All the rumours about players coming from Cagliari is not true. Leeds won't be signing any of them on loan or permanently. Not looking at strikers and won't be signing any more than 5/6 players.

Kieren Westwood - Sunderland
Jack collison - out of contract
Loyd dyer - out of contract

They are 3 main targets.

kW will be number 1
JC is replacement of brown
Dyer to replace Kebe after loan
Taylor will understudy to Warnock.
Then it's a RB, CB and possibly midfielder depending if we can get rid of other players to free up wages:
White
Wootton
Zaliukas
Kenny
Norris

Hasn't Norris already gone?

This is in line with what I have heard. Our chief scout spent a week in Cagliari looking at youth and reserves as that was all that was available. When he said that they weren't good enough he was sidelined to join every other professional member of staff at the club. Not really sure who is running Leeds United at the moment (apart from MC) - but whoever is there is no money available. MC has already said he wants (needs) to cut the wage bill. Some of us need to stop living in denial. Our squad will be weaker than last season!

Agree0 Disagree3

Realty check. Look on the bright side
We might get relegated!

Agree1 Disagree3

Wage bill and other costs are being reduced to fall in line with FFP rule, not because we have no money.

The size of the wage bill is not a valid way of judging the strength of the squad (our current wage bill is larger than that of Cagliari without having the same strength, QPR wage bill is higher than that of Dortmund despite having anywhere near the same quality in their squad).

I don't expect big money to be spent, or 'big names' coming in but I do expect the money that is spent to be spent well. 3 or 4 sensible signings with the addition of utilising the youth players would give us a far stronger squad than last season. MOT

What pathetic posts, he's just sod Cagliari for a whack of money, money that will be spent on players, how much though is anybodys guess, to bang on about relegation is ridiculous, he's kept his old club in the top league for years, give the guy a chance, he's taken a massive job on at Leeds and I for one think he will succeed, so quit all the negative crap and see what happens, MOT.

I think you'll find that IF the sale of Cagliari goes through, Celino will get just 10 Million Euros upfront, the rest only coming if a new stadium is approved?

10 Million Euros won't come close to what Leeds have cost Celino just to pay the debts and wages off, let alone leave money to buy new players.

Celino quite rightly wants to stop this club (which is now his) losing money every day of the year. We are not negative people, just realists. We ALL hope Celino succeeds and takes us back to the top, but unless players are brought in we have to face the fact that our team was far too weak last season and has now been weakened further still with players being released.

We KNOW we need to buy players, but until we can make the club profitable again I cannot see Celino just throwing the proceeds of his 20 years hard work with Cagliari into the bottomless pot?

I agree we shouldn't be negative, given that for once we have an owner with resources, rather than one looking to just take money out of the club by whatever means possible.

Agree1 Disagree3

No he has not sold for a "Whack" of money, he has sold for about 7.5 million pounds ( initially ) with more to come later if stuff relating to "Stadium development" given green light.

Agree0 Disagree2

It is also worth recognizing that MC still owes GFH over £20M for the purchase of Leeds, with the first installment due soon. So the cash from the sale of Cagliari is already spoken for. Add to that the ongoing crippling costs of running the Club without income and you can see why MC is struggling.

Between MC and GFH I am sure that we are safe from administration. But the way the Club has been cut back, with staff and facilities thrown out, and no sight of decent signings, I just cannot see how or when we will move forward. Good players will not be attracted to a club with no training facility, low wages and an arrogant chairman who cuts short holidays on a whim.

MC said an awful lot before the sale went through. When the FL were persisting about him showing the money he said that it was a trifle - I will buy ER and TA the next day. Now suddenly it is much worse than he realised, TA is a luxury we cannot afford and he is 'not allowed' to buy ER. GFH may have lied to him, but I think that you will find he has also lied to us.

Agree0 Disagree1

Well said rhino, spot on, realityc is just a doom monger, never posts anything positive, he thinks he's in the know

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people keep linking westwood with us he is crap! ashdown is better than him

Agree0 Disagree0

Reality check
STOP being so boring & negative ALL the time, every post or comment I see your name on is doom & gloom.
If GFH were still in charge we would be in financial meltdown, our best players would be sold to raise money for loans they took out, we would be in admin NOW with points deducted for next season, dropping down a division would be nailed on, then PAPPA SMURF would buy us again by 2017.
Like it or lump it MC is ere, if you don't like what I've wrote I suggest you carry on with your negative comments and change your name to " Victor Meldrew "

Andy totally agree if they are offering 7.5 we could probably get 8-8.5 sell him with that we could buy almost a new team.

Agree1 Disagree1

don't need to sell so he ain't going anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't Have anything to offer any other players at the moment

Victor Ibarbo Has already said he wouldn't come to the championship there would be no point selling the leagues top striker without a suitable replacement willing to come to us

Rumours circulating with Avelar and Tabanelli being yet again linked with a move to Leeds after their failed moves in January, with Sebastian Eriksson also from Cagliari to follow.

Tommy Rowe is still a likely candidate for new additions this summer after leaving p'bough.

Leeds also interested in Matthew Leckie, Aussie winger/striker based in Germany and Agard from Rotherham also in the frame.

Unnamed keeper linked although many suggestions it's likely Westwood

He waa going to buy the stadium before he realised how deep in muck out club was under the joke owners before him. keep yhe faith. He is going the round way around the mess of the club with sorting the finances first. financial fair play would kill us a year down the line if this wasnt being sorted MOT!

Agree2 Disagree1

I'm sure I read something about the rent for ER being an annual thing and it is paid up until November or something so buying ER now would be wasting rent that has already been paid.

Avelar, Erickson and Westwood yes please, as for agard and co. No thanks

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't think any of them would do us any bad, though Leckie has already agreed to join FC Ingolstadt 04 in July so that's a none starter.
As far as I can tell it was Gomes we tried to get (thank god he went to Watford instead) but Westwood would be a really good shout, Never got enough first team at Sunderland to get match sharp and into some rhythm. Other domestic option might be Schwarzer as a few champ clubs looked at him before he went to Chelski, old but still pretty solid, might work as a stop gap if we bring a young keeper in too.
Agard 26 goals in 54 games last season as a winger, ok lower league but him and Ibarbo (assuming we really are trying to sign him) up front with Rosco could be lethal

Agree2 Disagree0

I always rated westwood
