Bm chatting to tommy smith of Cardiff

Believable5 Unbelievable51

Please tell me this is not true more unwanted players from the premierleague.

Agree3 Disagree0

No thank you, hopeless

Agree2 Disagree0

Hard to please LUFC fans 4 weeks ago they were shouting for Kevin Phillips x-premier league?

Agree0 Disagree2

I trust BMC decisions, he knows what is needed to get out of this league defo willing to give him and his signings a chance including Stewart and kebe. Matt smith has done a job so far be a good player next season and only young. Bought the best out of Pearce. Tommy smith might be what we need! His experience in this division could be vital!

Agree1 Disagree2

Not going to happen the striker mcdermott wants is matty fryatt from hull he will join on loan until end of the season then we will sign him permanently in the summer when his contract runs out

Agree0 Disagree1

Well the Fryatt thing isn't true because Wickham's signed. And Andy's right, fans complain when we sign Premiership fringe players and Championship regulars. Are some fans really expecting us to sign Premiership regulars? It's just not possible now

Agree2 Disagree0

Looks like he got his main target instead financially cost more but what a great signing to add to the team feel ross might be dropping back a bit though at least there's some quality up front for him to feed though great signing

Cellinos boat seized by Italian authorities re a £400,000 tax evasion case to be heard on 18th March. This is seperate from his embezelment case and the hearing is one day after our winding up petition hearing. All doom and gloom folks - no wonder F League aren't saying yes at the moment.

Believable14 Unbelievable56

25 Feb 2014 19:52:13
This is not true at all, I'm a county court bailiff and in European law no goods can not be seized until a court case has been heard and a court order issued . Why on earth would someone write a story unless it was just to winde us leeds fans up. We are suffering enough.

Why say unbelievable when the article here proves it?

The league's "owners and directors test", formerly the "fit and proper persons test", bars people from owning a substantial stake in a club if they have "unspent convictions" including "for offences of dishonesty".

Cellino spent 16 days in custody last year and then sometime from Jan/ Feb unitil May under some sort of house arrest for "income tax irregularities". Found this on the net from post about his boat being siezed.

Is FL just been thorough given their history of NOT protecting british clubs from all talk and no dosh wanna-be owners. I'm sure he has money to back up his intentions, hopefully, but I'm pleased FL are having a good look to be sure. And FL are releasing statements so we know what the hold up is or at who's door it lies at.

Think the FL should be more specific and up front if their issue lies with Cellino past or ongoing outstanding legal business.

Who knows, not me, just wish takeover was done with Cellino given stamp of being 'cosher' - excuse spelling.

Agree1 Disagree0

That story is dead in the water!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates evaded tax didn't he, cellino hasn't done any worse than him, great fl checking him out, but how naughty has he been and would it really affect the future running of our club?

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would Celino 'evade' £400,000 tax and spend well over a million pound on Leeds wages last month? Are you sure you mean 'evade' and not 'avoid' as the two words are totally different?

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2014 06:02:49
Suggest you look up the definition of evade and the answer comes back as 'to avoid' - they mean the same thing. Those who have put they don't believe this story haven't seen the italian press reports and the boat has been impounded before the court hearing on March 18th. Clearly Cellino has questions to answer and the Italian tax don't trust him from his previous convictions.

Agree0 Disagree0

Evaded means to avoid, or dodge as in (400,000 pound tax 'evasion').

Agree0 Disagree0

NOT even going to hit the link to the above article.
If Cellinos worth billions, if like he said he will buy E-R the day after he gets clearance.
WHY oh WHY would he risk this venture for our beloved club for a paltry 400k tax evation?

Andy MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The 400k is the import tax on the boat itself, hence why it has been seized. He has to pay the tax plus 165k fine to get it released. His lawyers claim he wasn't aware that it would incur import duty. looks more like an oversight than tax evasion.

This has nothing to do with the FL decision, neither does his previous record as it is 'spent' under UK law. His impending embezzlement case can't be held against him either as he not (yet at least) been found guilty of anything.

FL statement is pretty clear, they are still waiting for documents from both Cellino and GFH.

