Not a rumour, but wondered about Ridgewell off Birmingham? They need money, he's been mentioned as one of their players who's looking to leave? Could be a realistic signing, perhaps, decent player I think.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

If they need money, you think Leeds are the club to come to ?

Lichaj signed tomorrow on a season loan
Keith Andrew from Blackburn also signing. These 2 signings will happen tomorrow
Same source as I got the Michael Brown signing info from

Believable14 Unbelievable14

Isn't Lichaj in Hong Kong with Villa? not sure when hes back

Agree0 Disagree0

All I know is that the 2 signings will happen today - Friday

Agree0 Disagree0

Same source...........oh you mean you read it on here and copied it lol

Agree0 Disagree0

If Leeds dont sign any of these players today Im going to come back on here and post a HA HA HA HA message at you matey

Which one midfielder would you fellow fans like to see out of these clingan montgomery quinn wellens koumas

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Montgomery or Koumas, both experienced in the Championship, both played in Premier League.

Both would be nice...

Agree0 Disagree0

Either Clingan or Wellens, then we could play a 4-5-1 with Gradel and Snodgrass out wide, Brown and Clingan/Wellens in deep midfield with Howson in attacking midfield. Just my opinion, you'll probably still find a way of criticising it, though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wellens without any doubt whatsoever (so thats put the mockers on that one)

Monte could have come last year but didn't, and I'd have said yes then but not now.

Koumas is probably passed it

Not sure about Clingan or Quinn, either would give some strength in depth.

I'd have preferred Jones from Wolves but that's now looking unlikely.

I suspect Larry is looking at two players not listed here and I'd trust his judgement. We are building a useful squad, it is just taking longer than we would like. Surely I can't be the only one to think his signings so far have been positive.

Onwards and upwards

Agree0 Disagree0

Clingan, just depends on ken and his money, and then montgomery/wellens. koumas i think would struggle this year in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Wellens is different class in this division, Leicester would be insane to sell him to a rival

if u boo smith on sunday shame on you lets make him feel at home

Believable19 Unbelievable17

Agree he's been to games and whilst he admitted he expected a hostile reception I don't think it's wholly fair

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank god I'm not the only one I'm absolutely dreading it I feel sad that the only focus is on what reception smithy will get rather than the actual game

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as the focus should be on the game smith deserves everything he gets the money grabing b**tard the only thing that loves the cllub but would rather sit on the bench in the premiership then drop his wages to play for the 'club he loves' that really is the true doings of a Leeds fan i hope we told smith to f*** off we only want players who want to play for Leeds not one last pay cheque

Agree0 Disagree0

I pay my money and I'll express my opinions how I choose

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it's wholly fair..
And whys that then?
If your going to say because he was forced to go prove it Lorimer said the opposite 6 months prior. Or that he saved us, really we still went tits up.

Agree0 Disagree0

No your mistaken, people do care about the game and the 11 players that'll be playing in white. We are LEEDS first, Smithy will get some stick but so will Bates. Dont make out hes some poor little sheep because he isnt. He was mocking the leeds fans with Barton the last time they chanted, so dont expect him to cry too much.

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes me chuckle is his fanclub believe theirs a chance he'll sign if he gets a good reception lol
If he was gonna sign he'd have done it already>Wishful thinking

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreeing with your own comments again-shame on you

Agree0 Disagree0

IT ISN'T HIS HOME, IF IT WAS HE WOULDNT DEMAND 60K TO RETURN TO IT
M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally ou narrow minded fools, smith is a football player out for his best interests as anyone would be.

sure i'd love him to become a leeds plauyer and watch him pull on that white shirt all over again, he was my idol growing up as a leeds fan, but people change over time, things happen that we don't agree with, he's a person and a professional, and i think it would make us look unprofessional and just grows the bad image of foul play.

the best reaction for when he returns is to give him no reaction.

grow up children. its football, not the end of the world.

"I pay my money and I'll express my opinions how I choose"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well said mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people can react to smith however they want to...me personally I'm going to clap him cos at the end of the day he was a class player for us and he saved our club in a way by moving to scum...not that i was/am happy he did but the money did help the club for a while

Agree0 Disagree0

I see even when it is about Smith idiots still involve Bates Why waste energy on things that we have no control over and get behind the team- mind you, the people slagging off the chairman and ex-players probably never set foot in Elland Rd anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

The mere fact that such an avowed Leeds supporter (Smith) moved to Old Trafford at all will be one that many Leeds fans will never be able to see beyond, even though he waived a significant amount of money he was due as part of the deal to help try and satisfy the black hole that was the club's mounting debt at the time.

