Strange one this to me. 18 year old midfielder on loan? What we need if anything in midfield is experience. Why sign someone to play in the reserves or sit on the bench. We've got enough youth in midfield. Roofe, Mowatt, Kalvin Phillips, Grimes.

Meadows (17 not 18 like a lot of sites seem to think) is a highly rated attacking mid that Monk is bringing in for the U18/ U23 sides not the first team. Seems less a loan and more a prolonged trial and I'm guessing he wants someone as a potential future replacement for Hernandez rather than as a full back, which he can play but not natural. Doubting this will have any effect on the first team but nice to see Monk bringing in a couple of future prospects.

Why not if he's for the under23 then at least he's thinking long term
And any way who said we have grimes for midfield dame the lads played 2 games and what I've seen he wouldn't lace any of my kids teams boots up he's that awful signing we alway make imo

We need 1-2 more for first team but for once our bench is starting to fill with players that may chance a game which is something we've lacked for a while.