Agree0 Disagree0

For a full acquittal, however, was argued in a long and passionate language from defender John Cocco: according to his attorney, Cellino, is not representative of American society, could use the boat thanks to a contract signed and formalized. For lawyer Cocco: charges do not prove fraudulent intent of his client, on the contrary, he complied with the rules in force between the United States and Italy. Cellino - argues the prosecutor's office - he would have bought the sail boat in the U.S., travelling then to Italy with a tourist permit, but later reiterated the position in front of the IRS in Le pore. Now the judge will have to decide who is right and pronounce the judgement scheduled for March 18, at 9 am, at the opening of the hearing. this is nothing in real terms, he goes in front of the magistrate in march and it gets sorted, hardly an international bad guy. stop drama queening. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct. This is about import duty. The boat was purchased in the USA and brought to Italy on a visit with the intention of returning to the USA where Celinio actually resides. Typical Italian crazy justice. Would you feel aggrieved by this. No wonder he refused to pay. The Fl should not be interested in this at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Cellino wants the club so badly why doesn't he sign the company that's buying us over to his eldest son who I guess is whiter than white . Then if he still wants his name above the door he can try to take it over once the deal is done . Feel free to disagree as I know nothing about the business world

Agree0 Disagree0

I will in accounts and can confirm that tax evasion and tax avoidance are 2 separate things. Avoidance is frowned upon, evasion is illegal

Agree0 Disagree0

Folk; As a European citizen; if you buy any boat anywhere in the world and sail it home, you are importing goods to the EU. As such, VAT must be paid to level required by that country. On arrival, customs officials will ask to see a VAT receipt for purchase of the boat (you should probably declare it in the first instance). If you have not paid VAT then you will be asked to do so, which will be a particular percentage. Where boats are concerned, this is often under a reduced rate (given they are pretty expensive items).
If you do not pay the VAT on your purchase, you will end up in court.
Yes, the boat will be seized by customs officials prior to the court case as, until the VAT has been paid (not import duty), the boat should remain in 'bonded' status prior to being deemed a commodity in free circulation.
EU VAT laws are a pain in the posterior and Cellino was quite possibly just chancing his arm and hoping nobody noticed the big shiny new boat in the harbour. But then, he would then have to try and re-register it, at which point, the authorities would ask to see. you guessed it; a VAT receipt.

Agree0 Disagree0

In the dictionary they both still say avoiding dodging escaping cleverness or trickery, same, basically doing all they can to avoid paying tax!

Outside chance of Vydra coming on loan as the striker.

1. Not playing much at W Brom

2. Has played and done well at this level

3. BM signs players we don't expect

4. Italian, Cellino might have had a word

Believable6 Unbelievable35

The way our luck is going more like signing Viagra.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2014 19:10:06
Great plan! But he did score their equaliser last weekend and he is Czech not Italian!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you think Vydra is Italian? He played for Udinese that's it. Do you think Ross McCormack is English. Viduka was also the best Leeds player to never win an England cap.

Doubt we would get him. he's owned by Udinese, their owners also own Watford as we know. If they wanted him to go back to the Championship theyd send him to Watford.

Hes Czech by the way.

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope can't loan from abroad.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a ridiculous rumour, Vydra is Czech not Italian and he is on loan AT West Brom so unless he's recalled by Udinese he can't go out on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

At least he will rise to the occasion

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Feb 2014 20:04:08
Cant loan from abroad? I know west bromich Albion sounds a bit continental but come on!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its an abroad loan because he's owned by Udinese not WBA!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2014 21:38:25
Doesnt count as an international loan if wba allow him to go on an emergency loan to another English club

Agree0 Disagree0

I meant Italian as in from their (Udinese) he is indeed Czech. Should have made myself clearer

Agree0 Disagree0

I meant you can't loan from abroad in emergancy loan window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sniffer72 viagra?

Would that not be HARD to sign!!

Andy MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

'Doesnt count as an international loan if wba allow him to go on an emergency loan to another English club'. WBA can't loan him out as he's not their player, you can't loan a player out if they are not registered to you!

The Football League is still in discussions with both current Leeds United owners GFH Capital and prospective owner Massimo Cellino, a statement released this afternoon said.

It was confirmed earlier this month that GFH had agreed to sell 75% of the club to Eleonara Sport, owned by Italian Cellino.

The transaction has to be ratified by the Football League and their statement today suggested that they could be some way off making a decision on whether 57-year-old Cellino was appropriate to run the club.

"The Football League remains in discussions with both the owners and proposed purchasers of Leeds United, regarding the planned change of ownership, " read the statement.

"To date, a significant amount of the requested information has been supplied by GFH and Eleonora Sport, but there are still a number of outstanding matters that will require further submissions from the two parties. There is also the realistic prospect of there being further questions arising out of these submissions that they will be required to answer.

"The board of the Football League is next scheduled to meet on March 13 where it will receive an update on the matter from the League's executive, unless all the remaining issues can be resolved satisfactorily in advance of this date."

this IS going to drag on and on, and cellino is paying the players wages GFH are skint. MOT

. If I was Cellino I would’nt bother wasting my money anymore. It’s over. And put us all out of our misery 11 years of being shafted.!

