When takeover is FINALLY completed. Diouf will be given a new 18 month contract till the end of next season.

NW is impressed with how he started his life in Leeds on and off the field.

One thing for sure, Diouf was immense tonight. I was one of the 'don't want players like him at our club' brigade, but his performances throughout the season have changed my mind, with tonights hammering the final nail in the coffin of my doubt.
By the way, who says Leeds are a hoof ball team, didn't see much evidence of that tonight.
Wish I could have gone tonight, shame on the stay away 'fans'

Well lets have it right, on the last 2 streamed games ive watched, diouf has stood out like a sore thumb to me.
All credit to the kid, he's proved us all wrong by showing he can play, knows what side his breads buttered when rivals give him stick by blowing kisses basically giving 2 finger salutes in the politest way legal and applauding leeds fans for there support.
Well done Diouf, keep up the good work

Agree5 Disagree0

He played amazing tonight well done fella keep it up if he continues need to gi
ve him a 2 year contract
mot .

Was brilliant last night, you can see what an experienced pro he is, kept his cool when stamped on and near the end wound the clock down in the corners and won free kicks to snuff out evertons momentum. Brilliant!

Ddddddddiiiiiiiiiooooooooooooffffffffffffffffffffff

I didnt like him before but now i think tht him becchio and mCcormack would work great together up front. well done guys keep it up next time round

Well after the week the players have just had looks like the takeover won't be done for another month or two, bates is bound to want another 10mil on top of the price now after those performances! ;-)

Believable15 Unbelievable35

This wouldn't surprise me whatsoever

Agree0 Disagree0

Or, another take, the new perspective owners better get their finger out BEFORE bates decides that promotion is on the agenda, AND ASKS for another 10 mill !! Just to add... Very proud of the boys tonight's... Can't believe we did it without a sub..... Thought 60 mins out of some of them would the most we would get !!! Brown, Pugh, and Tonge have certainly gone up in my estimations.... MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Pugh & brown did not surprize me with their performance. they played their first game to impress warnock and/or potential new clubs. they are not part of warnocks long term plans and they must know that by the contracts they have/transfer listed. they will be ok as cover/bench but not play week in/week out. excellent team performance, but premier footy is very different from the championship footy. time/speed on ball & space created etc etc etc.
their game suited ours, more than the other way around.

Agree0 Disagree0

I knew tonge had been a player in the past but with him not getting s game hardly for stoke I thought he'd lost it a bit but the magical powers of Neil does something to players who play for him. {Ed013's Note - Neil loves his Brown Tonge!}

Not to alarm anybody but I've received my second text of the day saying Warnock has told the club that unless this takeover is sorted by he the next international break, he is going.

Could be rubbish, but could be right. I guess we'll see.

Believable8 Unbelievable57

So where has this bit of rubbish come from. Are you sure not on the LUST board trying to **** up the takeover AGAIN.We all know things with KB always take time and are hard work out,Anyone not in the know should shut the **** up and let them get on with it.

Agree2 Disagree0

Unless keen gets sacked and is offered the blackburn job or a club near the top he aint going nowhere wether its next international break or what

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely people have better things to do than make up fake texts to get attention?

Agree1 Disagree0

Warnock will be here all this season & I hope next season he is one of the best managers around.

I pick out your key words... Could be rubbish, but could be right. I guess we'll see.

I got two text messages from Doms pizza for a two for Tuesday day. Doesn't mean I'm getting a pizza

Did this 2nd text come in just as the 2nd goal went in tonight??
Are you a disgruntled Everton fan??

Blimey your so popular I only got 1 today oh god what shall I do??
So who are you supposed to be?
Wingy Mk Leeds for life ....MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen to Neil warnocks post match interview. He's enjoying himself. He's loving every minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless those 2 texts were from Neil Warnock i would not take the slightest bit of notice from them .

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here.

I am fairly surprised by how happy people seem to think Warnock is. Last night was great, no-one is arguing with that. But remember that we're talking about a man who was promised funds and investment, and a competitive squad. Listen to his interviews up to the Forest game. He isn't pleased at all. A couple more injuries and he'll be moaning again, and since there is precisely 0 to spend on loans, we'll be in trouble.

Dont get carried away by one excellent result. Warnock wants the promises made to him honoured.

