Is Rhodes a realistic target? Would be a fantastic signing. {Ed020's Note - not heard anything other than on here. but he'd fetch a fee of at least 4+ mill. not sure if we'd shell that out}

Believable3 Unbelievable14

4+ mil is daft, league 1 player, beckford was better and he wasnt worth nowhere near 4 mil, hard to see if a lower league striker can make it in a higher league, to be fair needs a good midfield to feed them, so let's start there

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford was worth 5mil but bates like a person let his contract run into January of his last season which then knocked the amount he was worth down as clubs knew that if we didn't accept there offer he would be available for free within the 6 months . everton let him go for 4 mil but that was good business as it was pure profit nearly. rhodes is well worth the money as hes better than billy sharp and he went to donny for around 3 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of the best higher league strikers came from lower leagues. that said, goal count isn't really the important factor, as they need the mental ability and consistency. paynter scored loads for swindon and we all know what happened there. on the other hand, look at grant holt, rickie lambert, peter crouch etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

We were in league 1 when we sold delph for about £5m with another £2m of add ons if I remember correctly. Just saying league 1 players can go for large fees. That said I think there is less money about now so I imagine a fee of £2.5- £3.5 is more realistic

I'm at the end of season dinner iv just over heard a conversation with snoddy and Lorimar expect him to leave he is not happy.

Believable6 Unbelievable24

Hes easily replaceable hopefully we will get a decent fee though

Agree0 Disagree0

After the performance against the fuxes today i wouldn't blame him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi I'm the original poster after a few drinks with mcormack kisnorbo etc I spoke to snoddy he said he has a year to run on his current deal and will be willing to stay 4 that.we had a chat and he said it would be hard to leave leeds but he would like pl football asap I wished him well so hopefully he will stay another year.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather he go this summer and we receive between 5 and 8 mil for him otherwise we wait until January and get a silly offer of 2 mil . the only way it would make sense keeping him until January would be if bates invested big in the squad bringing in some proper talent and giving us a good chance for a top 2 finish otherwise get rid now and use that money to claim our dreams.
m.o.t

Agree0 Disagree0

Players would never disclose this information.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't blame him really, I think he is waiting to see who we sign and where we are say Christmas. If we are near the top expect him to sign. However I do think he is slightly over rated.

Here is why I say that beckford left to play premiership football where is he now? Howson and Johnson are not good enough for premiership football week in week out next season you will see that.

So weighing it all up it would make sense to stay out be our captain and let's go up debt free third biggest city jn the country steeped in history or play at carrow road.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought a few players against foxes seemed off the pace ie Snoddy and Ross in particular , maybe because Ross told wont play everygame but Snoddy just wanted to moan at others for mistakes yet made plenty himself. In my opinion any player who doesnt want to play for Leeds can leave no matter who they are. Im not his biggest fan but there was a lad on the other team who showed what he thought of the Leeds fans only snag is if he came back we would keep hitting balls for him to change. Never seen Bamba before but thought he was awesome yesterday in DM and had pace and power , hope he comes. Warnock has publically told Snoddy he can go if we dont go up so surely he owes Leeds a fee for bringing him down and should sign on that basis. I also believe his lack of pace is a major problem for Prem football.

Believable21 Unbelievable14

Is this the Bamba that Marseille wanted to sign?

Its says on some portsmouth news team and on the portsmouth OS that Jason pearce wasnt in the squad because theirs a deal in place

"Pearce was left out of the team in today’s 2-0 loss at Forest as part of the terms of his move to Elland Road"

there might finally be some decent signings in the summer MOT

Believable27 Unbelievable2

Said this 3 weeks ago will be done by the 7th at a cost of 500k

Agree0 Disagree0

It's says nothing about elland road. Just that there is an agreement for him and another not to play due to moves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I suggest you read the extract again, leeds is mentioned

warnock better do a good job next year with his own players cos he hasn't done anything to amaze me yet apart from manage a team to concede seven and transform one of the best attacking teams to a team that has no invention what so ever. under grayson we cudn't defend but we scored alot of goals to make up for it. now we can't do either

Believable16 Unbelievable14

I agree pal he started well but thats just new manager syndrome i think with grayson still in charge i think we might have sneaked into the play offs. hope iam wrong and he brings his own players in and gets us up next year

Thought I'd post what I think could be a realistic & cheap, set of transfer targets.

