Alex Mowatt heavily linked with a move to Barnsley in the last few hours, apparently the approach has been made by Barnsley but no club statement to say whether it's a permanent or a loan?

I'd assume loan with a view to permanent as it can be done faster with deadline approaching. It's with a heavy heart I say it's the best thing for all involved. I don't think Mowatt will improve to a point of where we are looking to be, that's not to say he's not a good player but not good enough or consistent enough for where we are trying to get to now.

He could go for me. Showed great promise then never lived up to his potential.

I think we have better players in Mowatt's position now - loan would be good to see if he can improve further but otherwise I think Mowatt will struggle to get game time.

Swap for the winger who put transfer request in would be good.

I think with Alex it purely comes down to a lack of pace. Creativity and work rate have always been (for the most part) constant but unfortunately it comes down to genetics. Some of us are made quick and some of us feel like we're running in treacle. As a back up player i'm happy to have him for for the best of his career I will wish him well should he choose to move on.

It's just about done - the signing of Jansson or so we are led to believe. This is only a job half done as far as the back four are concerned (Not talking about back- ups here. The signing of Kyle Bartley is just as important. Centre back pairings are the heart of the team. Jansson and Bartley complement each other perfectly.

You never know how effective Jansson would look, however, without Bartley and vice versa. Jannson and Cooper is not that inspiring and whoever else was brought, if we didn't keep Bartley, might not be as effective as what we have. This assessment might change if we were promoted but they do look as if they could cope at a higher level.

Ayling, Bartley, jansson, Taylor would all be able to step up to the premiership imo.

weve seen how effective Bartley is without Pontus a few times this season - not as.

Bark signing a must in my book, think we also need another body as cover for injuries and cards.

agree hess pontus has become a cult hero and speedy pin up and rightly so however bartley very important. if we went up i think our back four would be good enough to keep us up

Ayling was signed in full and not on loan swaddled.

Never said he was signed on loan lol just said the main 4 at the back are all good enough for the premiership imo.

Agree with all you guys that the back 4 would be strong in the PL we would need to strengthen final 3rd that's all, for us to compete IMO exciting times at the moment 😎.

bartley is an important signing but he doesn't have an agreed deal in his contract so will not be signed this window.
