Takeover? Nah maybe you misheard. Bates will have said makeover. Just build a casino here, a hotel there, a row of boxes……

Wasnt this rumour in 2008? Give us a link if it is a new takeover bid by them

Agree0 Disagree0

Kinda heard all this before, it just seems were clutching at straws again.

These rumours always seem to fade away, so It will take a lot more than a few rumours to make it believable.

Would be nice to see a change, but I'm really not sure if a takeover will occur.
