It is not NOEL HUNT the verbal agreement is with, unfortunately if my source is right, it is NOT even a striker! but a defender from another Championship side and that's as much as he would tell, source is Northern based football reporter for a national paper and not a red top
Believable21
Unbelievable58
Matt Mills is joining on season long loan but Hunt will be joining aswell on 1st of July.

A reporter keeping something secret, there's a first.
Wake up!

I work for local media in the Yorkshire area and news here is its Noel Hunt that has the verbal agreement in place with LUFC
Agree1
Disagree0
I don't care who the signing is, I just want another one.
Agree0
Disagree0
Worst kept secret at ER its Noel Hunt and I'll eat my short if he isn't
Agree0
Disagree0
The media gets most transfer stories wrong so I couldn't give a jot what they think. That said a CB makes sense, though I wouldn't expect it to be Matt Mills given his salary demands.
Agree0
Disagree0
Youll eat uour short what?? Are one of them bmempain olypics types? Hunt or not we need a signing.
Agree0
Disagree0
Really? We thought we needed signings a year ago -and look at the shower we ended up with. Does anyone seriously think Hunt would much of an improvement on, say, Varney? I'd rather Brian work with the core of decent players that we've already got, whilist gradually incorporating the best of the youth, than clog up the squad with a load more journeymen and veterans as Warnock did. As it happens, I think Brian thinks the same way -he is intelligent and patient enough to do so, as well as being sufficiently confident in his own ability. All a refreshing change from what we'd got used to. Chapel A

Apparently we are after Noel's brother Noak Hunt! Got this off my terriors friend! Apparently we are a bit of a laughing stock and got no real ammunition to fight back!

Its already a done deal. I really try to be upbeat being a Leeds fan but this is a real challenge.
Agree0
Disagree0
A fit Morrison for Noel Hunt surely that's not right, we must have enough to bring 2 players in or why bother
Agree0
Disagree0
If brian brings hunt in and sends morrison out then 4 me he's just as bad as neil warnnock was as hunt is in no way any better than morrison infact he's much slower and much less of a teamplayer so if this happens then its obvious why he's not been given any decent money as this would show just how poor a choice of player he has in mind.
Agree1
Disagree0
So we've let a £2.5m player go on loan for a player whose record is worse than 1 goal every 4 games and has scored 79 goals in 12 years. I bet I know who scores more this season and he won't be in white. I fancied Morison to do well this season, this is bad business.

Thought his name was mike! Or issac?
Agree0

It proves that GFH are potless chancers. A fit Morison may get 15-20 goals and Hunt may get 7-10 sounds like a terrible bit of business
Agree0
Disagree0
28 Jun 2013 23:25:43
Bad business was swapping your 19 goal leading scorer for a player Norwich were desperate to get rid of, who is utter garbage and doesn't want to play for our club. Warnock you fool.

@ comment 6. am I delighted that BMcD is the manager of LUFC and you are not. you can bet your life on it that I am. If he believes that Hunt can do the job he wants doing better than Morison then he, BMcD, has a history of unearthing footballing talent and I respect that judgement and would certainly trust his judgement before your misguided opinion.

Well said comment 11. McDermott knows how he wants the team to play and that's good football. If he thinks this will strengthen his team then he's more informed to make this call than people on here. Can't believe how quick Leeds 'fans' can be to criticise. It's pathetic

Lol u dnt need 2 b a manager to see noel hunt is no better than steve morrison. he's slow he has no skill and he's lazy weldone brian very wise lmao. i'm a leeds fan and I dnt expect big deals 2 b made as its obvious we dnt have the money but its mindless to get rid of a player who is better than the man united are bringing in lol just look at his stats for god sake. only reason hunt will join is cus he's a friend of brians nothing to do with football reasons obviously.
Agree0

I disagreed with your post, partly because I don't think hunt is that bad, but mainly because you said man United.

I think Morrison will score more than hunt and smith combined next season and you can add dross McCormack in and Morrison will still come oyr on top!

He really showed that kind of potential last season didn't he!
Or was I watching a different team.
Agree0

"I cannot understand it". simples, BMcD said that he only wanted players who were fully committed to LUFC and, perhaps he doesn't think that Steve Morison is.

After this past weeks events I was wondering what happened to the Pearson deal rumour, I'd that died a death now, never there anyway or still bubbling under the surface? Not a rumour just a genuine question, had a look back in past posts and haven't seen anything about it. Love bmacs comments the other day about how much he's committed to us as well after everything that's gone on, no moaning just getting on with it, that positivity will no doubt pass on to the players as the negativity that warnock gave out when he did the opposite. If we sign no one else and sell none of our stars (star) I personally think we will be easily top half/play offs and along with that, playing good football too, some might say its not an improvement on last season but again personally I'd rather watch good attacking football and finish the same rather than last seasons hoofball
Believable33

Love your optimism buddy, but believe me, if we do not sign anyone else, we will definately not get to the play offs and very much doubt being in the top half.