That he will never be forgiven by many fans is something Smith has come to terms with, but for those spitting out a vitriolic 'Judas' each time he touches the ball on his return, what would have left the biggest void? Losing a player to Manchester United, or seeing the club go to the wall? Worth a second or two to think about, perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally dont think smithy should be booed, he played his heart out for our club and played for more than just money at us, i cant think of any player playing more passionately for his club than smith did for us. when he left he went to Man U, yes because of the promise of championsleague football and perhaps england call-ups, but also because they were the only club that offered a cash sum upfront for him and he gave his cut of the transfer money to Leeds anyway and who knows why he hasnt come back? none of us do, only him, leeds and newcastle do and i think we will never find out, we should applaud smudger

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people can react to smith however they want to...me personally I'm going to clap him cos at the end of the day he was a class player for us and he saved our club in a way by moving to scum...not that i was/am happy he did but the money did help the club for a while

We'd have been better going into Admin early? And since when has collecting cards and missing games been benefiticial to avoiding relegation?

I hope this gets posted and I hope Billy Paynter reads it if so please please stop playing football at this level i'm begging you the most over rated donkey to have pulled on a Leeds shirt since Pierre Laurent. Anyone who attempts to disagree with me has very limited football knowledge his track record speaks for itself something like 5 goals in what over 50 games for an "out and out striker" in the Championship, also anyone saying give him a chance he's already had plenty Hull, Southend and now us anyone who fails at the like of Hull and Southend (no disrespect to those clubs) surelt hasn't a hope of success with Leeds United and he proved it again last year one lousy goal and all the hype God help us if Becchio is out for a couple of months.

Believable18 Unbelievable8

Agree. I have had the same sentiments for a long while. Paynter is a joke, and the chants of "C'mon Billy' from Gelderds is more out of desperation, exasperation, and goodwill from the faithful. Surely SG can see this now, after the woeful outings in the recent friendlies Leeds play with 10 men when he is on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you haven't noticed, at Swindon, he had Charlie Austin to work with upfront because they played in a 4-4-2, while for most of the games Billy played in at Leeds, were in a 4-5-1 formation, which generally doesn't suit 'out and out strikers' (Jermaine Beckford wouldn't last 2 minutes in a 4-5-1). But when we did play 4-4-2, like against Burnley and QPR, Paynter had someone to work with in Ross McCormack - our version of Austin, and in those games, he played fantastically well. After all, it's not as if you could do any better...

Agree0 Disagree0

Bang on Paynter should be ashamed of himself taking money for a job he doesn't even do

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who mentions 2 games Paynter played brilliantly you clearly have no football knowledge whatsoever you rate a season on 2 perfomances both end of season with very little at stake seeing as Leeds had as good as dropped out of playoff contention. Also with regard to Beckford you clearly don't watch the Premiership since Everton play with 1 up front and Beckford finished as their top striker goalscorer in league so next time you comment please understand what your attempting to say

Agree0 Disagree0

Played fantastically well against Burnley and QPR ??? Next you will be saying we don't need a LB cos we have Bessone

Agree0 Disagree0

You are putting words in his mouth. He said he played fantastically well in those 2 games, he did not say that he thought that ment his season was a success. You keep saying that if people think he will come good that they have very limited football knowledge, but since when as football been an exact science? There are many different theories about what makes a good or bad player, its each to their own. I agree with you that billy doesn't have a good track record at this level & i don't think he is good enough to play for us as a starter, but stop acting as if you know everything & that any theory about how to get the best out of him is rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know u might say anyones better than Paynter, but who would u get in to replace him? Especially if Lucs n Somma are out long term. Ched Evans from Blunts?

