Alan smith to sign as a freebie trust me i;ve spoken to his dad today

Believable7 Unbelievable21

I thought the school holidays were over you idiot!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can he play Centre back? We do not need another midfield player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure I've just seen you on the Comedy Channel

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we need him, what can he offer Leeds. We can score goals but we can fill the holes at back. A 3-3 game is entertaining for the fans but a 1-0 win is where it counts.

Agree0 Disagree0

No thank you.

money grabbing past it? nah, theres plenty of them out there and leeds utd are not interested.

Newcastle, Stoke and West Brom have been watching Leeds' Adam Clayton. The clubs have been monitoring the Leeds midfielder's progress after his fine start to the season.

Leeds, Southampton and Brighton are battling it out to sign experienced defender, Danny Shittu from Queen's Park Rangers. The Nigerian is out of favour at Loftus road.

Believable11 Unbelievable11

He'd fit right in... because our defence is "s**t too"

Agree0 Disagree0

Would'nt it be ironic if-
David Villa played for Aston Villa
Antonio Valencia played for Valencia
and Danny Shittu played for Man Utd!?

Alex Bruce is set to leave on loan until January to Doncaster Rovers with the option to make the move permanent when the transfer window reopens. Bruce has been told that he does not have a future at Elland Road.

Believable35 Unbelievable5

He can give his hart to leeds agen and yes he can play defence

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasnt had a look in yet this year . cant be any worse than the players who have played - odear paddy o brien etc. give him a chance then if he is poor send him to donny

hope we sign killgalon with him and bruce at cb we will be ok what do you think?

Believable29 Unbelievable9

I think thats abosolutely dire. League 1 or 2 maybe but not this division

Agree0 Disagree0

O'dea is fine bruce will never play for us again he's clearly fallen out with grayson

Agree0 Disagree0

Bruce's good performances for us can be counted on one finger - Arsenal at the Emirates. Maybe those calling for his return are just armchair fans....

Agree0 Disagree0

Bruce is injured anyway so no chance hes starting

According to Duncan Castles' twitter account, Leeds are trying to sign a Premier League left back on loan (with Pugh playing midfield). Any idea who this could be Ed? {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard of any attempt to sign a left back from the Prem sorry, but I have been a bit out of touch over the last few days with work.}

Believable1 Unbelievable16

Why A left back, Although we are short across the whole of the back four if its a choice Right back is more urgent. Pugh and white can fill in better on the left than anything we have on the right.

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be wayne bridge he is out of favour at city

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need a left back when Aidy White's playing so well? We need a RB and maybe a CB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could it be Bertrand we heard about ages ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets hope its an unfounded rumour, If we did sign another LB instead of a RB and CB then it will finally be proof that our management dont have a clue what they are doing. Keep Aidy and Pugh together on LHS, maybe give Pugh a go at LB against Pompey and let Aidy cause problems for them with his pace on left wing

Agree0 Disagree0

So obvious it's a right back we need not a left back?! Not too sure who we could get on loan though

I think the left back in question is the youngster from Liverpool, Jack Robinson?

We are in talks with Sol Cambel's agent!

Believable9 Unbelievable37

Where have you heard this rumour? Any truth Ed? {Ed001's Note - I am not sure, his agent has spoken to a lot of Championship clubs, but there are a lot of players in the same agency and there is no saying it is Campbell being discussed. There are a lot of free agents being touted, but it is certainly possible.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Better him than Sol Campbell!

hughes, ancelotti, oleary, oneil all out of jobs all of which are better defensive managers than SG....sorry larry but i think ur time is up

Believable21 Unbelievable26

Rubbish..but get george Graham in coaching the back 4... And purchasing a back 4 for simon if necessary!

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of you guys seem to think we are still a big club and that we can still attract top managers!! with the money bates will pay you have more chance of pissing on the moon than getting any of these names in,your living in a fantasy world!! i would like to see someone like billy davies or aidy boothroyd but again money is an issue,MOT FOR LIFE!

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson is ok I don't think he is the best in this league I dont think he s the be all and end all by any stretch of the imagination. But what makes you think Anceloti/Oleary/or Oneil would come anywhere near Leeds while ever Bates is at our club not a chance. Also what makes you think Bates would pay any one of these what they are worth. Graysons is here because he was cheap and would take the s**t of Bates and work withing the financial restraints imposed on him and would also defend it without to much fuss when Bates has had enough of kicking him in the ball and making him look a cout he will discard him like something he as just brought in on the bottom of hes shoe. And will find another mug to take the flak at ER.And it will not be any of the above as they are not the scape gout type and will not stand back and say nothing. In other worlds not Bates type of manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes - I can see all of those managers being desperate to come to a mid-table 2nd division club with no money to spend. Grow up, moron, SG's a good manager with a limited budget at a club with 15,000 empty seats every week. Go to the games, get behind the team. MOT!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am forced to respond define a big club to the second post? Oh that right third biggest city in the country one city club and the first modern day super team, like Leicester? Sven.