Well said mate. Totally agree
Agree1

Come on with likes of Ashdown, Brown, Varney, Pearce, Norris, can you honestly see us top half? All those ex Pompey players were in a relegated side the season before, and will be again, why o why did Warnock think they would improve our team. I saw Pugh was a first day training as well, thought we'd got rid of him to the Owls!
Agree0
Disagree0
Well said mate, about time we had some optimism on here.
Agree0
Disagree0
I totally agree with original poster. I know this isn’t an exact science, but, before doom and gloom grips you all regards the same players. Mcds Leeds Utd managerial career is a 60 percent win record, a 60 percent win record last year would have had us as champions last year. Even if you take Mcds average win record over all of his managerial career, 42 percent, that would have put us fourth in the championship last year. So perhaps its not all about the same players as last year, its about the man pulling the strings. Come on lads and lasses, even if nothing else changes we know we will be playing better football, more organised, playing as a team than last year. In Mcd we trust.
Agree1
Disagree0
To the first reply:
Take on board some of that optimism!
I've played semi-pro football for years, the same bunch of "down-and-out's" can become "world beaters" with the right coaching and management! I agree that our squad probably isn't one of the greatest in the division, but I do thik it's better than Warnock allowed them to be, as evidenced by the points earned in BMD's few games in charge at the end of the season!
I'm looking forward to this season. I'm not bothered whether we get a marquee signing or have to put up with wheeling and dealing, because it'll be new ideas with a fresh new brand of football again. Whether it works or not is to be seen, but I am OPTIMISTIC that I will at least enjoy watching us again this year!
Agree0
Disagree0
Well said personally I reckon if we keep byram and lees and maybe sign a bit of pace and passing abitlity (rowe?) we should stand a chance of finishing playoffs or just under
Agree0
Disagree0
Same as last season
same players (not good enough)
relegation battle from the very start of the season! not from the last 6 games!!
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree we have to start keeping some of the same players around. We seem to change most of the full team every year since 2002. We must have had more players than any other team in the last ten years.
Players will play better playing with the same players week in week out FACT. (this fact actually is a fact)
Agree0
Disagree0
The last few games of the season under McDermott were more exciting to watch than pretty much the whole season prior to his arrival. Even with the same players I'm optimistic of at least a more enjoyable season, if not a better one points wise.
Agree0
Disagree0
Nice thinking, a bit of positivity. he managed promotion with reading and no stars. he made stars
Agree0
Disagree0
People are deluded. We will not sign anyone for a transfer fee unless Lees and Byram go. We will do well to stay in the top half of the table next season. Could well be involved in a relegation battle. Be a very good test to see just how good BMD is.

Relegation battles? Bottom half of the table?
No chance! BmcD is too good to see us in that position.
The way the so called "has beens" played once he arrived was a transformation from the warlock days. Expect to be challenging from day 1, and have some faith.
Agree0

Agree with the second to last comment. McD is putting together an awful side. The players we are linked with don't seem up to the job. I think we will stay up but no way on this planet will we be challenging to go up. If we go up I will literally run around leeds ring road naked.
Agree0
Disagree0
To the guy who'll run round naked if we're up there challenging, u have around 8 or 9 months to tone up and get fit! Apart from the last few games none of us have seen this side play proper football and u will be surprised (and naked) very soon. U don't have to have big names or expensive signings to pass and move, bmac has proved that already

He's putting together and awful side? He's signed one player!

Leeds interested in taking Maynard on a season long loan from Cardiff.
Believable24
Unbelievable43
What will we pay him with?
Agree0

As long as he likes peanuts we will be fine getting over the line!
Agree0

Would be a good deal. Maynard is a fast paced striker with a good shot strength. Watched him several times in Bristol but he hasn't had much playing time of recent. He needs to display his talent and won't get a show at Cardiff in Prem.

If Morrison goes its a cash deal no loans
I'm surprised by BM comments that only a couple of enquiries for our players I fully expect McCormack, Byram and Warnock to leave to free up some cash.
Agree1

Obviously he was correct about one, fair play
Agree1

Fair play to the original poster. Looks like the first part could come true. Leaves us a little light up front though, so maybe another striker is in the offering, possibly Hunt? Or is McD going to give Poleon more of a role?
Agree0

Morison IS going back to Millwall.
Agree0

Morison loan being reported on TV related website so could be true
Agree0
Disagree0
Morrison gone to millwall on loan, this could well come back to haunt us, I would rather have sold him but watch him score a hat-trick against us now
Agree0
Disagree0
Previous poster here, I retract my comments about coming back to haunt us, he can't play against us, but if he starts bangin em in for Millwall we need to recall him immediately
Agree0
Disagree0
Thats a lot of unbelievables for something that's true
Agree0

Well the first part is now done. Waiting for part number 2 to go through. May be late business for Leeds but its never straightforward with Leeds.
Agree0

Sadly didn't work out for morrison, can see him doing well next season though for Millwall, another cock up at leeds inflicted by warnock.

Hello, received some info that Morison's loan was to get Mills over the line. That will be completed next week. Hunt was never a problem but his honeymoon/wedding/holidays have made the deal go on for longer. Should be done next week also.