Agree0 Disagree0

Back your team and your players you nugget. I for one am hoping Paynter proves us all wrong this season, these sorts of rumours though will do nothing for his confidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not mention every other game he played in so if not measuring him just a couple of performances. I never said I knew everything I merely gave my opinion and stated a couple of facts to back up that opinion. Personally I would take a chance on either Gary Twigg (Shamrock Rovers) or Eamon Zayed (Derry City) both be very cheap and low wages and worth a punt at this level. As for Paynter and his confidence he hasn't and never will have any just like talent so to the dope who hopes he proves us all wrong I expect a full apology on this forum in the comin weeks

Agree0 Disagree0

I think paynter has had long enough to prove himself, answer me this, whatever your job, whatever your profession if you dont do your job properly, or you dont add anything the people you work with dont already add, or you at very least dont improve steadily and progress, are you actually doing your job?? NO, and if your not doing your job, do you deserve to be paid to do it or keep it? NO, as a suppoerter of leeds united i want billy to explode into life and prove us wrong, but is he going to, really, NO.... enough said sorry billy, time to go

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with the person who said Paynter and Beckford are better in 4-4-2 formations just look at Beckford at Leeds SG usually put him up front with Becchio.

The only signings coming in will be on loan when the premier league announce their squads. How's that for ambition?

Believable10 Unbelievable13

28 Jul 2011 20:34:45
When Leeds finshed Championship in 7 i was well impressed. Get rid of johnson, kilkenny, johnson, and whole defence bar kisbo and obrien we be ok. all attacking players ok. Graysons recruitment has been sickening. I desperately wanted smith back, as well as bowyer and woody. now graysona nd bates can shove there season tickets up there arse

Believable11 Unbelievable15

The recruitment isnt over yet so hang fire, and to desperately want a has been like Smith back is lunacy, Bates and Grayson WILL deliver, give em time,

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the point in us signing old men. I m behind Grayson 100%. Bates set a budget that SG has to work within. This is for the clubs benefit, especially when the new league revenue rules come into place. Bates is laying a great foundation for our future. It doesnt happen overnite. A true fan would buy a season ticket and support the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont be daft smith bowyer and woody are past it r u leeds threw and threw or what dont need fans like u i agree the signing so far dont thrill me but support threw thick and thin and all that

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith, woodgate and bowyer?? Are you Marty mcfly? Why would we want to spend a vast amount if wages on three players who are well past their peak and eoudl struggle to play 40 games between them. O'leary and ridsdale aren't here any more mate. Get realistic and get behind the team. Grayson has been an excellent manager so far. If you're gonna tear your season ticket up can you give it to me instead, as I'm looking forward to another cracking season

Agree0 Disagree0

It's silly people like you that we don't want and need as fans Bye Go support that team from across the pennines there used to supporters who only want to support when they're winning

Agree0 Disagree0

How very sad you are.
I'll bet Ken and Larry are pleased YOU were impressed.
Knuckles and ground come to mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here, here to the replies. Funny how this board is full of "fans" who only want to slag off Bates and Grayson, tearing up a season ticket, your having a laugh.

The real fans know what the score is, i for one am delighted with the developments, if we make ourselves a successful business off the pitch, we'll be successful on it. FACT.

I challenge anyone to show me another football club in ANY country who are successful on the pitch and a shambles off it. Not even Man City disregard the power of generating income, even Chelsea have hiked up season ticket prices to underpin the football side.

I'm not saying Bates is the man for the future, probably not, and if he sells us and makes £5 - £10 million, who cares ? He's setting us up for life (providing another person like Ridsdale doesn't show up), and I for one am, and always will be, grateful.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agreed with you until you mentioned dads army

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice to see real fans knocking back the plonker with the original post. Do you really think that KB and SG spend all day with their fingers up their arsenals? SG is a Leeds fan and works tirelessly to to get the right players in to take us forward. If he chooses to sell a keeper with an ego bigger than Elland Rd then I for one trust that it's the right thing to do. Ken Bates saved us and is building a foundation for Leeds Utd to build on and be great again. Let's trust them and back them. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Instead of shoving your season tickets, why don't you send them my way? I'd give anything to see leeds play live, i support the club not the names who may or may not be brought in.