GK's - Lonergan, Lewis
DR's - Halford, Hateley
DL's - Elokobi, McCartney
DC's - Mills, Lees, Pearce Bruce
MC's - Clayton, Clingan, Norris, McCann, Guthrie
Wingers - Snodgrass, Rogers, Hammill, Ephraim
ST's - Becchio, McCormack, Vardy, Somma

We may also see a surprise or 2 (Hargreaves, Buszaky, Kightly, Kuszczak, Rhodes)

Plus we'll see 1-2 long term loans. If we got anything like a squad like that for next year, i'd be delighted ! MOT

Believable7 Unbelievable16

Mills will be a long term loan if we do get him. very high wages and transfer fee involved.

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally think Warnock will offer Michael Brown a new deal.

I think he's that no nonsense midfielder that Warnock likes.

Also Lloyd Sam has apparently been a terrific player for Notts County, so he may give him a second chance.

jason pearce looks quite likely.
heard abit about paul green aswell.
what about craig gordon in sticks and kevin davies?

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Id also like to see craig gordon in net but heard he's been linked with celtic {Ed020's Note - quite heavily linked with cfc aswell!!!!! }

aidy white looks like he could be going, with intrest from the prem and he will be a free.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

If white goes we will get a fee because of his age, better letting him go

Agree0 Disagree0

No, we would be better trying to keep hold of a talent that we will get peanuts for in compensation..........

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll get 1.5 mil in compensation

Agree0 Disagree0

I say let him go and take the 1.5m. hes got potential but we dont want potential, we want good players NOW

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem with White is he cant defend properly and isnt the best crosser of the ball so isnt a left back and isnt a winger so what is he? We only love him because he came through the ranks and want him so badly to make it. The other major problem is he is injury prone like Ben Parker who we waited and waited for but never happened. Also if he wants to go then let him go and try and agree a fee with someone rather than compensation so we know what Warnock has to spend.

You nutters are at again already with ya transfer talk the season only finished a couple of hours ago get a grip and for the record i want diouf horrible git he is like leeds should be we all love leeds mot

Lonergan

Robinson
Pearce
Mills
Lees

Snoddy
Clayton
Bamba
McCormack

Becchio
Beckford

Subs: White, Bruce, Pugh, Diouf, Puncheon

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Tom lees isnt a right back and aidy white if he does stay isnt going to sit on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Its ok but wouldn't want robinson in my team hes a liability . if mccormack is off out wide i would rather he be in a 3 strike force .
lonergan

white
pearce
mills
lees

snoddy
clayton
rogers

diouf
becchio or (beckford if we do go get him)
mccormack

Agree0 Disagree0

We can do without Beckford, he is money orientated, not Leeds orientated...

.. sorry but you only sell your soul once, he is up for money, not up for the team that gave him his chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Beckfords actions yesterday said he wastn just about the money , whether we can afford him is a different matter though but if it was a possibility id rather have him than diouf , him and Ross either side of Becchio wouldnt be bad but may leave us light at the back. Id love to see us play with 3 centre backs , wing backs and 2 holding in midfield and the 3 up front. Im more concerened that people are leaving Lees out.

rumoour is we have four signings nailed on for next week Jason Pearce And Greg Halford left out today after agreement with leeds Matt Mills after he had another bust upwith pearson and paul green left out today due to agreement with leeds liking how are defence is gunna look next season Halford , Pearce , Mills , White

Believable15 Unbelievable9

We need another left back white is shocking he cant tackle

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst that would be a really good sign of our intent, I think it is more wishful thinking than actually going to happen,. Pearce reading from the various sources is definitely signing, but there are other parties interested in halford. Mills will cost a substantial amount (cost leicester appx £5m) so i personally dont see us having the finances to put in a bid of as much as £2m for a single player. Finally, to me, things have gone quiet on the paul green front, not really heard much about the links between him and us over the last few days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees is going to be one of our key players next season according to NW.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the extent of Warnock sorting our team out then God help us, we already have better players than most of these names....