Football league have stated today that they are still in discussions about Leeds ownership and mymay not have an answer until 13th March! How long is this going to last? I thought GFH took a while to complete their deal but this is ridiculous

Believable17 Unbelievable6

As i've said in previous posts, the football league will put off, put off and put off again giving cellino approval for this takeover untill they have a reason to refuse him (ie, he gets found guilty of embezzlement), or he gets fed up waiting and buys a club somewhere else in europe. This is as they know when he gets control of leeds, we'll be back with the big boys and that is the last thing they want, at the moment the have us just where they want us. They hate leeds utd, always have and always will. What we need to do is protest against the league and not cellino and I include lust in that, let's tell them all leeds utd fans are fed up of them shafting our club

Agree2 Disagree0

Its amazing how people get info twisted and go off on one on this site, fl meeting (as scheduled) has nothing to do with us, if its sorted before then then itll be done we don't need to wait till that date.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Feb 2014 12:09:22
Why was Chris Farnell barred from entering the Boro ground at the weekend?allegedly.
Is he still Massimo's lawyer?
I'm not sure.
I've asked again this morning about FL approval but still not confirmed.
So BMD says he's after a striker.
I keep saying
A keeper
A striker
A central midfielder
Nobody listens

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Pardon?

Agree1 Disagree1

Mate give it it a rest you know no more than any of us so take a rest from the soap box unless you have definitive news please.

Dougie

Agree1 Disagree1

We all know he wants a keeper striker and creative mid. How do we know this? Because he signed a keeper. Is currently talking to a striker. Has publicly stated needs creativity.

Survivor and his ego trip strikes again. Thanks for asking for an FL update. Just as likely to give you info as they are if I ring.

Crmd

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't know why I'm even rising but as far as I'd read a firm in Miami were now dealing with the legal side of things after the BMcD debacle, nobody listens because you chat shiz I'm surprised you've not mentioned the fl statement yet that you've apparently asked for that Phil Hay and Adam Pope have posted half an hour ago.

Agree0 Disagree1

Why are you still trying to make us feel you know things just let it unfold instead of making these stupid statements, M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree1

Everybody listened when you said the takeover was to be completed yesterday and that you were chilling with cellino and look what that's got them. You're a bona fide fraud and no more in the know that anyone else, which you have proven by responding to absolutely none of the comments on your threads.

Agree1 Disagree1

No approval till 13th March, and not then if questions not answered.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Feb 2014 15:47:06
Nobody listens because you said takeover would be done Monday!.

Agree2 Disagree1

No one listens as you state the obvious and common knowledge - its like me saying "i have insider knowledge that Leeds are looking to get new investment with a view to getting promotion to the premier league, we hope to build a squad that will win us some games" you heard it here first FACT

Agree1 Disagree0

. Amazing. Why bother posting c**p like this. Cellino having to jump through hoops. (Fit and Proper etc. extened to god knows when) Wake up! Get real. Remember this mugs for 11 years and still in the dark. I’m very angry and upset as most of us are. However that's football these days. The End.!

BeestonWhite

Agree1 Disagree1

You must be in the know as you said about getting a keeper, central midfielder and a striker. I mean given that he's already brought in two wingers and we have plenty of full backs and centre backs it's not like they're the only other positions left. You're so in the know; all praise Lord Survivor

So BMD in talks with an unnamed striker so who is it

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Someone rubbish no doubt if his track record is anything to go by!

Agree1 Disagree1

Going by BMD’s recent successes it’s probably Arthur Scargill.

Agree0 Disagree1

Says on web site that its gudetti from man ciry/stoke

Agree1 Disagree1

Its Guidetti, although he wouldn't make a massive difference due to awful service

Agree1 Disagree1

No one knows, they're unnamed.

Agree1 Disagree0

Guidetti fits the bill perfectly, hardly kicked a competitive football all season. Not match fit and not rated by his club manager. Get him signed on a long contract asap.

Agree1 Disagree1

Connor Wickham also mentioned

Agree1 Disagree0

Daily Mail reporting wickham

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes also after conor wickham

Agree1 Disagree0

Weve scored 43 goals this season which suggests that the comment above regarding no service is tosh . We were unlucky to lose Dexter Blackstock to injury, and have needed a replacement since then .

Agree3 Disagree1

Guidetti only scored 20 in 23 at Feyenoord, so i'm guessing that's why his manager doesn't rate him .

Agree1 Disagree1

The Irish kid

Agree1 Disagree1

. More like Bob Crow

Agree0 Disagree1

43 goals, that's low compared to the other sides in the top half. No shots on target for 2 games. We lack creativity in the middle.