Agree0 Disagree0

If your only interested in old prem boys, why even bother supporting Leeds? They wont return and I for one am glad

Agree0 Disagree0

Disappointed with movement in the transfer market.. YES. But dont you think SG is also ? Leicester has spashed the cash this season and we lumber on with minor changes. I'm expecting realistic 8-11 place with Leicester to achieve top 3 finish (expectations sometimes dont work out or u get surprises). Lets have faith once more but bitch only if we prop up the league or start to lose games 5-0 showing obvious neglect and lack of ambition. I'm cherry picking games to attend this season, KB has done that to me. Unless we perform. Team performance, excitement, expectation, not exec boxes will get me in the gate. Do the same and KB will get the message.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have liked lee back not woody or alan as they both have not played that many games in two years

out of the old team of o'learys i would have martin, Lucas Radebe, dom, dacourt or batty and keane thats it...

i would like to point out that when leeds were in the s**t, Lucas Radebe and dom said to the players about taking a pay cut alan smith and Mark Viduka would not do this... so why have alan smith back? he is not a real fan, real fans dont go to the scum, a real fan would take a pay cut, a real fan would drop down a league and play for pea nuts....

Agree0 Disagree0

Its quite clear to me and probably anyone else with a bit of common sense, that Bates is putting money in the ground and development to a) generate money for the club and b) make it attractive for potential buyers He was the one who sold Chelsea to Abramovich and I'm sure he has someone else lined up to take over the fort at ER. Until that time, where we can compete in the transfer market with good money, be patient and accept things as they are, which to be honest arent even that bad

Agree0 Disagree0

What a tool, if all u want to see is money grabbing ex players that are past it, move to the arab emirates or the us

Agree0 Disagree0

As for Smithy going to the scum, that only happened cos they were the only team willing to take him on a cash only basis and we REALLY needed the cash at that time. Mind you fergie ruined him by turning him in to a mediocre midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

When trying to make a point i like to look at facts, look at smiths record with leeds and after. he was not a good goalscorer and that was all his game was. played alongside viduka who was one our of best ever and he made smith ok but he is crap was then and is worse now. he is so good they play him in defnsive mid and he is no david batty. smith wouldnt make our team and this is a team with PAINTER in it. not my opionion but the stats dont lie. smith is dog-w**k

Agree0 Disagree0

Have just read post and is obviously from an person who doesn't even know where Elland Rd is wanting to resign dad's army(who were part of the team that got us relegated). As for the players who left, Johnson was probably the second best performer after Gradel, certainly in the second half of the season and Kilkenny was the only player who could actually play intelligent football and take charge.I defy anyone on here to say that Snodgrass was a better player than either of these two and be able to back it up

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 20:16:20
cmon leeds we can get promotion we have kept our main players such as gradel , snoddy
, howson, becchio, and players back from loans and injuries who are good such as clayton , kisborbo , and signings who will help with the defence side of it and there will be 4 or 5 more signings who will help midfield and another striker to help also give mccormack confidence and they will fly in also lonergan is a quality signing when he has confidence he will be the best in the league like he was
when preston was in playoffs so cmon
lets get behind the lads and sing our
hearts out . m.o.t

what an absolute joke we areleague 1 here we come.

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Another who's not needed either get behind the team and club as a whole or take your support elsewhere please

Agree0 Disagree0

There is only one joke around here my little friend, and it's most certainley not the club I support and love.

We can do without you and silly comments like that, does the song not go "We're gonna stay with you forever ?"

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be a blunts fan Clearly knows naff all about football. This season we have more grit in midfield (Brown), Kisnorbo is back and the emergence of Nunez will excite all true Leeds fans. I wish the negative t**ts on here would stick to watching Deal Or No Deal. We don't need you MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

What a joke your comment is, we have lost 1 decent keeper and 2 midfielders from the first team and have brought in 1 replacement midfielder and 1 good goalkeeper, signing a LB in lihaj and we are almost there, with gradel snoddyand nunez up there with ross mac, we have a good team, so get behind them, not saying we're going to league one befor the season has even started

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said to all for putting this person back in his place. Either support Leeds in good & bad or go away cos we dont need you

I hate SG's transfer policy keeping all his transfer targets close to his chest, makes for a really crap pre-season.

Wish he would let a couple slip now and again just to give the fans something good to talk about. Instead everyone is making unrealistic transfer targets up with no good source to back it up. Come on SG time to spill the beans MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Patience. Wht should SG tell the world and alert other clubs to our targets. It is after all a business

Agree0 Disagree0

I have allot of respect for his knack of keeping things quiet. It is very amature and disrespectful to talk about players who dont belong to you in the press. We don't like it when other managers talk about our players as if they are theirs for the taking, so what gives our boss the right to do so?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats the idea, let all know who your targets are. Dunce.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't you mugs responding realise these posts are by blunts, owls, terriers etc trying to wind you up, you all bite like f**k and say "don't be silly", course he's not going to let anything slip to the press, get a grip Don't hold your breath waiting for big money signings, loans from prem clubs and 1 or 2 freebies are the best we are going to get, the players we already have are better than all but 3 or 4 clubs in the division and we know what needs to be done after last season, a good system and who knows? You nay saying dicks need to have a bit of faith. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 19:21:30
Looks like mcfadden is one of the 2 bates was talkin about he's a free agent and his position is wingers+forward, they must both be free agents cos bates said we will get them over and have a look at them no club will let there players go to any club for a couple of days and then take them back.