And to the first post get real I agree with all but one name, O Leary who I might add bought six strikers and we had one right back who could not defend hmm Hatre oh and he spent 150.000.000 doing so on players and wages no other club would pay that why we are doing it right this time ya moron. Financial fair play kicks in next season we will be the only club who ca get over 34.000 at home the only club who sell all away tickets and when were back and have 100.000.000 to spend and not owe it let's see if we are slagging off bate then

Agree0 Disagree0

These are high profile managers, who will either be at the international level, or in the premier league. we have grayson, stick with him! he got us out of league 1 and will get us out of the championship, all he needs is for bates to open his wallet! MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

Total rubbish - get behing Larry and the team as not one off those managers would come to Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Ffs get real apart from oneill the rest of these managers have only been managing with money to spend(yes we were a rich club once with oleary) grayson has done a good job wherever hes been on limited funds he knew the story when he came in yes the amount of goals shipped is brutal and it is not just we who are pissed

Agree0 Disagree0

Are pissed off its the players and the managment also they defended really well for 45 mins against brighton then collapsed thats not all down to managment its down to the players too whoevers there to show courage and leadership lack of decent defenders is a problem also no team is goin to loan you out their best replacment defenders so what are u left with

Agree0 Disagree0

If the players dont do what they are supposed to do on the pitch week in week out thats the managements fault end of story. If the manager cant get a team to defend properly week in week out then he is not a manager. Grayson is not a terrible manager but not a great one either. All the teams who got promoted last season had one thing in common they conceded few goals per game. Every now and then a team who concedes alot of goals gets promoted but generally they come straight back down. Even if we do ever perform the miracle of being promoted this season or next while conceding alot of goals we will be relegated the next season. Its not just about getting to the premier league its about staying in it, thats why i dont think he's the man to take us forward into the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

What does the size of Leeds as a city have to do with anything? Or the fact that there is only one team in the city? Or the fact that we won a few things in the past? Leeds United is a mid table team in the second tier with no realistic prospect of attracting managers of the calibre described by the dreamer/idiot who posted this.

We are no longer a big club in any real sense other than between the ears of a few deluded fans.

I've seen us win three titles, I doubt that many of those posting this drivel are old enough to have seen us win one. It's disappointing to those of us who have first hand memories of the glory days but the fact is that RIGHT NOW we are not an attractive club to a big-name manager. Leicester may be a much smaller city with a club with less history but they had serious MONEY to pay Eriksson and recruit players. By the standards of club owners Bates isn't that wealthy.

Grayson is a good manager with a proven track record and knows the score. He's a defender himself and I suspect he's as frustrated with what he has to work with as any fan and a lot more knowledgeable.

We can't afford a better manager so get behind the one we have and stop whining.

Many of the fans on this site need to get a grip on reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds is the six biggest city in the uk fact!! not the 3rd as i read before, fact is grayson wanted the leeds job, when no one else wanted it, the job should be his until he wants out. if he had the money that all those manger listed above had, we would be the top league again, we could have kept beckford and fab, as to be fair the others where not that great as players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ancelotti - wages, oneil - wages (and probably going to leicester when they get sick of sven), and davies? really? a guy who was annoyed with Forest board for no funds and you think he wouldnt do the same here?

Agree0 Disagree0

There are planty of high profile managers in the championship...sven, big sam etc so it could be possible although unlikely

Agree0 Disagree0

The last UK census put Leeds as the 3rd biggest city after London and Birmingham with a population of around 720,00. The 2009 estimate is 787,700.

I don't understand where 6th comes from, probably some deluded people over the Pennines who are confusing the city of Manchester (400k) with the Greater Manchester region (2.5m) and still expect the Titanic to be departing from the busy port of Liverpool some time soon.

Perhaps some people don't know how to use the internet to do some quick research - too busy inventing rumours on here...

You'll find the data on the Office for National Statistics site.

Nothing to do with the Mighty Whites but I though it would be nice to see a few facts on here for a change :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ancelotti and hughes? Don't be silly. O'neil? Not after he was messed about by us before and O'Leary? Well we can only hope but it'll never happen

Agree0 Disagree0

All larry needs is 1M to spend on a defender or 2 and we are there, no other manager, unless they had contacts with a big top 4 club and could bring in loan defenders of real quality could seal our leaky defence on our budget, i just can't see it, we could always do notts florest and play with a back 5 to keep the door shut, but their play was boring, still if it keeps a clean sheet, why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

Start getting behind the team and support the manger and his players, your probibly the sort of vermin that will be singing his praises as soon as we go on a decent run! Cretin!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he might need to leave and we need to bring in an experienced manager such as aidy boothroyd

Agree0 Disagree0

Aidy Boothroyd? Simon Grayson is more experienced than Aidy Boothroyd.... If you're gonna throw names around make it semi-decent ones. I too think Grayson has done a good job but it won't stop Grandpa Ken getting shot of him if we don't reach the play-offs this year.

Replacement managers: Mark Hughes, Gordon Strachan, Walter Smith, Chris Coleman or Alan Curbishley but any of these will only happen if we fail to reach the play-offs

M.duberry is better than our back 4 at the moment. I think it time we have a change of defensive coach or first team coach as the defence is bad and players are not doing what they should be doing when on the pitch.