matt mills shown round elland road this week and is goin to sign on the dotted line and you heard it hear first lads. mot4life

Believable18 Unbelievable9

Happy days, hope this rumour actually comes true. Mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this rumour is true but theres more chance of us resigning neill collins cos he's more in our price bracket. we must be the only team to use a salary cap

Leeds are set to sign 3 new players next week. Diouf, Pearce and Green. You heard it hear about 45th.

It has been reported on Portsmouth News website that Jason Pearce was left out of the squad today as part of his agreement with Leeds. Looks like this one is true

zak whitbread and jason pearce to be leeds uniteds first choice centre backs next year with lees, bruce and o'brien been the subs for the central defence posistions. also leeds must sign right back that has got real pace with connolly as cover cos he's steady but not good enough to start. also a left back again with pace is needed as attackers get in behind us too easily. like warnock says no pace anywhere in the team so that must change or it'll be another ordinary and frustrating season

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Expect to see o'brien to leave, however i agree Bruce is good and versatile enough to remain at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees will stick it out, nw already made this clear

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems to me like everybody is forgetting Aidy White he is very fast it was just warnock playing him in the wrong position

Agree0 Disagree0

White is shocking thats why hes not getting mentioned hes got pace but cant tackle so cant be a left back and cant cross so he cant be a left winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Whitbread is a bit of a sick note not what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

First choice cbs will be Pearce and Lees.

NW already said that Lees is going to be one of our key men next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Conolly is rubbish dnt want him as a sub are u mad

Agree0 Disagree0

Connolly isn't rubbish, he isn't great but but why waste money on two average right backs to compete when you can keep connolly as he is still under contract and then get one top right back. plus he is still only cover so probs wudn't play much anyway.it's just to save money and get 1 quality player in that posistion

Agree0 Disagree0

NW has said Lees has a part to play but think he also said wont play as many games , he is a young lad. Id keep Bruce and was suprised at how quick he actually is when he kept pace with Beckford. I have often thought that Bruce could actually play as a holding midfielder. Id keep Connelly as you have Lees as cover. Id love to try 3 CB's with Bruce and Lees either side of a commanding CB or with Bruce sweeping up.
White aint up to it and as said above cant tackle and cant cross, think he believes his own hype.

Last home game of the season, and we are getting battered on the park
Bar a few players (Snoddy,Clayton,Ross),they aint worth wearing the white shirt
Need a total clear out

Believable15 Unbelievable5

Clayton not even all that eva he started of well at beginning of the season but seems lost snoddy and mcormack are the only two worth keeping.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the hell did we get rid of kasper hes now the best keeper in the championship and likley to go to a premiership club for round 5 million and what did we get 1 million i dnt get it!we love to throw money away

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe we paid money for Danny Pugh he's garbage, hope he's nit on the retain list.

Agree0 Disagree0

No pride to wear the shirt, alot of these players will end up in lower leagues
Splash the cash Mr Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton is good, but he had to do everything in the middle of the park today, with Snods and Ross doing all the work up front.

Get a good cm to partner Clayton and you'll see a huge improvement. It's no coincidence that he's appeared much less effective since we sold Howson.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree pal lets hope warnock brings players in that wanna play for the shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

It has been the same story all season long are home form has been so poor the players dont seem to be able to play in front of big crowds

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe now bates should realise that getting promotion out of the championship requires more than a patched up squad he shafted grayson by underminding him and depleting the squad he had now he has warnock will he spend and stay quiet my personal feeling is its not goin to happen bates will interfere and will feel hes entitled too because its his club wat is it about us we never do things the right way we as fans deserve better, away support alone is fantastic we outsing most home crowds! after this season getting the hopes up will be hard we just want passion to be shown weve become a real soft touch at home f*** me 11 defeats at home squad needs overhauling?no s**t