Leeds not getting Johnson or Smith. SO WHAT.. We need players that can play 40+ games... Not 4.

Believable17 Unbelievable6

Well said, why we all worrying when we dont get crocks or players at the end of their careers. We might not go up this year and I dont think for one second we will, but you got to belive SG is building a side for the future not just a quick fix.

David goodwillie bid tomorrow. Snodgrass and Ross mcCormack Scottish connection will hopefully swing it. Leeds have money. As Grayson says only buying players that will improve the club

Believable12 Unbelievable15

Mmm, knowing our owner, i will run around ER naked if he were to spend 2m on a player...isnt gonna happen.....

Agree0 Disagree0

David Goodwillie is going either to Blackburn or Blackpool - Leeds would have to put up 1.5 mill plus Mike Grella as bait to tempt him to Elland Road.... can you see that happening MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

It just shows where we stand these days when we can, t attract players to the club GOODWILLIE will probably opt for Blackpool or Cardiff Johnson went to Leicesterwho next I bet one thing he won, t cost anything whoever he his and he will be heralded by Bates saying we fought off Cheltenham and Lincoln for him

The Hoff {Ed007's Note - The main Leeds Ed isn't around right now, so we are all just keeping the pages moving, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon if we stop talking about KB taking it up the arse we might get some chick ads instead of beefy boys. Google search words and place ads accordingly to match. Rumours in Scotland leeds to bid for goodwillie after being left short of firepower and Grayson unhappy with his strikers in pre season

Believable14 Unbelievable12

Have you not noticed mate were not spending money, so unless they are giving him away then its not going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Goodwillie would be a decent option but can we honestly see Cuddly Ken shelling out £2m?.................I very much doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

We have the schmeichel money plus I'm sure ken can add 1 mil. Would be a great signing. Come on ken

Agree0 Disagree0

This rumour is absolutely without foundation, it appears to be some person sitting at home thinking "what can I add as a rumour". Leeds United FC are rather fed up with this issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

When you say "were not spending money" you don't mean leeds do you? as "we" meaning leeds have just spent money on a new goalkeeper

Agree0 Disagree0

did mention a bid had come from an unamed English club. Has the markings of bates and leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are after him. I wonder which one of the teams is more likely to afford the fee and lure?

The English team is probably Leicester or Ipswich.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much did we actually get for Schmeical nobody as yet has mentioned a fee

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are majorly skint, even with the new owner, it would be MINT if we could get him. Ken's a tight one tho

Agree0 Disagree0

I like to come on here for a laugh...goodwillie will go for 2m - the thought that Bates would pay 2m for a player....so funny

Agree0 Disagree0

When i say were not spending money i wasn't talking about poultry amounts, sorry I didnt realise you had to spell out what you mean for the simpler folk on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that Clingan hasn't come in because they want 1mill shows that we won't spend big sums

Agree0 Disagree0

UNLESS they will accept 10 bob we are not at the races I think Cardiff will buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

Even the simple folk can spell. It's 'paltry' not 'poultry' LMFAO

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol poultry was part of the joke why do you think i said spell things out. Well done on not getting it. LMFAO - like i said simpler folk lol

To all those saying johnson has moved to LCFC, he has NOT Like us he has just been linked with them

Believable4 Unbelievable14

No hes moved u go on there website hes on there players list hes on a year long loan weve lose another player there and were not getting lichaj or smith

Agree0 Disagree0

He HAS joined LCFC Does anyone think the manager of the foxes lookes likes Basil Brush BOOM BOOM

Agree0 Disagree0

On SSN now they signed john pansil and micheal johnson, two great signings imo sadly

Agree0 Disagree0

Go on leicesters official site..... he has signed a 1 year loan deal an there is a picture of him holding the leicester shirt....