Agree1 Disagree0

Apart from qpr job warnock has been promised and denied funds in every job he has been in, y do u think we went for him! That man can complain about an orange not being orange enough for him that's y sometimes he's better to watch than the actual game! Again apart from qpr he's had to fight tooth and nail for every last penny and I think secretly loves it

funny that he may be but as ken bates said on sat, he has to meet there chairman first and he is not about due to family reasons.

Agree1 Disagree0

Didnt he tweet he was meeting Chris Moyles today? {Ed013's Note - They are just watching the game together}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he wants to meet THEIR (correct usuage )chairman. Dr Al Mutawa. I think he is some royalty in someway or another in Bahrain

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you'll find esam yousif janahi is the chairman.

Agree1 Disagree0

And seeing as we are dealing with GFH Capital not their parent company I think you'll find thr Dr Al Mutawa is their chairman. Esam Yusif is the Chairman in ad advisory role at Gulf Finance House. Al Mutawa is the vice chairman at GFH AND chairman of GFH Capital

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you will find GFH are just the advisors to the investors and not the actual investors

People worrying about GFH Capitals finance... This company are only a small subsidery of a much larger company Gulf Finance House. (The Bank In Question In Bates's Program Notes) This larger company make significant profits. Subsideries sometimes make a loss and in most cases are designed to do so mostly for tax reasons as the main companies losses can be spread among these subsideries so profit among the main company seems less to avoid step ups in tax rates that larger profit equate to. So no worries if you look at the company as a whole they are in great financial condition (in the multiple billions revenue every year).

I believe this takeover by GFH seems to be just to appease Mr Haigh (a life long Leeds supported and GFH Capital CEO) which the larger company will happily fund as the money being shopped around for the value of Leeds seems small fry for this company as a whole, and is propably being spearheaded by Mr Haigh himself as a life long pet project. So it looks like we could be in good hands!!

Believable51 Unbelievable5

I suspected this also. GFH Capital and GFH as a whole don't seam like the football club buying sort of company. I wonder if this is also seen as European showcase kind of acquisition. Whereby GFH Capital wish to increase their profile and what better way to do that than with a global franchise like Leeds United, especially if they get us into the PL.

Whatever the deal or reasons for the deal are, it's a hell of a lot more positive than 9 months ago. When all seemed to be lost.

David Haigh seems like a top bloke as well. Born in Leeds, raised in Cornwall unfortunately and is CEO of a private equity firm. Sounds like good hands to me. -DB

Agree3 Disagree0

Maybe they see Leeds as a potential subsidary to hide more losses?

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with the 1st and 2nd posters. Good thoughts there

3rd poster. They wouldn't buy Leeds for a reported 50million, a business in a very public eye to hide a financial loss. Doesn't work like that

Crnd

Agree3 Disagree1

If you listen to Ken Bates interview he says the chairman pulled for personal reasons but will be on his way soon. My guess us that Mr Haigh will be like Daniel Levy is at Spurs

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it that GFH and/or GFH Capital can place a pea under one of three beakers and start moving 'em around and put assets here and there and all is perfectly well and legal and none of the "illiterate ignorant minority" say " We don't want that sort of shenanigans at our club?"
Yet, when old Norman does it he is ostracised and slandered a crook, why is this?
I am sure that GFH/GFH capital will move their capital from one continent to the other in order to pay as little tax as is possible to get away with. They are duty bound to maximise their investment returns for their respective clients/shareholders/owners.
Will the same "Bates out mob" be making the same salacious ungrounded, unfounded accusations to GFH/GFH Capital? These new investors/partners/owners will squeeze the beer swillers, and burger munchers just as much if not more than old Norman has ever done.
Just my musings as I wait tonight's clash with the Toffees.

Agree0 Disagree0

From the site Gulf Finance look to be worth just under 2 billion. Dont forget there is supposed to be another backer. It may be GFH are partly funding and partly project managing. Might not have Man City money but it should make us more competative. I am sure given the resources Neil Warnock will give us a side to be proud of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good point Jedburgh. I've actually defended bates offshore usage on here. It's just good business at times to limit your business to stupidly high uk tax.

Good post. It's called making tax elections. Can save the company millions. I think LUFC are about to begin a great chapter. The PL beckons.