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hearing that one of the midfielders might be Henri landsbury

Believable10 Unbelievable14

I would love that Where are you hearing that from? MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

That wouldn't be too dissapointing, he's a good player

Agree0 Disagree0

Played well against us in both games and back at arsenal now. Also a midfielder who can play upfront. Might have some legs this

Agree0 Disagree0

Ill tell simon if he comes on a free or for low wages to snap him up, thanks, k.bates.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 13:03:14
Gary Roberts linked with Leeds. Stumbling block HTFC value player at £250000. Leeds unwilling to pay fee over £100000 for player with only 1 year left on contract

Believable8 Unbelievable10

Wouldnt even bother ... And he would make us better how?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 12:55:18
If micheal jonhson sign 4 leicester hes not welcome in leeds ges ment to be a leeds supporter yet hed rather go to leicester we dont want the scummy ideat

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Man, no wonder Leeds fans have a bad reputation when we have retards like you representing us. Yes he is the 'ideat' f***ing tard.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Bates won't pay the money then he won't come.. Leicester are looking like they are going to be a force this season and on the way back to prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think thats very harsh, if he goes out on loan (as suggested recently), he won't have much say in the matter City need to lower the wage bill to comply with the financial fair play rules... Leicester are willing to pay his wages in full, leeds want man city to pay a percentage of his wages (a la alan smith rumours). If man city want to cut money do you really think they will pay wages for a player out on loan, when they can just send him to a club who will pay it all & he will still get regular first team chances? I really doubt we will get him this season, but i don't think thats his fault at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Surprise, Surprise - Michael Johnson has signed for Leicester, another classic example of us not being able to compete with the clubs that mean business this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip. We don't even know that we made an offer so it's a bit of a leap to claim he chose foxes over us

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems that leicester are spending an awful lot of money this season. where will they be next year if they don't win promotion and the money that goes with it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha I bet those Leicester fans are so jealous of us. Their club keeps bringing in players while we do the sensible thing

They really wish they had sensible Ken in charge of their club. Well they can't have him, we are the lucky ones..

Well we are keeping him ...they can only dream of the executive boxes we have and the prices we pay as fans...

Agree0 Disagree0

love it when everyone says "another transfer that got away". how do people know any of these players have really been our targets, or if so whether we've actually wanted to bid for them in they end. your sources? cus when has anyone's sources every really been right on this page

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Made even more funny by the player hasnt signed for any1 else well said anyway mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Likely targets?? Just a thought, or who people think leeds should be after (quality wise).

What is happening with the 2 "rathergood midfielders"that BATES MENTIONED to be signing sometime this week.

Believable0 Unbelievable10

If u listened to the interview rather than looking through comments he was meeting up with agents this week in monaco ahead of a proposed move monday...

Agree0 Disagree0

He said he would be talking to the agents at the weekend, so if they sign it would be next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

He said he would be having a look at them on the weekend you person Its only Thursday

Agree0 Disagree0

He said he was talking to their agents mate - listen to what people say eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

You Bates haters must have a combined IQ of 14. I'm surprised you manage to remember your idiotic chant but then again it does only have two words

Agree0 Disagree0

OK smart arses, the point i'm getting at is next weeks a bit late for pre season team preparation, or do you all think a couple of players signing a few days before the SOUTHAMPTON game is ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

No signing this late in the day isn, t ok, the worst thing in all this is the lack of honesty that comes out of OUR club reguarding the state of investment , honestly i, m looking at the clubs in our league and in my opinion, albeit before a balls been kicked, where about tenth.sad man sad.

Agree0 Disagree0

So if we signed messi & iniesta but it was end of august it would be a bad deal would it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think signing someone a few days before the southampton game is a good idea, its a better idea than not signing someone? hello?? MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're not a Bates-hater then your IQ must be single-figures

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't realise we were signing messi and iniesta, good old uncle Ken I say

Agree0 Disagree0

Bulls**t bates is a conman so fu*k off bates no one wants u at leeds apart from tits that know nothing

Agree0 Disagree0

Why u licking bates ares sado
he done f all at leeds apart from rippping u and all fans off

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 11:31:57
can any one tell me why bates is spending 6-7 millions on the eaststand when he don t own elland road or is that another lie bates. time 2 go time 2 go bates out

Believable12 Unbelievable15

He's a respected business man who has a good history behind him when it comes to dealing with a football club. leave off bates and grayson they've done a fantastic job so far. give them a chance
clearly just the rantings of a stupid narrow minded little child.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's time for you to go and take the other idiotic Bates haters with you - why is it suddenly wrong to want to modernise our out of date east stand? What a pathetic attitude you have Leave our club alone and stop embarassing us with your divisive chanting at matches

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the view of the majority of leeds fans that captain birdseye is lining his own pockets at the expense of the loyal supporters. whats the point in having fantastice conference facilities if no one wants to use them because the team is second rate

Agree0 Disagree0

The view of the "majority" of Leeds fans, where exactly does this quantative, thorough research come from ?

The team is "second rate" is it, second rate compared to whom, the 17 teams who finished below us in the Championship last year ? Leicester who are spending money they can't afford ? The three teams with 10's of millions of parachute payments who at least one of them (Birmingham) are in danger of administration.

Grow up you idiot, all you are doing is showing staggering ignorance on a topic you clearly have no idea about.

You don't like what's happening, go and offer your "support" to a club that's not "second rate".

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds United FC, firmly believe that the business plan currently being acted on, will ensure the future of the club. The club are aware that supporters would prefer to see money spent on the playing side and not on building the club don't actually own. Leeds United FC are aware that the hotel and conference facility build under Ken Bates at Chelsea FC, has failed as a business venture and that the club would like to demolish the whole building for increased capacity for the stadium. Mr Bates owns the top floor of the Chelsea venture and therefore will always win in the end, as this is exactly what he intends to do with the Leeds United venture.

Agree0 Disagree0

How small minded can u get? Incresaed revenue streams = increased wage budget = attract better players in the future =Get into the prem = Bates can sell for more money. Get off your high horse and get behind our beloved Leeds fool. Not only that but Bates is an intelligent man, he knows as i know that in the not to distant future FIFA have hinted that football clubs expenditure (wages transfers etc) could be linked to Club revenue. So a hotel, covered arcade with shops, museum, underground night club and new club mega store? thankyou very much Mr Bates, i'll have some of that. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you really that stupid that you think the nex boxes and facilities won't be a success. i used to work in the commercial dept selling hospitality, boxes, sponsorship etc and there was effectively a waiting list for the boxes which are typically sold on a seasonal basis. they make serious amounts of cash, from the actually box itself then the booze too. its a great thing for the club as it also brings potential business to the club too through local businesses - for investment and sponsorship opportunities. no we have some facts, go back to sleep until you have something sensible and contstructive to say that you have thought of yourself, not just copied everyone else whingng like a spoilt brat

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates owns ER numpty, just like he was the owner of LUFC for so long god some leeds fans are really stupid

he also has bought TA 2 years ago to complete his control MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Half of the cash was funded & the other half was borrowed against the property via the agreement of the owner. Banks or investers WILL NOT loan money out if it is for players because there is no guarentee on a return from their investment - but there is guarentee on a return from bricks & morter. The development of the east stand will generate money to be spent on playing staff Why can't people see this Get your facts right before you start saying stupid things like you did in your post

Agree0 Disagree0

While I agree with the ideas expressed here, it's a bit strong to refer to fellow Leeds fans as 'idiots'. Bates has done a good job for us financially so far.
I would like to see us sign the defensive players we need. Loads of revenue in the bank and still playing Championship football next year would not be a great result.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ... I couldn't agree more. We have been burnt by 'overspending' before. One step at a time please... Consolidation first.. Even if it takes a few years.. Let's walk before we can run.. Leicester are trying to buy promotion and this doesn't always work.. Chelsea buy buy buy buy.. Underachieve really for the £££ they spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

BATES OUT is NOT the majority view of true Leeds supporters.

You say what you want, but don't claim to do it my (other peoples) name

Any one stating Bates has taken money OUT of the club, or Bates owns this or that or Bates will do this or that, just quote your sources and the facts......

I can't recall anything like this sort of hatred or stupidity aimed at Ridsdale when he was at leads, and look what that **ts((d did to the club?

We have a club this moving in the right direction and THANKFULLY got a good owner, a good manager are loyal TRUE supporters.

WE ARE LEEDS, but you obviously ain't, so go do one.....

Agree0 Disagree0

"Loads of revenue in the bank and still playing Championship football next year would not be a great result."

No money in the bank and playing League 1 football again would be an even WORSE result

EWhy do we need to bankrupt ourselves just to appease idiots that think we should buy every tom, person or harry just because Ipswich, West Ham, Leicester want them?

Those teams NEED players, we don't.....

Agree0 Disagree0

The clubs future is based on revenue. simple as that. new league rules. I support Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 11:13:38
Leicester have got michael Johnson from city that's one more crossed of our list looks like bates doesn't want £60 million for getting in the premier league with good players all going

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Wish people would stop saying that here's another we missed out on when it was all just paper talk

Agree0 Disagree0

It's £90 million for getting in the prem not £60 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where's this rumour come from .. nothing on foxes website .. someone been taking wiki as gospel again??

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnson is a sick note waiting to happen - look at his record on the bbc website: "Johnson has not played since October 2009 because of abdominal and cruciate ligament injuries and his last start was 13 months before that." Lucky escape.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 11:01:05
Micheal johnson has joined leicster on a season long loan thats another target we have missed out on again

Believable7 Unbelievable4

To have missed out on him we'd have to be in for him in the first place - how do you know if we were even interested or is this just another excuse to whine and winge about a cripple who we really don't want anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you keep re-posting this and other Bates hating drivel? Go away and leave our club alone

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 10:11:13

JOHNSON SIGNED FOR LEICESTER ANOTHER ONE WE WERE GETTING THAT GOT AWAY SIGNED 1 YEAR LOANED DEAL

Believable5 Unbelievable3

No he wasn't "another we were getting" the only info that came out of the club was that we had looked at him along with other targets

Agree0 Disagree0

This would be Ulrika Johnson, Leicester City's new personal assistant for their manager

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 09:21:17
dont think for a minute that we will get clingan, but believe the attacking mid we are after is ched evans, with monty into the bargain.

Hopefully we get shut of poor old billy paynter in the bargain, he's been shocking pre-season.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Is Ched Evans not a striker? He was at Man City and for Wales...

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2011 07:36:27
Is there anyone that Leicester aren't buying?? Let's hope they only look good on paper. Leeds united needs some investment no matter how small. Our youth were woeful at Bradford and our reserve strike force? As bad as our first team...........

Believable14 Unbelievable1

Forget Michael Johnson, I have it on good authority hes signing for Sven. Another one missed who would have been perfect once match fit.

We have heard it all before, but Smith IS arriving after 1st August. Uncle Ken wants to wait till then, to save a months wages.

Believable4 Unbelievable14

Won't he be put off if the majority have a go?

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop the smith rumors its a waste of time he is not coming back it will be all proven after the Newcastle game

Agree0 Disagree0

Won't he be put off if the majority have a go?- He made his bed he can lie in it

Agree0 Disagree0

We cant afford him, we dont want a player like him coming to the club if hes only interested in his unrealistic wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt it we'd still have to pay the extra month at the end of the season extra????? Some people

Leeds to sign Striker Ched Evans from the Bluts for 1m, with Paynter going other way as part of deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Blades are desperate to offload Evans from their wage bill, and our fans are desperate to see the back of Billy so your guess may be right.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have Evans Now that Lucs out and McCormack hasn't had the best pre season. I say give Grella another go, can't be any worst that paynter or McCormack.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ched Evans 22yrs old, amongst the clubs heĀ s played for man city, 6.0" tall striker, a discovery of football scout john reardon. three things against him 1, 1m too much for bates by 800,000, 2, SG does not seem to like youth much. 3, desperately need some solid defenders. otherwise a half decent prospect for the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Be surprised if we spend on anyone, let alone 1 million notes

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see this happening because of Evan's apparent value

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we pay £1 nevermind £1million for a the player, he is a young prospect who never made the grade.
Leave him at the Blunts and let them go into Administration cause they cannot get him off the wage bill I say
His price will drop by £250k each week until the transfer deadline day, Guaranteed.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person that said "Be surprised if we spend on anyone, let alone 1 million notes" NEWSFLASH WE SPENT MONEY ON LONERGAN

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person that said "To the person that said "Be surprised if we spend on anyone, let alone 1 million notes" NEWSFLASH WE SPENT MONEY ON LONERGAN"

NEWSFLASH it was undisclosed, so could mean a set amount after a set number of apearances or promotion, first choice on our players that go out on loan or even a couple of footballs and some yorkshire grass seed
